Slow site loading - try my site pls.

Would anyone have an idea what's calling builder.js and where can I find it? The store is functioning, I got rid of 95% of my validation errors and I feel that the builder.js issue is the key to my loading problem.
Use the "grep" tool in the admin called "Developers tool kit"
admin > tools > developers tool kit....

enter builder.js select admin & catalog files and search

This will find that phrase in your files

Re: Slow site loading - try my site pls.

Might try a quick search on the forum for:
builder.js

It will tell you about problems with this ...

I do believe one of the image programs uses this ... but I am basing that on I got hits ... not that I actually read the threads ... I was sorta in a hurry ... :lamo:

Yes, I tried that of course - nothing found.

When I check with Website Developer Tool in FireFox it shows that builder.js is called, returning 301 header and I cannot figure out what is calling it

There is no builder.js on my site at
http://www.capresso-store.com/includes/modules/pages/product_info/builder.js

I wonder that maybe on a server side it is possible to see what file is making a call for it...

There is only one entry, someone asked the same question, then he just stated "I found the problem" - misssing file from lightbox contribution download". I did check all versions of Lightbox available - no builder.js there.

I also checked HoverBox 2.1 and IH2 original contribution downloads (I have both modes installed) in case I missed some files - no luck.

Re: Slow site loading - try my site pls.

I finally got it with Web Developer Tool in Firefox. There were 4 files in includes/modules/pages/product_info/ which couldn't ne found returning 404 header:
builder.js
dragondrop.js
control.js
slider.js

IE didn't have problem with not finding them and loaded product pages quickly but Firefox hesitated, hanging a while longer that is acceptable. The file calling them is jscript_icmain.js which came with HoverBox 2.1

Here is en excerpt from this file. It didn't use "builder.js" but just "builder" and this is why I couldn't find builder.js when searching for it via Developers Kit in Admin.

...(includes?includes[1]:'builder,effects,dragdrop,controls,slider').split(',').each(function(include){Scriptaculous.require(path+include+'.js')});});}};...

I removed 4 items higlighted in red (the effects.js script was the only one actually present in the directory) Product pages in Firefox started loading quickly. The HoverBox doesn't need these files and the script above shouldn't be calling them. I am posting this for all those who use HoverBox 2.1 and experience slow loading of product pages.

Thanks to all who were trying to help!

Developers Tool Kit rides again!!

Thanks for the update that you were able to find the issue for the slowness utilizing your tools correctly with FireFox and its Web Developer and Zen Cart and the Development Tool Kit to locate the problems that were plaguing you ... :flex:

Re: Slow site loading - try my site pls.

I'm running my site on media temple. up until this week it was running accetable but around the middle of the week it slowed to almost unusable speeds. Nothing in the store was changed and it's running slow at all hours. Of course media temple says its the scripts(index them) or the database needs optomizing(which i did). These are some of the speeds that are coming up:

Parse Time: 35.394 - Number of Queries: 378 - Query Time: 29.639533265167

Parse Time: 40.139 - Number of Queries: 325 - Query Time: 35.91127251239

Parse Time: 40.373 - Number of Queries: 344 - Query Time: 39.113113615952
Connection Rate Download Time
14.4K 48.54 seconds
28.8K 25.67 seconds
33.6K 22.40 seconds
56K 14.56 seconds
ISDN 128K 6.40 seconds
T1 1.44Mbps 3.11 seconds

the last one is what the http://analyze.websiteoptimization.com/wso comes up with for the same page.

can it be told from this info if it's my cart configuration or the server? like i said, i've optomized the database and done some of the other optimization stuff that zen cart recoments but it's still crawling and i just want to know what to show media temple that it's the host and not the cart.

Re: Slow site loading - try my site pls.

It would be easier to tell from looking at the site ...

Those slow query times sound like they are either missing indexes or issues with the server ...

Not directly associated with speed but you will have many other issues trying to function from within a "frame"

Your parse times are not visibile

Re: Slow site loading - try my site pls.

it's been in that frame since the site went up about a year ago and it has run fine. the speed issue is something new.
