having trouble trying to add a logo

Not only templates/classic but in any folder where there is a classic folder also - Look in all the folders and take note of the date in the ftp window for the majority of files as thius is mot likely the install date and any edited/uploaded file will have a later date than that

Re: having trouble trying to add a logo

Well it looks like it is loading correctly to me and it is loading a the logo called in the code.

Now you should compare the file that you had with the default one for changes as one of them caused the logo not to load

Re: having trouble trying to add a logo

I think I know where I went wrong, I was trying all sorts of things out and really messed it up, next time I’ll just ask first,

Do I need to make any changes to the read write and execute file properties from 777 to ?, that we changed earlier, or can they be left as they are,

Also I have more questions so do I carry on asking in this post or do I start a new post

Re: having trouble trying to add a logo

Not sure if I should start another post or not so for now I’ll carry, but please let me know if I should and I will,

I want to add my own background like the green spotty one on my website http://www.scrapbookingmad.com/

I have a tile that created 33px x 33px It needs to tile the sides of the page how do I add this and where do I make the necessary changes

I’ll be logging off for now and checking back tomorrow as I’m shattered and my brain hurts, so I’ll look forward to any help I can get when I wake up,

May be the fairies might come in the night and finish my website, lol

SORRY I FORGOT TO SAY A BIG THANK YOU FOR ALL THE HELP :clap:

Re: having trouble trying to add a logo

In the style sheet and the first entry body add the red text - edit for your image
FTP your image to templates/classic/images

body {
	margin: 0;
	font-family: verdana, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;
	font-size: 62.5%;
	color: #000000;
	background-color: #e5edf5;
	background-image: url(../images/your_image.xxx);
	background-repeat: repeat;
	}

Re: having trouble trying to add a logo

I’ve added my logo to

store/Includes/templates/Classic/images/back.gif

Then I changed the stylesheet.ccs

store/Includes/templates/Classic/css/stylesheet.ccs

to this -

body {
margin: 0;
font-family: verdana, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;
font-size: 62.5%;
color: #000000;
background-color: #e5edf5;
background-image: url(http://www.scrapbookingmad.com/store/Includes/templates/Classic/images/back.gif%29;
background-repeat: repeat;
}

Re: having trouble trying to add a logo

Same issue as appending "/includes/templates/classic/images/back.gif" to your url - http://www.scrapbookingmad.com/store leads to a 404 meaning that the image back.gif is not there...

Additionally, use a relative url in your style sheet as I posted and not the one that you posted or you will experience trouble later if you install/use a SSL Certificate.

NOT:

background-image: url(http://www.scrapbookingmad.com/store/Includes/templates/Classic/images/back.gif);

But use:

background-image: url(../images/back.gif);

and watch your capitalization

Re: having trouble trying to add a logo

You DO NOT have the image loaded to /includes/templates/classic/images/
FTP the image to that folder

Re: having trouble trying to add a logo

tell me about it, i'm just glad it was that and nothing more complex

Can I change the top of the page where the home and log in and search bar are, so that it’s see through?

Re: having trouble trying to add a logo

How "see through"?
totally transparent or semi transparent?
What graphic program do you use?

Re: having trouble trying to add a logo

I'd like it so that it's totally see through, I’d like to see the dotty back ground that we have just added,
I use adobe cs2

Re: having trouble trying to add a logo

As well as changing the top to be transparent can I also change the background of the centre of the page instead of it being white? I have an image that I would like to tile just like the background but this time in the middle of the page so that it covers all of the white areas, Is this possible?

Sorry I’m referring to it as centre and middle but I’m not sure of the technical terms,

The image I have is 100x100px
And I’ve named it Centrebackground.gif

Re: having trouble trying to add a logo

To the specific elements you can add/change in your stylesheet the background color to

background-color: transparent;

Upload the other tile and insure that it is there and spelled corrertly

and apply to the element you want it to appear in just like the others

background-image: url(../images/New_Image.xxx);
background-repeat: repeat;
