Re: USPS API changes announced for May 12, 2008

I'm testing this on my local zen cart install, and so far it looks perfect.
Thanks very much, DrByte.

Re: USPS API changes announced for May 12, 2008

Rats. There's a problem. Now FLAT RATE priority doesn't come up. First class is fine, but the flat rate envelope and boxes do not show up.

Sorry.

Can you provide a sample address and package details (ie: weight)?
More specifically, an example of the information you would key into the USPS website to get an online quote, would be a big help.

The options all seem fine on checkout, but the shipping estimator doesn't seem to work any more.

Re: USPS API changes announced for May 12, 2008

There should be no functional difference for Shipping Estimator. Are you sure they were working before? What specifically is "not working" now?
Maybe you need to start a new thread about that problem unless you are absolutely certain that the new module is the cause ... in which case you'll need to also post all the relevant details such as your Zen Cart version, which versions you've upgraded from, a detailed list of all addons and mods, as well as the customizations you've made to your site, your URL, details about the kinds of quotes that are failing (intl/domestic, zip from, zip to, weight, value, etc), exact steps to reproduce the problem, etc.

Re: USPS API changes announced for May 12, 2008

sigh. I'll post all the information requested. Yes, I'm absolutely sure the shipping estimator stopped functioning after the usps.php module was installed. Actually.... I think I'll just disable the damn thing. Thanks.

Re: USPS API changes announced for May 12, 2008

I just installed the module for the May 12 update (I followed the directions) and my cart is no longer calculating express mail correctly. It's showing the price at $12.60. First class and priority appear to be working correctly. Here's the cart: http://dichroicjewelry.net/glass/

I removed and reinstalled the module twice. I haven't made any other changes. Anyone know what's going on? I'm using v1.3.7

Thanks
Lis

Also, please post what you get from USPS when you plug the same details into their website to calculate an online quote. And compare that with what you're seeing in your store.

Re: USPS API changes announced for May 12, 2008

Upgrading from * @version $Id: usps.php 6474 2007-11-18 15:59:32Z ajeh $

URL: http://dichroicjewelry.net/glass/

I figured out what's going on. It's calculating express mail based on weight. I have always done express mail flat rate envelope, which is a totally different price ($16-something instead of $12-something for the zip codes I was using). Maybe it has always done this and I just have never noticed...

Re: USPS API changes announced for May 12, 2008

I have encountered one minor glitch, and I'm not sure where the problem is.

No Shipping Rates are being returned for customers that select "France, Metropolitan" as the Country. Every other country seems to work fine.

I am using 1.3.7
I've upgraded with the latest May 12, 2008 fix

URL is www.newmodeUS.com

PS. I tried it too using the website of the previous post "Dichroic Jewelry" and "France, Metropolitan" did not return shipping cost.

Re: USPS API changes announced for May 12, 2008

Aloha,

Thanks so much for the update.

For some reason, the domestic USPS priority mail flat rate box is not showing.

When I do a test of an 8 pound domestic USA shipment from zip 48103 to 94519, on the usps.com site, I get two flat rate options, "Priority Mail® Large Flat-Rate Box" and "Priority Mail® Flat Rate Box". Unfortunately in the shipping estimator, both these options do not show. Everything else seems to work fine.

I'm using Zen Cart 1.3.6.

Re: USPS API changes announced for May 12, 2008

Please post the output from one of the debug emails that you get in that situation. Yes, that means you'll need to turn on debugging in the module's settings, and then test the specific situation you're having a problem with.
