I really like the rotating image gallery that you've created, and I want to incorporate this into a live site. I'd like to incorporate it inside the current template, rather than having to rebuild a template that the client is happy with. Can you tell me which pieces of code I need to embed in which files in order to get the carousel to show up in our template?

As I am trying to figure out different browser behavior (FireFox vs InternetExployer).
Not sure if it is a “feature” :huh: of IE or mistake in my css
My changes look nice in FF , but , the “refresh” in IE does not look that good

I changed the body background to an image …
When I “refresh” the IE browser the background goes to white first
then the image . This is not the case in FF

Just a quick note regarding previous post #163.

Apologies for my lack of knowledge on CSS and browsers for that matter...

The short of it is :
I had a background-image defined for <body>
However, I did not have a background-color set for <body>

I am test with Firefox and IE .
The browsers seem to behave a little different on cache

In a case in which the background-color is not defined the browser will default
to browsers background-color defaults, then render the background-image.

Firefox seems to cache things so that subsequent “refresh” requests do not “flash”
with a background color first - default or defined.

IE seems to “flash” the background color first then then render the background-image

• default or defined – every time on subsequent “refresh” requests

Browser Issue … tons of info on the web about this …

I need to change width of JMyCarousel but don't know how to do this. Tried to find some settings in *.js files but it's to hard to me.

The file you need is jscriptfoot_jquery-cookies_json.js. This should be in includes/templates/YOUR_TEMPLATE/jscript/. This js file has been compressed using packer, so go to http://dean.edwards.name/packer/ and copy and past the jscript file into the lower portion and click decode. Once decoded, find the css define in the javascript, and change it to whatever you like. I believe the particulat jquery plugin used here dictates the width by something like either "visible:x" or "width:y" so search for visible or width in the decompressed javascript, and change to what you need. (there will likely be a ton of results found for those queries, but look for something to do with carousel). To work correctly with the other jscript files in the mod, you will need to repack the javascript using the same website mentioned above. Remember to save your original js files and backup backup backup...

As I said, I want to change width of this element so I can change number of displayed images from 4 to 3 (it's easy to find in both sources above). But while it works fine for FF and Opera it does not work in IE.

Need to find how width of this element is calculated in this script...

We are rather impressed with this template...using ZJ Black 2 on ZC 1.3.8. We're having an SSL issue with the login and can't find any reference to it here so far. When you click on Login in the header bar, you are NOT redirected to the https url. Check it out at http://parishgoods.com. I tried changing the header file...but I think the JS is overriding the ssl link.

I'm having an issue with the file jscript_jquery-zcj-controls.min and IE6 (a substantial amount of my visitors still, blech) giving an error saying there are secure and nonsecure items on the page. I'm certain it's this file causing it, because deleting it from ftp will make the error go away. But I like the functionality of it! Any ideas to make this file work with IE6 seamless?

I seem to have worked around the issue by first, making sure the sideboxes didn't load during checkout, then creating override folders (one for each of the checkout pages) in the template directory with a customized html_header.php that only loads my analytics jscript file, the rest I deleted the calls from the html_header. I tested checkout and it works fine, but will this create any other problems for me? I'm completely php illiterate almost.

possible bug I've been tracking in the black_2 template...or maybe I broke something.

Product info view -> additional images

lets say there are 5 additional images in the carousel

• If I select a picture out of order, IE image_5.jpg = _top (opens the image in the same browser window)

• Same for any image clicked out of numerical order.

• If I go to the first image and selected them in the correct numerical order they open in the popup jquery window.

I just read through all 18 pages of this thread, and I really enjoyed checking out what all of you have been doing with your sites. In the case of litepockets, I was even drawn in as a customer -- I'm landscaping my backyard, and you've got some neat stuff!

I'm building a site for our firm based on zj_black_2 on 1.3.8a.

I'm also subject to the jCarousel bug reported by ThomasBDD and bumped by skytim in post #174. The odd click on a carousel image skips the fancybox and just displays in the browser tab a la carte. The demo of this template at:

displays the same bug on the Home : DVD Movies : Cartoons : "A Bug's Life" page.

I also find that in IE8, I get the odd page rendering as shown in post #165 (dollncrossbones), though I haven't yet deduced exactly when & why. If memory serves, it's almost always during the checkout process. If I see a definite pattern, I'll update.

If anyone would care to critique what I've done so far, I'm all ears. I've checked out basic navigation in IE8, FF3.5, Opera 9.x, and Google Chrome 2.x, and nothing seems to break between browsers. Oh yeah, I forgot to ask -- how did most of you move your category row (div id="navCatTabsWrapper") from the footer up to the header? I tried Admin/Tools/Layout Boxes Controller and set sideboxes/categories.php to Single Column Status = On and Sort Order = 10 (the lowest number of those with SCS=On). Apparently that's not it. lol Is this done from Admin, or were you all mucking about in the templates? I've tried to restrict myself to CSS, the english text file(s), and the Admin console, but hey, ya gotta do what ya gotta do, I guess...

Ok, now I'm relatively new to Zen-cart but have been playing with it for most of the weekend. I have settled on the ZJ_Silver template but can't find a way to set the silver bar with the yourlogo.com image to the width of the rest of the website. It runs the entire width of the screen.

Actually, I'm seeing your logo rendered at the correct width of 800 pixels, but left-justified, whilst the remainder of your page is nicely centered. In your CSS, you have:

#logo { float: left; }

set. Kill that, and it should snap back into place.

Oops. I initially wrote that your #logo needed its float:left; turned off, but I see now that I was incorrect. Your entire #logoWrapper is behaving as though it has float:left; enabled, though I don't see that explicitly set or inherited. I do see what appears to be a typo in your css where you've set the background image for your #logoWrapper. The IE developer tool is showing this under #logoWrapper:

background-image : url(../images/header_bg.jpg); TEXT-ALIGN: center

I'm not sure why the TEXT-ALIGN bit is in there. Are you missing a semi-colon or something?
