PayFlow Pro - why won't it work ?

Hi All,
I'm setting up a new cart with 1.3.8a and have installed the payment module for "Paypal - Payflow Pro - gateway" and I can't get it to authorise a credit card payment.
How can I debug this and find out where the problem is ?
Is this the right module to be using ?

Any help would be really gratefull, this is the last step in getting this working.
Thanks.

Re: PayFlow Pro - why won't it work ?

You might try this updated payflow pro module built for v1.3.8: http://www.zen-cart.com/forum/showthread.php?p=481988#post481988

Thanks Dr Byte,
I believe I might already have this installed. Any way I can check the version number on the module ?

Re: PayFlow Pro - why won't it work ?

This is the error log i get from any transaction in debug mode.

payflow
Value List:
Array
(
[ORIGID] =>
[TENDER] => C
[TRXTYPE] => I
[VERBOSITY] => MEDIUM
[REQUEST_ID] => 1219929519
[USER] => **********
[PWD] => ***********
[PARTNER] => ***
[VENDOR] => *********
)

Response:
Array
(
[RESULT] => 7
[RESPMSG] => Field format error: ORIGID missing
[REQUEST_ID] => 1219929519
[CURL_ERRORS] =>
)

Session data: Array
(
[securityToken] => 58d8aca421ffc40a25e971d371db4e8f
[language] => english

[languages_code] => en
[selected_box] => configuration
[html_editor_preference_status] => HTMLAREA
[admin_id] => 1
[reset_admin_activity_log] => 1
)

Does this give any clues as to why its not working properly ?
As a user all seems to work okay, but payment not getting authenticated by paypal.

Re: PayFlow Pro - why won't it work ?

What exactly are you trying to do?

ORIGID is only required if you're trying to alter an existing transaction, not when attempting to take a payment.
And, if ORIGID is being treated as blank, that suggests that you're providing an invalid order number for the history lookup or else the transaction you're referencing doesn't exist in your database ... which could be caused by a number of factors including fudged installation of different versions of the module or even altering raw data in the database.

I'm just trying to take a payment.
This is why i couldn't understand why it didn't work. I'll re install the module, and try again.
Thanks.

Re: PayFlow Pro - why won't it work ?

You've likely copied the main module file into the languages folder by mistake.
Make sure you've put the right files in the right places. They may have the same filename, but the contents are different.

Re: PayFlow Pro - why won't it work ?

So, the order goes through but you're having troubles viewing its status in the admin area?

Re: PayFlow Pro - why won't it work ?

User logs on
selects items for cart
selects payment option
enters credit card details (using test figures at the moment)
supposedly pays
gets a response that the order has been completed

so from a user perspective all is good.

go to the admin and look at the order which has a status of processing.
can view the order, but no authorisation details from paypal.
I have logging turned on in the module and the log is as posted before about origid missing.

It's like its sending the wrong stuff to paypal ????

Re: PayFlow Pro - why won't it work ?

i also sometimes get in a pink bar across the top of the admin screen "There was a problem retrieving transaction details. ()" when i return to the admin module payments screen after reviewing an order.
don't know if this is helpful to know ?

That pink bar and error message are the visual side of the missing ORIGID issue you're seeing in your logs.
So, that's just a symptom of whatever the background "cause" is.

So, if you log in to your PayPal Manager account, do you see the payment?

The auth code is likely included in the order comments area, if I remember correctly.

As long as you have the money in your PayPal account, the store is functioning and your "problem" is simply a data retrieval issue. Not that you shouldn't want to fix that ... I'm just pointing out that there's not likely any problem preventing sales from actually happening.

Re: PayFlow Pro - why won't it work ?

Did some further delving into paypal reports and found the transaction type is coming through I= Inquiry.

Also ran a proper card and number through, same result, $0.00 debited and error log the same.

the space is there in the order comments for auth codes but as it is being read as inquiry by paypal i don't think i'll ever get one.

....puzzled.

Re: PayFlow Pro - why won't it work ?

The "I" for Inquiry is correct -- that's what's used to bring back the details when you're looking at it in the admin page ... the same place where you're getting the pink error message.

Don't look for "inquiry" transactions. You need a payment transaction first before you can do an Inquiry on it.

Do you see any evidence of the actual payment being sent?

Re: PayFlow Pro - why won't it work ?

Do you have Debug Log To File enabled in the module settings?
What's in the logs when attempting to make a payment? Need to know the data sent to the gateway and the response it gave back.
