you delete all the files for lightbox you uploaded, then you use the uninstall sql to remove the lightbox totally.

See the main reason that some of those themes don't work is that they are custom made and mixup the code to suit their purposes. They also have no idea what add-ons a person has installed so sometimes the files they send are overwriting the files that have the coding...like in this case the lightbox files.

that is the only hard part of this software...the add-ons and playing nice with custom themes.

I sometimes use double quotes in my Item Name. This item name shows up fine in the store. When viewing the item with Lightbox JS (large image) it truncates these strings when I have a double quote in them? Any ideas?

I use an asterick also and sometime a double one and it hasn't done that...sooo

could it be the length of the name or does it do it with all names

what is the size of the popup image?

Great mod. I would like to use on the index.php page, located at the root of the directory, zen-cart-v1.3.8a-full-fileset-12112007. Currently, I have installed only image there using the Admin - Catlog - Catagories/Product method of image insertion. Will this mod work if placed in zen-cart-v1.3.8a-full-fileset-12112007, where the hub file, index.php is located?

I hope the mod can be used from the location, http://images.webhosting.com/catalog...=65_66&pID=180. This is where the index page comes into play.

I just uploaded this module to 2 of my sites. The first one it worked great and looked really good. The second one I got an error when I uploaded the sql query.

This is the error I got:

Success 4 statements processed.
Error ERROR: Cannot insert configuration_key "" because it already exists
Warning Note: 1 statements ignored. See "upgrade_exceptions" table for additional details.

Under configuration in my admin the Zen Lightbox also comes up empty.

Not sure what to do about this and I would appreciate any help I can get.

In the store with the errors...did you remember to add the prefix if any?

Try running the uninstaller in the admin section of your store then

go to myphpadmin to run the installer in the SQL tab of the actual database. Sometimes that is what we need to do.

Come back and tell us what happened.

ok, I uninstalled it in the admin.

In phpmyadmin do I import the install.sql or do I rename the install.sql into install.txt and then cope the code and paste into the sql query in phpmyadmin?

Ok, I made the install.sql into a text file by renaming it to install.txt and then ran it in the query and it worked!! :clap:

I just hope that it hasn't messed anything up with soemthing else.

Do you know if it should affect anything else in the database?

glad it worked. it should only add the function to the datbase and show the controls in configuration ---it shouldn't mess with anything else...just be careful when adding another add-on...keep the lightbox unzipped on your hard drive or in a cd/external hard drive...somewher for safe kepping. So you can check to make sure that the new add-on does not overwrite a file that lightbox installed.

the easy way to have installed it would have been open the sql installer in a text editor like notepad++ then copy the contents go to the SQL tab and paste it into the window then click ok to install it.

It should work how you did it too especialy if it shows in configuration now.

I don't have that add-on installed so check both installer folders and see if there are any files that are exactly the same name...it might be one overwrote the other.

if there are you may need to merge the two files to create a new one to upload..

then go to your myphpadmin and to the database...copy/paste the installer into the SQL tab window...hit go and it should install from there

some of us could not install from the admin section either and got it to work only from myphpadmin

well It won't work that way either...I'm confused now. I just went into myphpadmin area and tried to install there in the SQL area but now I'm getting this error message:

take a deep breath....and if you please:

go to myphpadmin and take a screenshot of the tables for your store and post here

you said you must have removed something...did you delete files?, if not then there is just a glitch and hopefully this is not a live store.

Make sure your tables do not have a prefix or if the do then add it to the installer sql code.

1. open both your server files and the lightbox zip then compare to make sure each file is in its proper place

2. if you have not done it again, run the uninstaller from admin again to uninstall it from the database

3. open myphpadmin from your sites/server control panel and try running the installer through the SQL tab

see if that helps

I have Zen Lightbox installed and working but I wonder if a feature I'm trying simply doesn't work?!

I have additional images on some of my products, Lightbox works perfect.

What I have tried to do is put a link to an image on a product information page (ie, a link to a picture of a t-shirt sizing chart) but it won't load in Lightbox. Is this by design or have I got a problem?!

Well supposedly it can be for any image in whichever folder you put that in the includes/modules/pages/what ever folder/jscript_zen_lightbox.php

but, I have it in several spots including the main page too and it has never worked with the images that are linked to there nor the product description.

They just seem to open in the normal fashion...of course right now that is getting rectified since I am doing all images with image handler 2...even if the one part of lightbox that says it will put them all into the first popup iwht previous and next links...mine won't do it...lol

helo. i hawe problem with lightbox i instaled zen-lightbox on the shop but when i turn it on the images are opening in the same window by open the image ONLY. no lightbox..

all is propertly instaled i hawe 2 shops in one of this all is ok on second zen lightbox its dont work..

sklep.s-x-t.pl - not working - now is turned OFF

I take it you ran the SQL and it shows under the configuration tab. You have set the preferences (settings) for it there too.

I suggest that you double check once more to see the server files and make sure they were uploaded to the right spot and you did not miss one or accidently dropit into the wrong folder

AND at the same time reupload each file for in case the file got corrupted the first time. I can happen.

come back and let us know if it worked or not--remember to turn it back on too

I'm new to zen and I have installed the lastest ver 1.3.8a..
I have uploaded this mod and checked that all files had tranfered properly also changed the relevent folder names But when I come to do the sql install I get this error message...

1146 Table 'maz786_zc1.configuration_group' doesn't exist
in:
[SELECT @cgi := configuration_group_id FROM configuration_group WHERE configuration_group_title = 'Zen Lightbox';]

I copyed and pasted it in the sql section in admin and sent it and got the above error back, I also tried the other way by browsing for the file and uploading it but I still get the same error. Has anybody got any ideas wot the problem might be. many thx in advance.

when you are in the database (phpmyadmin) and click on the page to see all the tables of your database is this what is listed just before the table:

maz786_zc1 or is it just a zc1

yes it did sweety,

as I suspected the name of your database is the part that ends with zc1 but the tables are not that prefix...they should be the zen_

that is what is directly in front of the name of each individual table.

try your code with the zen_ as the prefix. post back with results...try in admin and if it doesn't work then try database sql tab

what i mean is in the code you copy/pasted to install the SQL you must enter zen_ prefix in 4 different areas prior to pasting it into either admin or phpmyadmin for installation.

that is why it was telling you that you did not have that table...you were using the database name NOT the prefix to the tables.

these are the first 8 lines of the sql installer and in read is where you must insert the zen_ prefix:

INSERT INTO `zen_configuration_group` VALUES (NULL, 'Zen Lightbox', 'Configure Zen Lightbox settings', '0', '1');
UPDATE `zen_configuration_group` SET `sort_order` = LAST_INSERT_ID() WHERE `configuration_group_id` = LAST_INSERT_ID();

The reason for the zen prefix was because it was one of the free scripts offered but my hosting company and if you chose it it gets installed automatically for you. so what I did was download the package myself and uploaded it via ftp and now it works great thankyou very much for your help. loving this script more and more each day. excellent job done by all thankyou. :hug:

I'm getting this error message when installing the sql (into the zen sql input box).

when you copy paste the coding into the sql installer make sure you get everything.

make sure you have the right prefix--if any

if it doen't work in admin then use phpmyadmin

That did the trick. I was a little squeamish about entering directly into phpmyadmin input box, but I'm over it now. LOL

Your examples showed where to add the prefix, but how does one know where a pre-fix is needed if an sql file doesn't have them and I need to do that through phpmyadmin again?

usually if you are the one that installed it to begin with then you will know what, if any, prefix you added to the database you created.

If another persone installs it then chances are they have access to your database or server files via c-panel?? and you can get the information from them otherwise just take a peek at the configuration file (includes/configuration.php) for the store and it will be listed towards the bottom.

That is why any software you install you want to do all possible to also install the security updates for a hacker can get to this file, and get access to your stuff..

yes includes\templates\ri007 is what i mean. anytime you find either your_template or custom then that is what you do...drop the items into the folder that houses your template you are using for the store.

Same here. Lightbox isnt working in Gallery mode in Opera. The "Next" button doesnt appear in the top right of the lightbox. :censored:

Any help?

Update: Its only the "Next" button in gallery mode in Opera that doesnt work. The keyboard arrow keys cycle through the images in Lightbox, and the "Prev" button works. Its just the Next button that is broken. Please help.

some people with google chrome have problems also so it may be just a setting or just and opera thing.

I have searched thru the forum for answers to a question that has been asked before but not answered as far as I can see.

I have a 1.3.8a install running IH2 and zen lightbox.

How do I get zen lightbox to work with the images on the product listing page, you know when you enter a category... initial list.

do you mean like if the category is backgrounds...click that link and see them all listed in the column?

I do not think lightbox will work that way since those are like doors to the product page, where the lightbox feature does work...with image handler they get the medium size to look at and give them a taste and want to see more by clicking the image.

Hello, hopefuly somebody can tell me what to do to get lightbox working

I installed a clean zencart 1.3.8a =working
Image Handler2 Version: 2.0 = working
zen_lightbox-v1.5-20081218 = not working

I did everything told in the install file and Image Handler is working fine only lightbox doesnt work.
When I click to open a larger image nothing happens at all.

problem im having is that all related js files are loaded using lightbox file and not by zencart . so now that i wan to add some other jquery script , i ran into errors , due to the fact that , jquery loaded by lightbox, loads Before my js scripts and those script can not initialize some functions.
wondering how i ( zencart ) load my script after jquery ?

do the setting show in the configuration column?

did you set it to true so it will know to work?

if yes then open the zip and go to your server files and make double sure you put everything into the right spot...if you are using ANY template other than classic you need to create a folder with that templates name in the fodler where it is indicated (your_template folders or custom folders) that will tell you that you need to place those files in there.

like in the includes/languages/english/extra_definitions/your_template

you need to create a fodler in that extra_definitions folder with your templates name and place the file into it....so if your template is mostlygrey you create a fodler called mostlygrey and plop the contents of the "your_template" folder into it.

Yes I did and when i set it to false the old popup still works fine but in true there is no popup or lightbox

Still using classic . Double checked everything is in the right place

some will fight with each other and if it is an addon it may have overwritten another file that lightbox needed. or is it from a custom theme?

Finaly got lightbox and imagehandler working, except for one thing.
In an older version I had in the lightbox a "close X" button . But now it isnt there?

IH2 worked like a dream....this morning I configured all the sizes for him....then I put in lightbox.....followed your instructions to the letter...never got any errors when I did the SQL...I'm stumpt...

P.S. have another flowers site at http://textadvertiser.com/zen ... This was used to give him an idea of what could be done. IH2 & lightbox were both installed there .. after a few days lightbox gave up and stopped working... They are all on the same physical server .. so it's not that

was going to ask which template but you said classic but with that automated header i thought it might have been a paid for template...on his store.

I did a clean basic out-the-box on http://a2z-test.com just to check my server ... it worked, so server not the problem.

I've got the folder naming for lightbox template files done correctly for flowers-by-design site, rechecked my upload, double checked MyPHPadmin to see the SQL went in OK.

Don't know what else to do. Well there is one thing...get some sleep...been at it now for 16 hours straight :lamo: and not eaten anything either...it's 10pm here so nighty night I'll check back in 7 or 8 hours.

I have done this a dozen times and have never experienced this much trouble. I checked my db with phpmyadmin and I did truely use the zen_ prefix. I edited the install.sql file as above and I cut n pasted in SQL patch and it tells me at the tables zen_ do not exist.

What did I miss?

I just noticed an odd behavior with lightbox. In configuration->images, I changed "IH large image maximum width" from 600 to 640. Now, when I click on an image that's larger than 600, lightbox either either displays the image at 600 pixels wide, or just hangs without displaying the image at all.

I've cleared both the cache in IH2 and in my browser, and repeated this test.

Is it possible that during installation, lightbox examines the maximum image width setting, and stores it, instead of re-reading it whenever it needs to? Any other ideas what might be going on here?

I also notice that when I've cleared the cache, medium images don't appear upon hovering in the sidebar. When one is selected, though, the others regenerate. Guess I should mention that in the IH forum; don't know whether it's related to this problem.

The Hummer image is the only one that hangs up. Is this image actually 640 or larger? I found that the program has an issue with images larger than 800

It's there. Don't know why you can't browse it directly; maybe something to do with the https prefix.

You get a similar 403 error if you try to look at the other pictures, but they're there too (and visible in lightbox).
Edited: there's an .htaccess file in that directory. It's probably part of one of the latest security patches.

I just wonder if this is some undocumented limitation in lightbox...it's really going to jam me up if I can't go into production with 640x480 images, though.

Try re-naming the .htacess file for a moment and see wht happens. Also check the file and folder permissions.

Eureka! It appears to have been that .htaccess file. I guess that's going away. I don't even remember where it came from, but as I said above, I think it was part of a security patch. Guess I'll have to find someone who can modify it to work with lightbox.

I think something wasn't working right unless the entire site was under https, but I honestly can't remember. Is there any disadvantage to doing so?

about lightbox and some purchased templates

I found that some of the templates with their own jscripting sometimes run into a problem and the lightbox will not behave due to the coding.

if you compare files with the lightbox and the template maybe there is a like file that can be merged instead of just uploaded

I found the problem but not yet the answer.....it is lightbox code and template code conflicting....

template has some jquery javascripting to a) produce scrolling banners and b) a dynamic shopping cart

By disabling all the jquery code I can now get lightboxes....

See a static page I made at http://www.flowers-by-design.info/pr...e_lightbox.htm versus the normal database driven one at http://www.flowers-by-design.info/in...&products_id=2

Static page (no Jquery code so no dynamic cart) works with lightbox...dynamic page (has jquery and dynamic cart) doesn't work with lightbox.....

We're going back to the template makers for a fix.....

Just found out that jquery make a lightbox code for Zen....I'm going to uninstal the present one and give that a go......

yes exactly..that is why i ask you to compare the files. i found that out too yet sometimes even those with the auto banner do work with zen lightbox...

remember to use the uninstall sql script then remove all the files from the server before you upload the jquery one.

Hi, I have problem with the previous next buttons.
They only appear when you hover your mouse over them.
I would like to see buttons permanently,I guess it is not something complicated,but my knowledge is not enough to do it. :frusty:

make double sure you uploaded all the files...open both the zips folder and the server files and double check that each folder in the zip had its contents tossed into the exact same folder on the server

Please excuse me for saying this and it it no way should be taken as a bad or nasty comment but:

It seems that every time somebody has a non standard template the lightbox just refuses to work. Not the fault of the lightbox but the template....perhaps you should write a caveat in the lightbox install somewhere about this, warning people who have non-standard templates (and who doesn't) that it may well take a lot to get it to work and that it is generally a fault of the templates....i.e. buyer beware ... even if it's free......

I personally spent two agonizing days and nights over the lightbox until I could prove that it was the template with jquery javascripting that was conflicting with the lightbox.....I'm now back to the template people to find a solution.....as they had modified jquery code so much that even the jquery lightbox didn't work.....

Of course there are those who just don't follow the install instructions...for them there is no hope...especially if english is not their first language.....

I totally agree. With some of the paid templates that have altered the jquery code...they charge you to fix it which is silly but that is life.

the jquery lightbox that I found at one of the template suppliers for one of my clients is the only "fix" I found since they wanted $150.00 dollars to fix it on their end...when if they had not mucked with the code to begin with , would not have broken it.

If I were the creator (which have not seen him about in a long time) I would look into it too. Bear in mind too that some addons use the same files as the store and other addons so it is always best to open the addon zip and compare file names with both the store software and other addons you have installed and to merge documents when possible....I usually set a ~ the the end of the file name of one that is getting overwritten, just in case for it is easier to delete the offending file and remve the tilde to get things back than to do other measures.

trouble with popups...do you mean they do not show the little hover popup or that the main popup (the one that also is not working in lightbox) is the one giving you trouble.

No errors when installing either.
By popup I mean that when I click on an image, it opens large, so that the whole page is just white background, and the image, and you have to hit the back button on your browser to get back to the item description. This is rather than the larger view image popping up in a new window.

The slimbox script is not loading into the header of your product page, thus no slimbox.

The class file loads the slimbox script into the head of the product page... without the script, there is no slimbox.

The Slimbox code is what Zen Lightbox uses to create the lightbox effect. I don't use the IH2 code so don't know if it conflicts with MooTools core files or not....

In a nutshell, this code is not showing up in the header of your product page...

If you placed your files from the Zen_Lightbox mod in the right locations, and set 'Zen Lightbox' true in your admin configuration, then you may have a conflict with something else.

Until this code shows up on your product page, you wont get an lightbox effect. I use Zen Lightbox on my site as will, MooTools can be used for other things.

I am using Cherry Zen and the latest version of ZenCart for my store at http://williamsstore.com/market Lightbox works fine for second or later images, but the first one still displays as a regular pop-up box. Any suggestions are appreciated!

by the looks of it you have both IH2 and lightbox installed...yet I see no pop up image when viewing the small ones and each one i clicked on gave me NO lightbox effect at all.

are you sure you uploaded the files to the correct places?

Using Zen Cart 1.3.8 and would like to install Zen Lightbox. When I run the install script by pasting the script in the box and clicking run I get the following error:

1146 Table 'selectge_znc1.configuration_group' doesn't exist
in:
[SELECT @cgi := configuration_group_id FROM configuration_group WHERE configuration_group_title = 'Zen Lightbox';]

Consequently Lightbox does not work. Can anyone tell me what I need to to?

please go to the database in myadminphp and look at the tables. make sure that the prefix is: selectge_znc1

NOT the databases name but the prefix just before each and every individual table there...send a screenshot of the database tables please.

Hi, anyone can help me?
After installing Zen Light box, my image in 'product info' expanding down and creating a wider space between image and 'large image text'.

I don't know if it's normal?
or how to modify this, so that the 'larger image"text within a right spot and the shadow of image is around image without extra space.

those are for the gallery mode of lightbox. when the larger image is viewed and if there are additional images then the person can click the next or prev buttons to see the others...mine has never worked, not even with image handler...lol
