Re: Edit Orders v3.0 for Zen Cart 1.3.9 Support Thread
Hi DivaVocals & ScriptJunkie,
The reason I have not replied yet is that - after being away a couple of days for Christmas - I came back yesterday and started to do some extra checking. I believe it is not fair to ask someone - like you, DivaVocals - to spend some time on my issue before I am comfortable to say I have checked all possible issues by myself.
So far, I noticed two things that indicates that the problem is probably on my side :
- When a customer clicks on the searching box on the public side of the site, he is redirected to the login page! This shows that there are some problems left with my upgrades.
- I also checked carefully all files on my server, and noticed that some files officially removed on the upgrades 1.3.9 are still present on my site, like session.php. If I remove all of them, I get an error and can't access my admin page.
So although relatively few files differ from the official release, they still could be the cause of the problem...
ScriptJunkie : the file 1.php - or 2.php in my case - means that instead of using the language name "english", your site is trying to generate the link with the language_id, which is a numeric id corresponding to the language - for me, 1 = English and 2 = French...
I keep working on that and won't give up. But if you are interested to get immediately a look on that, I can send you, DivaVocals, the whole site as a zip file very quickly...

Re: Edit Orders v3.0 for Zen Cart 1.3.9 Support Thread
It's not about fairness.. I asked for your files because frankly I want to get to the bottom of this and post the answer.. Until that happens this whole line of discussion gives newbies the impression that something is wrong with this mod, and I do not believe that to be the case.. :smile: Just wanted to squash this once and for all..
In any case.. ScriptJunkie has provided me full access to her site (the ONLY way I can really get to the bottom of the issue) and I discovered that what is the likely cause for this issue is a mixture of leftover files from v1.3.8 that were deprecated in 1.3.9, along with files that were not fully migrated to their 1.3.9 versions, and other modules from her 1.3.8 install that appear to be in direct conflict with modules updated specifically for v1.3.9 (as Edit Orders was)
After doing a numbe of file comparisons, updates, and deletions.. I wiped out ScriptJunkies entire store and replaced it with a CLEAN Zen Cart backup I use to restore my test store.. I made NO database changes..
This still yielded the blank page and errors indicating a language file was the issue.. So I then replaced her database with the vanilla database.. This finally got the admin back working..
So I'm still testing, but I believe in every case where these issues cropped up, they occurred in only stores where they were being upgraded from an older version of Zen Cart and/or Edit Orders.. I beleive the root of the issue lies in the upgrades not being complete or older 1.3.8 mods interfering. I wish I could say THIS module or THAT module was THE cause, but I can't..

Yes, I can confirm that. I have always upgraded my site starting from version 1.2.x, I think, so there is a fairly significant number of files that might be leftover.
I can't compare with a fresh install, because I am not sure which files were added by the mods I am using. So I am trying to remove one file at a time, check for stability, and continue like that until I find which file is creating the problem.
Frankly, next upgrade, I might simply start with a fresh install and add all mods again...

And honestly I think this is the BEST way to approach this It may seem like a timesaver to try approach this another way, but look at all the time it has taken to run down THIS one issue.. Would have been FASTER to start over and install all the mods one by one testing functionality along the way.. Bottomline the errors happening seem to be a by product of upgrades gone wrong than an issue caused by this module.. (which is what I really wanted to confirm..)

Re: Edit Orders v3.0 for Zen Cart 1.3.9 Support Thread
Sanji & ScriptJunkie..
First off I want to thank ScriptJunkie for giving me "carte blanche" to tramp all through her test store... (I promise to put back everything how I found it..:laugh: -- Well MOSTLY how I found it..:laugh:)
It has been a good late night and early morning exercise.. and I think I FINALLY got down to the bottom of the issue.. I will be submitting an update to the downloads TODAY as a result.. For whatever reason in CERTAIN hosting setups the code we put in to enhance additional language support does NOT work on certain hosts.. I say this because at this point I cannot rule out host configuration as a factor in this mystery yet. There are others who are happily running this mod with no issues whatsoever.. In testing on ScriptJunkie's site I ended up installing a FULL CLONE of my test site, and was AT LAST able to replicate the mysterious language error.. (YEAH!!!:clap: well not yeah as in GOOD, but you know what I mean here..:laugh:)
What's interesting is that this error NEVER occurs on my test site. (believe me I TRIED to make it appear)
So wanna do some more testing of my proposed change and try and get it submitted today.. Sanji, please PM me your e-mail address.. Before I submit this, I need YOU to test it since you are the only other person here who's still plugging away at resolving this. (others have apparently resolved the issue themselves)

HI, Just want to say that we we installed this mod a couple of hours ago, and have the same problems mentioned here. Even though I am not glad there are problems, I am sure glad to read we are not the only ones and that someone is working on resolving them. :) :)

Can you be more specific?? Which problem?? It's a support thread.. So invariably people come here to report issues.. All have been resolved with the exception of the issue sanji and ScriptJunkie are having.. So it's helpful to others to post specific details so we know which issue you are referring to (as others have done..)

Re: Edit Orders v3.0 for Zen Cart 1.3.9 Support Thread
Sorry.....:blush: I actually wanted nofications of this thread and the only way I could find the option for it was to post.
Okay......our situation.
1. Icons not showing....... (check for update, Back, Display order details, add product, update)
2. I can make changes, and update, but can't go back to orders anymore. It kicks me out of admin, and I get an *oopps this site appears to be broken*. After a couple of trys I can log in again.
Can't get further then that.
Info to my site.

And can you post the contents of the error logs when you are kicked out of the admin..
BTW, does your store ACTUALLY display the error message you posted?? (because if it does.. that's different.. and I really will need to see your error log contents..)

Re: Edit Orders v3.0 for Zen Cart 1.3.9 Support Thread
okay....this was why I was worried posting more then what I said initially, because now I am lost :( There person who installed the mod is not around to ask.
Is there somewhere in admin where errors logs are recorded?
If I got to edit orders and want to go back to orders....or try to get out of the edit section, first I get a blank page.
At the moment the browers is showing.... http://www...../my_admin_folder/orde...age=1&oID=1642
and I get a *oops this page is broken* and then I have to log in again.
I am not actually getting error messages, it's just kicking me out of my admin.
The webshop itself works okay

Re: Edit Orders v3.0 for Zen Cart 1.3.9 Support Thread
Ask the person installing this for you to post the contents of the error log that Zen Cart generates whenever you get a blank or erroneous page. (it's in the "cache" folder of your store..)
The error message is puzzling.. No one else has reported it.. and it may not mean anything, but it may mean you are having a different issue.. and I can't say for sure until I see the contents of the log file..
Please speak with the person installing this for you to provide more details on the issue you are having.. It helps to have specifics..

I believe in *learn by doing*, and seeing as the *other person* is not available till late tomorrow I will try this myself. :)
I have found the Cache and the logs. There were to many and so using logic and common sense (which could have been nonsense. lol ) I deleted the reports first. Then I went into my admin and played around doing the usual things (kept checking error log and no entry).
I then went to edit an invoice, made some changes and clicked on update, and as usual I got kick out of admin and got an error page. I tried to do this in English and also in my default language (german) and neither worked.
The Cache had 5 new reports, and they all contained the same information...... here a copy .
PHP Code:
PHP Warning: require(includes/languages/2.php) [<a href='function.require'>function.require</a>]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/www/webXXX/html/webshop/my_admin_folder/includes/init_includes/init_languages.php on line 35

Re: Edit Orders v3.0 for Zen Cart 1.3.9 Support Thread
Right.. I can see that but I am not clear what you are asking.. As this is a Super Orders screenprint I'm still not clear what you want to do in Edit Orders..
Edit Orders calculates all the taxes and the result of those edits can be seen in the order details.. (as your screen shot displays) What am I missing here??? I am unclear if you are reporting is something that is not calculating as it should or if what you are asking about and enhancement to the Edit Orders interface..

This is better and more detailed information very helpful thanks.. It looks like you may indeed have the same issue as sanji and ScriptJunkie.. I am awaiting word back from sanji and ScriptJunkie to confirm the fix.. Once I get their confirmation I will submit the change to the downloads section.. Please bear with me.. I think we've got a handle on it now..

Just an expression, was teasing.... :cool: As I said in one of my other posts, I find this to be one of the most helpful forums I have come across. I tried to use another Webshop software before I found ZC (thank goodness!), and there they often verbally hit you if you didnt ask things right, give enough info...and and and.

Yeh, but you still did it nicely and you took the time to poke me in the right direction -> the CACHE and where it is. :D You see, what I think some programmers dont understand is that we can't tell you more then what we know ourselves. What is logical for some people, is like duhhhhhhhhhhhh for others (pokes at herself now..haha).
Now I am smarter then I was 2 hours ago.....I know where to find the error logs..... :clap:

Re: Edit Orders v3.0 for Zen Cart 1.3.9 Support Thread
And comparing this to the previous screenshot aside from the weighted subtotal, I am concerned also about the $1.13 tax discrepacy bwtween the original and edited order.. I believe that this is due to an exchange rate difference between the original and edited order.. In any case the weighted sub-total aside, the order totals appear correct and as such I am un-sure if this is a Super Orders or Edit Orders issue or both.. Will take a look.. No promises on when this will be addressed.. Not sure of the nature (or true source) of the issue..

Just for your info there shouldn't be any exchange rate difference as there is only one currency available with all others removed and only one country and one tax rate for Australia.
Values only change on the use of edit orders update.
Thanks

But as you can see there IS a discrepancy between the two screenshots.. and if what you are saying is true and the order wasn't submitted in another currency (order was submitted in Australian currency) then wouldn't the tax shown BEFORE editing be wrong?? If not you will need to explain to me why not.. Cause the original looks off by 1.13..

Thank you so much Diva, for your assistance :)

I believe the tax discrepancy is to do with the shipping amount.
When the order is created from the store front the shipping amount includes tax or in my case GST (10%). This is then shown in the GST value (should really read GST Included Amount) When you go into edit orders it assumes that tax is not included on the shipping rate as the field 'Shipping Tax Rate' is at 0.0%. If you change that to 10% it then increases the $12.50 by 10%.
This is where the $1.13 comes from. $12.50 divided by 11 to give the the tax amount.
What I believe could happen is that the tax rate should be taken from the shipping module tax rate if that makes sense. with the option to decrease the tax rate.
But I am not expert at this.
Thanks
Damien.

Re: Edit Orders v3.0 for Zen Cart 1.3.9 Support Thread
The original order totals still don't add up.. and I don't really get what/where the figures shown are coming from (with the exception of the weighted subtotal)
What I see different between the two examples is that the subtotal DOES not include taxes and the tax amount is different by $1.13 (original order displays the taxes $1.13 higher). In other words based on the data displayed for the original order I cannot back into the grand total based on the values displayed. The edited order I can add up the order totals values and get to the grand total..
Not trying to be a PITA, but I do need to understand how you expect these order totals to display and why.. I'm not clear ont why the original order IS correct.. Other than seeing the weighted sub-total on the original order the rest of those order totals don't add up..

Cool.. Thanks for letting me REALLY test this.. It was a BIG help!!!
One thing.. There's an update that I have not yet applied to Super Orders that I have appied to your store.. You do not need to use the common_order_functions.php file in Super Orders.. I loaded what will be the new one in your store when I put everything back..

Your not being a PITA.
In Australia all prices display are required to show the total price, ie tax inclusive price.
In the first screen shot the totals are as they should appear. Sub-Total Inc Tax (makes sense as in the table it is under the Total (Incl) Column). The shipping value includes tax of $1.13 ($11.36 +$1.13(gst tax amount - 10%)) The tax amount shown is all the GST tax amount in the order from the products and shipping. ie the order value divided by 11.
When you go into edit orders it assumes that there is not tax on the shipping value and has the shipping tax field set at 0.0%. It then also displays the Sub-Total amount as the ex-tax price. When you go into edit order the value of $12.50 (tax inclusive) is taken across and not the ex-tax value of $11.36 plus the 10% tax.
The GST (tax value) as I mentioned earler should just be a notification of the tax amount for the total order.

Re: Edit Orders v3.0 for Zen Cart 1.3.9 Support Thread
Okay sanji and ScriptJunkie have confirmed that my fix solved their issue.. I need to test it on my test store, and I'll bundle this up and submit it in the next 24 hours..
To Sanji:
Merci à Sanji pour le fichier de langue française pour traiter des ordres .. Je suis sûr qu'il a bien rigolé quand il a vu mes fichiers Google Translate..:laugh::laugh:

One thing.. There's an update that I have not yet applied to Super Orders that I have appied to your store.. You do not need to use the common_order_functions.php file in Super Orders.. I loaded what will be the new one in your store when I put everything back..

I found a spot in the edit orders file where you can set the tax rate which I did to test however this only adds the 10% to the shipping rate and not assume that the shipping rate already has tax included in the price.
Thanks
Damien.

Hi,
Sorry to be a bother, but I am sort of stuck here with a webshop that has a mod that that is not only not funtioning :( .
Is it possible to put the fix here so that we can make the changes ourselves or is it better I uninstall it, and reinstall when you until you have time to put in the update??
My should be going live this week, and I don't feel comfortable with a mod that is not functioning :(
Thank you for letting me know, so that I can move on with this

Better to move forward with your implementation until the update is ready.. It's up to you how to, but for now you can simply opt to NOT click any of the Edit Orders buttons.. The error only occurs when you attempt to use it.. Won't hurt to leave it in place..

SMH..:no: Goodness gracious I DO hope you can appreciate that this is a VOLUNTEER effort on my part....:no:
I can appreciate that you are waiting, and while I do apologize for the delay I'm ONE person who also works FULL TIME.. If I MUST explain where I've been, we just had a holiday weekend and I was tied up with family, personal stuff and other work..
I am working on the update to Edit Orders and as I posted previously, I will update THIS THREAD once I have the update ready and submitted to the downloads.. Also you do understand that submitting the update is HALF of the equation.. The Zen Cart admins must APPROVE the submission before it will be available to download.. The admins try to get those approvals turned around in 7 days, but they too are busy so sometimes it may take a little longer..
In any case I am working on bundling this update, and when it is submitted (will be this week) I will post that information HERE. (as I have done before) When it is approved and available to download I will then also post that update HERE.. (also as I have done before)
Please be patient..

Sure..:smile: wasn't trying to "hit you", but wanted to make sure that you are clear that if I do not have enough FREE time to work on this, that there may be delays..
PLUS there are other minor fixes I am also including in this next Edit Orders update.. I would prefer to make sure they all work and submit ONE update versus a flurry of minor updates to ease things for those wanting this mod. After making sure everything works, I must update the readme documentation, AND while doing this I still have to manage my real-life responsibilities.. **shrug**
I've been more than open and COMMUNICATIVE on this support thread and a few days of silence on the matter should not suddenly be interpreted as "support to this mod stopped"..:(
So while I would have liked to have submitted this over the weekend, it just didn't work out that way.. Sorry for the inconvenience.. I will work to get everything submitted THIS WEEK..:smile:

Re: Edit Orders v3.0 for Zen Cart 1.3.9 Support Thread
There was no need to justify. You did hit me, but if you felt that I was being rude, pushy or ungrateful for your help, then I stand corrected. It's okay. It's always very hard to say things in these forums without knowing how they are understood and if they get taken the wrong way. I try not to clutter these forums with long explanations, but obviously one liners are not appreciated either :blink:
It seems from the 3 people that came here asking for support with this mod, I am basically the only one left that still has the problem, so maybe alittle bit of understanding on your part would also be appreciated.
In my defense I just want to say.......
I transfered existing datas from my oscommerce shop, and so have at the moment 35 open invoices that I need to changed, which is why I put this mod on in the first place. I understand that is not your problem, I just want you to understand my side as well.
So that you can finish this mod in your own time, and I can finish my orders, and get this shop up and running asap.....we have installed an older version of Edit orders (with a few minor adjustments) and it works perfectly. :clap: It's obviously not as good as yours, but has the options I need to finish my work and stop harrassing you. :blush:
So whenever you are ready, let us know and I will go look for your updated version :smile:
Again, I apologise if I came across as rude and impatient.
Admins....feel free to delete this post after DivaVocals has read it :) I don't want to start negative posting here.....I am really grateful for everything all you volunteers do here ... you too DivaVocals :)

I DO understand.. ScriptJunkie's issue was fixed as a byproduct of her allowing me to use her site to get to the bottom of the issue and sanji had been working on his own on the fix, so it was EASY for he and I to work offline to verify that my fix on ScriptJunkie's site worked on his site as well.. There are other fixes that I need to include so I couldn't just fire off the update until EVERYTHING is tested and working together..

Sounds like a good workaround.. There are obviously functional gaps between the versions, but it sounds like it'll get you to where you want to be for the momemt... and like I have said, the plan is to get this done and submitted THIS week.. and you will be the VERY first person to know.. :smile:

As I said in the other thread.. You have some setting in your browser that is preventing you from viewing the readme file properly.. Fix your browser or try viewing the readme in another browsers..

Re: Edit Orders v3.0 for Zen Cart 1.3.9 Support Thread
There seems to be something not quite right with using v3.0 for Zen Cart 1.3.9H
As soon as I do step 3 of the procedure - upload the first batch of files, I can no longer login to my admin site. If I try going to the admin login page, all I see is a blank screen. I have tried a couple different installs and the same thing each time. I reloaded my admin folder from backup, and all is well again. After a little exploration I found that if I do step 3 my admin login page is blank.
-
Re: Edit Orders v3.0 for Zen Cart 1.3.9 Support Thread
Post the contents of the error log that Zen Cart generates whenever you get a blank or erroneous page. (it's in the "cache" folder of your store..) Should give an indication of what the issue is..
And when you say "Step 3 of the procedure" I assume you mean the third step when adding a product to an order???

Re: Edit Orders v3.0 for Zen Cart 1.3.9 Support Thread
Hi DivaVocals,
When I say step 3, I mean step 3 of the installation instructions for the mod. as below....
Basic Installation Instructions
1. Unzip the package contents to a temp directory
2. Rename all of the YOUR_ADMIN_FOLDER folders from the 1_Install_Files folder to match the name of your admin folders respectively.. Let me repeat this as this is the one step in module installs that most OFTEN gets overlooked/missed
Rename all of the YOUR_ADMIN_FOLDER folders to match the name of your admin folders respectively
3. Upload ALL the files in the 1_Install_Files folder to your store directory. The directory structure within these folders is like your Zen Cart store's folder structure
the log file says: [07-Jan-2011 17:54:33] PHP Fatal error: Cannot redeclare zen_db_scrub_in() (previously declared in /home/mccarthy/public_html/store/macFie_62/includes/functions/extra_functions/common_orders_functions.php:30) in /home/mccarthy/public_html/store/macFie_62/includes/functions/extra_functions/super_orders_functions.php on line 166
-
Re: Edit Orders v3.0 for Zen Cart 1.3.9 Support Thread
Are you running Super Orders v1.3.9??? Because the error indicates that you probably are.. (as the error indicates, both Super Orders and Edit Orders are attempting to declare the same function) If so you need to follow the instructions for Super Orders 1.3.9..
From the Edit Orders readme file:
Quote:
Super Orders Users
If you have installed
Super Orders and would like to use
Super Orders with
Edit Orders please read the "How to Use" tab
- IMPORTANT!!!! Super Orders v1.3.9 users:
PLEASE READ the "How to Use" tab. There is a Super Orders update that is REQUIRED to use Edit Orders v3.03 with Super Orders v1.3.9. (Without this update you WILL get blank page errors when using Edit Orders v3.02 with Super Orders v1.3.9)
This update is NOT required for Super Orders v3.0x

ok. I'll try that. The install instructions for edit orders looked like it was sequential instructions, and that the super orders part was something to be done afterward because it was listed later.

Nope that's why I called out Super Orders 1.3.9 specifically on the installation tab in the readme.. We made changes to better align Super Orders v3.0 and Edit Orders v3.0 an in doing so, it required a slight change to those who may not be upgrading to Super Orders v3.0. (though we hope you'll give Super Orders v3.0 a looksee!:smile:)

I don't get the error anymore, but I must not be doing something correctly or in the right order perhaps? I don't see any edit button when I launch orders or superorders. :frusty: Suggestions?

Just for clarification, I did the superorders 139 portion first as you mentioned, then went back and did the rest of the install instructions.

Did you merge the super_orders.php and orders.php correctly with your existing super_orders.php and orders.php files.. That's where the code for the "Edit" buttons is and it's pretty clearly marked if you are using a file comparison program.. Are you running any other mods which made modifications to these same files??

Re: Edit Orders v3.0 for Zen Cart 1.3.9 Support Thread
I went to the how to use section (as you mentioned, because I have version 139 of superorders installed) which told me to upload the superorders patch files, & run the sql.
Then, I went back to the install instructions and uploaded the files in the 1_install folder, then did the core edits where I compared the orders.php supplied with the original one as indicated. I merged all of the differences from the new one into the old one as I didn't see anything that looked like an edit I would have done. Then I ran the sql as it instructed. I logged out and back in to be certain, and I don't see any edit button. :blink:
-
Re: Edit Orders v3.0 for Zen Cart 1.3.9 Support Thread
In orders.php find this:
Code:
// check if order has open gv
Post the 4-5 lines just above this.. PLEASE use the forum code or PHP tags so this is easier to read.
Then find this:
Code:
Begin add Edit Orders icons to order list
and post the line immediately following..
If you are not seeing the "Edit" buttons, the only possible reason is that the code for those buttons is missing or something else is installed incorrectly....

and to make sure that you have installed everything in it's proper location, try this. Open ANY order in your store..
Make note of the order ID # and replacing the highlighted values below with the values from your store enter the following URL into your browser.
http://yourdomain.com/YOUR_ADMIN_FOLDER/edit_orders.php?page=1&oID=ORDER_ID#&action=edit

PHP Code:

I didn't find what you asked for the second one, but I did find the following:
PHP Code:

$contents[] = array('align' => 'center', 'text' => '<a href="' . zen_href_link(FILENAME_ORDERS, zen_get_all_get_params(array('oID', 'action')) . 'oID=' . $oInfo->orders_id . // End add Edit Orders button to lower buttons

Re: Edit Orders v3.0 for Zen Cart 1.3.9 Support Thread
when I type in the line gave, I do get the page I expect to see (a few images seem to be missing though). I do see the fields that can be edited. If I select orders or superorders, instead of .....edit_orders.php....I get Superorders... and can't edit anything.
and now I can't access my admin login page anymore.
The log file shows:
PHP Code:

I've obviously done something wrong. Suggestions on how to correct it gratefully accepted!:blush:

Re: Edit Orders v3.0 for Zen Cart 1.3.9 Support Thread
If you have read through this support thread, you would see that the language issue has been discussed and is addressed in the pending release. Please see the posts regarding the upcoming release and the previous discussions about the language error.. (this is why it's ALWAYS helpful to read through the support threads.. often there's lots of GOOD data already posted..:smile:)
PM me if you want to get this new 3.03 release right now.. If you'd prefer to wait for the admins to approve, then no sweat.. The offer is there if you like..:smile:

I've obviously done something wrong. Suggestions on how to correct it gratefully accepted!:blush:
As for the missing edit button, I'm pretty certain that you've not fully brought over all the Edit Orders changes for both orders.php and super_orders.php
There are three edits and they are clearly commented as follows:
<!--Begin add Edit Orders button to bottom button set -->
<!--Begin add Edit Orders icons to order list -->
// Begin add Edit Orders button to lower buttons
If you are not seeing these comments in your orders.php file, then you are missing the code to add the various edit buttons and icons..

Re: Edit Orders v3.0 for Zen Cart 1.3.9 Support Thread
Then something is wrong on your side.. I am looking at the code in the EXACT file you got in that zip file.
The modified orders.php file included in the Edit Orders fileset (found in the 2_Required_Core_Edits folder) adds the edit buttons. The modifications are clearly marked can be found in the following locations:
Lines 624-626
Lines 831 - 833
Lines 928-930
I don't know why you don't see these changes.. I just TRIPLE CHECKED the files and they are indeed there..
Some things to consider:
- What are you using to find this code??
- What are you using to merge the changes into your existing orders.php file???
- What are you using to unzip the files??
- What are you using to FTP the files to your site??
The issues you are having with getting these changes to "stick" may very well be due to the tools you are using to achieve these changes..

The details button only displays the order details page (as it should). The missing edit buttons and icons can only be due to all the required changes not being incorporated to your orders.php file..

Wouldn't be helpful to get your files.. I already know the required code is missing.. As for personally taking a look at your site, I'm afraid that I'm a LOT slammed today and wouldn't have the time to take a look at your site.. E-mail the information and if I have some free time later I might be able to take a look.. Re: Edit Orders v3.0 for Zen Cart 1.3.9 Support Thread
You seem to be slamming me i your last post for asking pertinent questions,but I'm trying to be helpful by providing as much info as possible in my notes. I know what it's like trying to troubleshoot in a void. I work in change/release management, have worked in development, QA, Production Support and created installation and trainiing manuals for complex custom systems. I upgrade and patch complex systems on a regular basis and have been doing so for 20 + years. I can follow instructions. The first rule of any upgrade or patch procedure is that any prerequisite steps or procedures are always identified in advance and placed in the sequence necessary for a successful install. A note half way down the page and third tab in the list doesn't exactly indicate a sequential order of operations, but that's ok because I now know what you meant, and it could be corrected without major effort. No harm done.
I find all 3 of those sections now. I don't know why they wouldn't find earlier.
I am using latest edition of Fetch, latest edition of TextWrangler. I use an iMac for a desktop.

There is no edit button. If I select an order to view and substitute the word "edit_orders.php" for the word "superorders.php" in my browser address bar, I see what I should see to edit an order. The blank screen issue no longer occurs. i'm hoping you can see what's missing from the orders.php file that I am not recognizing. I didn't develop this, so I have no knowledge of it's inner workings. Let me know if you would like any pieces of superorders.php and I will post them here.

Re: Edit Orders v3.0 for Zen Cart 1.3.9 Support Thread
:ohmy: Not slamming anyone at all..
Simply put the install is straightforward.. If all the files needed are in place, then it should just work.. If it doesn't then that is indicative of something missing that should be there.. That's not a slam.. just a statement of what the situation is.. Sorry you are taking this the wrong way.. I am simply trying to get to the bottom of the issue 'tis all..

Since I cannot see your store files I can only make suggestions based on the information you've provided..
If the code that drives the edit buttons and icons is in place then there's no reason they won't work unless something else is missing, and there's one more thing that occurred to me that it MIGHT be..
So let me ask this.. Based on the information you've provided it sounds like you are using Super Orders 1.3.9 and you made the Super Orders "Optional Edits" which re-directs any calls for orders.php to super_orders.php..
You've made the changes in the super_orders.php from the Super Orders patch files correct - including running the SQL patch??
If so did you turn on the Edit Orders buttons from Super Orders? (should be the last option in the Super Orders admin..)
Admin > Configuration > Super Orders
AND did you activate the Super Orders buttons in Edit Orders??
From the Edit Orders readme:
Quote:
Super Orders v1.3.9 or v3.0 users: If you'd like to update the Edit Orders navigation buttons with navigation buttons that take you back to super_orders.php (versus the default orders.php), go to Admin > Configuration > Edit Orders. Set the "Super Orders Module Switch" to "True" to activate the Super Orders navigation buttons in Edit Orders.
If not.. try making both of those changes.. I see that this instruction somehow got dropped from the Edit Orders readme.. (I do know I had the information in an earlier draft of the Edit Orders readme file)
If that doesn't work, then e-mail me your FTP and store login information and I'll try and find some time later this evening to take a look..

In order to provide sequential instructions I would have had to repeat the same full set of instructions in a number of ways in order to accommodate every POSSIBLE module combo supported by Edit Orders.. Not every shopowner is using Super Orders or even Ty Package Tracker..
In order to provide the required information and accommodate for the fact that not all shopowners installing Edit Orders will be using Super Orders or Ty Package Tracker this information was placed below the standard install and upgrade instructions..

I mis-spoke.. It was indeed included in the readme on the "How to Use" tab.. Perhaps I'll move it to the Super Orders section above..

Re: Edit Orders v3.0 for Zen Cart 1.3.9 Support Thread
Super_orders 139 is installed, and whether I click on Customer> orders or Customer>super orders, what app[ears is super_orders. I do not have a super_orders option under Admin>Configuration.
Per your earlier explanation/direction, I copied over the files for 3_super_orders (you have a trivial typo, the instructions say 4_super_orders), then I ran the super_orders sql, then I copied over the files from 1_Install Files, then I copied over 2_Required_Core_Edits, then I ran the edit_orders_install sql. I have set the switch under Configuration Edit Orders to True. I'm half asleep right now, so I hope what I wrote above doesn't have too many typo's in it. :lamo:
Do you think it might help any if I were to install Super_Orders 3?
Cheers!

What I think right now based on the behavior you describe is that you seem to have Super Order installed in an unusual way..
If you applied the "Optional Edits" in Super Orders then you would no longer see "Orders" at all in the Customer menu you would only see Super Orders.. The behavior you describe sounds as if only part of the Super Orders optional edits were completed (hence why regardless of whether you go to Customers > Orders or Customers > Super Orders, you are only directed to the Super Orders page.
Finally if you do not see a Super Orders option under the Configuration menu then something is wrong with your Super Orders install and you will not be able to activate the Edit Orders buttons in Super Orders. This is most likely the reason why you do not see the "Edit" buttons in Super Orders..
Again.. I cannot see your store, and I am posting my assumptions based on the information you have provided..
If Super Orders is indeed installed in the manner I have described, I suspect you will have a very hard time installing Super Orders 3 because you would need to look directly in your database to find out whether or not the configuration table changes needed to view the Super Order configuration menu are in the right place..

Highlander,
I been working with DivaVocals on on this modification for Super Orders 3.0 since it's release along with a few other devs just by following your posts and notes I have reinstalled this module at least 10 times and cannot recreate your error. To give us a better understanding have you by chance ever had Edit Orders installed previously to Super Orders 3.0?
If not then it is very possible either a file got corrupted during your upload to the FTP or you are missing files. Or you could have improperly installed the SQL file that is included. If you had Super Orders 2.0 installed run the uninstall_super_orders_prior_versions.sql that is included with Super Orders 3.0 folder if you did not have Super Orders 2.0 installed run this file super_orders_uninstall_v30.sql instead and start all over.
I have put a little guide for you to do and once finished post back your results it will be below this post
First and foremost try uninstalling any versions of Edit Orders previous to Super Orders 3.0 if you had it installed if you do not have the previous version of edit orders you can download it here go through the readme.txt and remove any modifications you did to any files that were described in the old version or upload new files from the 1.3.9h version install folder and start over
Small Guide: (Assuming you are using out of the box php files (no modifications of any kind) or on a test store, do this at your own risk.) I highly recommend you doing this with a test site rather then a live site this way you know for sure no other modifications are interrupting your Super Orders 3.0 install and just IN CASE make things worse
If Edit Orders Was Installed Previously: Or over write with new php files from the 1.3.9h folder of zencart
1. Remove any code you may have added from the readme.txt in Edit Orders Version: 1.5.3 to 1.3.9h version or Upload brand new files
2. If installed (Super Orders 2.0) remove this version completely from your installation including the sql
3. Uninstall Super Orders 3.0 you have installed and run the uninstaller SQL included with the modification so you know that the tables have been removed from the database and remove any files you uploaded from the Super Orders 3.0 Folder including the optional addons as well if any are installed
Install New Super Orders 3.0 (Since Edit Orders is included with the module the old version is no longer needed)
1. Upload all files inside the 1_Install_Files directory. Be sure to rename YOUR_ADMIN_FOLDER to your actual admin directory, in a default install of 1.3.9h it is named zc_admin <-- use this for reference to yours
2. Upload the files directory 2_Required_Core_Edits. Be sure to rename YOUR_ADMIN_FOLDER to your actual admin directory, in a default install of 1.3.9h it is named zc_admin <-- use this for reference to yours
3. Okay with step 1 and 2 out of the way, JUST IN CASE if you are installing one of the OPTIONAL add-ons which are a1_USPS_W_INFO_AT_A_GLANCE, a2_FEC, a3_COWOA you cannot just drop these into your ftp due to the fact one addon will over write the other ones, so if you are trying to use all three you will have to merge them all into one. JUST IN CASE, covering all bases. Right now only install the required files in step 1 and 2
4. Instead of opening the SQL file and pasting the database go to your admin --> tools --> Install SQL Patches click the browse button, go to the folder where Super Orders 3.0 is and upload the actual SQL file super_orders_install_v30.sql to your database this is more accurate then pasting it directly into the box
5. DO NOT install these SQL query's super_orders_upgrade.sql or super_orders_ty_tracker_upgrade.sql at the point because they will not be installed with Super Orders 3.0 if you have these mods installed already you can run these at a later time if they are required.
6. Now if you do not have Super Orders LINK in your Customers Drop down menu this means you are missing the link to super orders which will be in the folder 3_Optional_Files however if you have other mods that effect this menu you may need to merge the Super Orders in and a good program for you to use which is simple is winmerge its free and you can Google search if it need be. Nevertheless a test order will be a clean install and you can just drop this into that test store ftp all you need to do is rename the YOUR_ADMIN_FOLDER to your actual admin directory
7. Now when this is all said and done see if you have Super Orders under your configuration Menu in the admin and see if Super Orders appears in the Customers drop down.
I hope this helps you out. ALSO note I take no responsibility for the above guide all edits, modifications are to be completed at your own risk. Good Luck

Re: Edit Orders v3.0 for Zen Cart 1.3.9 Support Thread - split Tax
Hello!
Thanks for your great extension edit_orders_v3.03.
I'm using Zen_cart 1.3.9.g german version. It's a compleet new install for testing.
So far edit_orders is working properly. Just when I set up the shop to show split taxes its given trouble. The tax rate isn't stored properly in table orders_total.
A litle example:
After ordering some Products in shop the order total details are shown properly in admin, see the 1st screenshot.
7% tax = 14€
19% tax = 38€
sum = 52€
After editing the order and pressing the update button the tax isn't stored properly anymore. The tax gets summed together and stored 2 times in both lines of table, see 2nd screenshot.
7% tax = 52€
19% tax = 52€
sum = 104€
cause of this the total price to pay is to high.
In my opinion thats just a problem while storing data into the database. I'm not sure where to find the sql-statement for storing that data.
Thanks for your support.

Re: Edit Orders v3.0 for Zen Cart 1.3.9 Support Thread
Hello Knuckle101. Thanks for jumping in. Thanks also to DIVA for her continued help. :clap: I'll continue looking through this and will let you know what I find and will post results and questions if needed. It will be a bit before I can return here as I must leave due to work. One clarification for you, I don't have super_orders 3.0 installed. It's an older version,having gone through the numerous upgrades of zencart to this point. I can't recall when it was installed or by whom at this point. Most of the upgrades have been handled by myself, but not every one. At least i know at this stage that I can overtype with edit_orders.php if I need to. Thankfully, everything else seems to be working flawlessly. I'm beginning to wonder about the advantage of editing orders now that I've moved to online payment processing, and the confusion and workload it might cause to refund and recharge etc :shocking:

Re: Edit Orders v3.0 for Zen Cart 1.3.9 Support Thread - split Tax
Not a simple fix. As this version of Edit Orders is simply an upgrade of sturner's excellent work (see version history in the readme), this is a known limitation of Edit Orders that has existed for some time.
These threads may provide some insight:
It remains to be seen whether or not we will be addressing this in the upcoming updates.. This is a complex modification. So I cannot say when or even IF this will be addressed.. Stay tuned..

Re: Edit Orders v3.0 for Zen Cart 1.3.9 Support Thread
Just a reply to a couple of posts on the previous page about the missing "Edit" button.
For those who do not know and have had the same problem. This is NOT in the instructions. As per the instructions:
What was failed to mention in the above is that you also have to go to "Configuration", "Super Orders" and change the "Edit Orders Module Switch" to "True".
Once I did that I got the "Edit" button.

Ummm actually the readme DOES include these very instructions... Just below the instructions you posted is this..

Super Orders v3.0 has similar instructions in the SO readme.. It was ONLY included in Edit Orders for Super Order v1.3.9 users who are NOT upgrading.. (as was the case for highlander)
Just so it's CLEAR, these are two different admin settings meant to do two very different things.
- Add Super Orders buttons to Edit Orders page
- Add Edit Orders buttons to Super Orders page
If you want BOTH, you must activate BOTH..
In highlanders case he does not seem to have a Super Orders menu in configuration so there is no admin optionto activate until he resolves the issue about why his Super Orders confirguration menu is missing..

Re: Edit Orders v3.0 for Zen Cart 1.3.9 Support Thread
Admin login lost when updating.
I updated this mod from v 3.02 to 3.03 on my zc 1.3.9h (test site only). I lost my admin login, replaced with a blank page. Front end of store worked fine.
Peeking in the cache/debug files, I was getting a "can not re-declare zen_bd_scrub in ()..." message. This was in ref to admin/includes/functions/extra_functions/common_orders_functions.php.
When I edit/merge or replace files there is always a .bak file created - I don't know if this is a zen cart thing or a windows thing. But anyway, common_orders_functions.php.bak was clearly not playing nice with the new file. When I removed the .bak file everything returned to normal and my login worked fine.
I post this in case someone else hits the same snag ;o)

Re: Edit Orders v3.0 for Zen Cart 1.3.9 Support Thread
Great point!!!:smile:
This DEFINITELY a Zen Cart thing, and I ran into the same kind of issues myself when testing this and other modules.. Apparently Zen Cart doesn't like it when you keep previous versions of other files. So regardless as to whether you are installing this module or others, if you are doing file merges, ALWAYS make sure that you do not upload the .bak files your file merge program may create.. AND do not even upload previous version of the same files along with the new version (even if you rename them you may run into erros from blank pages or other related errors)

Re: Edit Orders v3.0 for Zen Cart 1.3.9 Support Thread
I've run into the 'blank admin' issue.
I initially installed ver 3.02 per instructions and everything looked fine except the 'update' button was not showing in the orders. Once I clicked where the button should be, everything went away.
So I came here, found the new version 3.03, followed the directions in it. Same result. Blank admin.
I went thru and removed all of the Edit Orders files, reuploaded the original 1.3.9h orders.php and ran the uninstall sql via phpMyAdmin in cpanel (since I couldn't access my admin to do it).
It's still blank and I'm getting the following in my debug file:
Code:
[21-Jan-2011 23:17:01] PHP Warning: require(includes/languages/1.php) [<a href='function.require'>function.require</a>]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/xxxxxx/public_html/xxxxxx/includes/init_includes/init_languages.php on line 35
[21-Jan-2011 23:17:01] PHP Warning: require(includes/languages/1.php) [<a href='function.require'>function.require</a>]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/xxxxx/public_html/xxxxx/includes/init_includes/init_languages.php on line 35
[21-Jan-2011 23:17:01] PHP Fatal error: require() [<a href='function.require'>function.require</a>]: Failed opening required 'includes/languages/1.php' (include_path='.:/usr/lib/php:/usr/local/lib/php') in /home/xxxxxxx/public_html/xxxxx/includes/init_includes/init_languages.php on line 35
Note: This is the same thing it said when the blank pages originally appeared. So I'm getting the same error even after uninstalling everything which makes no sense to me. I've uninstalled many a mod and everything always went back to normal. :huh:
I'm running:
Zencart version 1.3.9h (new install - not an upgrade)
PHP Version: 5.2.15
Server OS: Linux 2.6.34.6
Database: MySQL 5.1.52
Using Filezilla 3.3.5.1 to FTP
Mods Installed:
User Tracking
Database Backup - MySQL
Easy Populate
Reward Points Suite
Image Handler
Fual Slimbox
Quick Updates
Black-Admin Theme
Sales Report
I tried // out the line referred to in the debug file (includes/init_includes/init_languages.php on line 35) just to see what would happen and the admin did come back, but all the headers/text was fubarbed. (EX: HEADER_TITLE_TOP)
If you can help me figure out how to get my admin back to normal, I will be eternally grateful. :smile:

Re: Edit Orders v3.0 for Zen Cart 1.3.9 Support Thread
Dunno what else to say here.. v3.03 resolves the blank page and language errors. The code that was the cause of the problem is no longer there and there is no other reason for the error to appear unless you have somehow not replaced your current files with the ones from the v3.03 fileset..
Suggest making a backup and doing a file comparison between the v3.03 fileset and files in your store.. I'm fairly certain you will find that somehow the files in place are not from the current fileset..

Re: Edit Orders v3.0 for Zen Cart 1.3.9 Support Thread
Hello Diva et al, Thank you for the great job.
Zen Cart 1.3.9h
Database Patch Level: 1.3.9h
PHP Version 5.2.15
super_orders_30
edit_orders_v3.02
better_together_2.3a
jscroller_sidebox_package_2-1
return_authorization_v2-3-3a
order_total_insurance by Numinix
userCurrency (when a customer logs in currency is auto selected)
simple_google_analytics_ver1-2-2
corner_site_seal_1.0
FR-lang-zen-cart-v1.3.9-1.0 (not being used)
Everything works great, no blank pages no error messages. I have looked through both forums for others with my situation but no luck.
I use Super Orders and Edit orders to simply add a serial# to the product description line. The Edit order page comes up fine except that the tax is set at 0% beside the shipping charge. http://www.marinemagik.com/scr.jpg If I do not insert the correct tax rate before I update the total gets reset to no tax on shipping. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks again for all your hard work.

Re: Edit Orders v3.0 for Zen Cart 1.3.9 Support Thread
Edit Orders has ALWAYS worked this way (hence the on-screen hint that indicates that the shipping tax rate is not saved in the database)

Re: Edit Orders v3.0 for Zen Cart 1.3.9 Support Thread
Run into a "bummer" - Edit order (V3.03) doesn't take multiple taxes as well as ZenCart (1.3.9h). I do understand that this is a minor issue for most, but it would of course be nice if the functionality was consistent throughout the system....
-
Re: Edit Orders v3.0 for Zen Cart 1.3.9 Support Thread
Forgot to mention - it DOES show all the tax classes, but the value is the same in all, which is shouldn't be, as the order contained only one tax this time...
-
Re: Edit Orders v3.0 for Zen Cart 1.3.9 Support Thread
exactly which values ?
tax per each product ?
tax on total ?
-
Re: Edit Orders v3.0 for Zen Cart 1.3.9 Support Thread
Rumbling along.... It would seem like - in edit_orders.php - that it would be smarter to use table orders_products instead of table orders_total, because the former contains real tax values. Assuming one wants to solve the problem!
Forgot to mention that "order totals" is the area, which doesn't work! Every different tax class has the same value. It is the correct value for one of the tax classes, but now it's "everywhere".

Somewhere in the old support thread are Scott's old messages on taxes and Edit Orders WHY it's not as "easy" a fix as it appears (and thus why he did not address this). If I get some time I'll try to look them up and post 'em (I may have already post some of these links here). If you want a FULL understanding of the issue, you should search the old support thread for the search terms "taxes" and "sturner"..

Re: Edit Orders v3.0 for Zen Cart 1.3.9 Support Thread
OK, but using table orders_products instead of table orders_total to keep the taxes apart, would seem a good way to go!? What then remains is to update the table orders_total with the new values. Yes?
-
Re: Edit Orders v3.0 for Zen Cart 1.3.9 Support Thread
can u show an example of how u want the total to display ?
Because im not understanding what you are trying to acheive.
Do u want to use different tax classes for the products or display different (multiple) tax totals ?
In the current edit_orders it will only display 1 tax total called "ot_tax", as it overwrites.
edit_orders 3.5
PHP Code:
if ($sendtotaltoorders == 2) {
// Update Taxes in TABLE_ORDERS
$Query = "UPDATE " . TABLE_ORDERS . " SET order_tax = '".ot_value."' WHERE orders_id = '".$oID."'";
//die("Line:954: ".$Query);
$db -> Execute($Query);
}
from orders.php
PHP Code:
/*********************************************
* Calculate taxes for this product
*********************************************/
$shown_price = (zen_add_tax($this->products[$index]['final_price'] * $this->products[$index]['qty'], $this->products[$index]['tax']))
+ zen_add_tax($this->products[$index]['onetime_charges'], $this->products[$index]['tax']);
$this->info['subtotal'] += $shown_price;
$this->notify('NOTIFIY_ORDER_CART_SUBTOTAL_CALCULATE', array('shown_price'=>$shown_price));
// find product's tax rate and description
$products_tax = $this->products[$index]['tax'];
$products_tax_description = $this->products[$index]['tax_description'];
if (DISPLAY_PRICE_WITH_TAX == 'true') {
// calculate the amount of tax "inc"luded in price (used if tax-in pricing is enabled)
$tax_add = $shown_price - ($shown_price / (($products_tax < 10) ? "1.0" . str_replace('.', '', $products_tax) : "1." . str_replace('.', '', $products_tax)));
} else {
// calculate the amount of tax for this product (assuming tax is NOT included in the price)
// $tax_add = zen_round(($products_tax / 100) * $shown_price, $currencies->currencies[$this->info['currency']]['decimal_places']);
$tax_add = ($products_tax/100) * $shown_price;
}
$this->info['tax'] += $tax_add;
foreach ($taxRates as $taxDescription=>$taxRate)
{
$taxAdd = zen_calculate_tax($this->products[$index]['final_price']*$this->products[$index]['qty'], $taxRate)

} else

Yes, we do have 4 different tax classes. The only one in the picture that should contain a value other than 0 is "13%".

Re: Edit Orders v3.0 for Zen Cart 1.3.9 Support Thread
.. i can fix that. (will need array dumps or dev access)
Are you having the following issue:
after you edit the order, the tax values get changed / overwritten ?

Again you should find Scott's old posts on this topic.. there is a VERY GOOD reason why this doesn't work the way YOU think it should work.. Now I don't remember all details of these old posts, but I do remember that multiple taxes appeared to be a LOT MORE complicated to resolve and that's why Scott never tackled it..

Might be, but then again maybe not... I assume "can be done" if I don't see any major flaw. Tax info is per product and the necessary tax values are saved in orders_products for each product. Updating the orders_total is the only hassle!

What exactly are you going to fix? A new version of edit_order.php would seem enough.
Didn't see your code examples before - current question "3.5"? I'm using Edit Orders V3.03!
