Reward Points Module for ZC v13x

HI,

I was thinking of using this plugin, I have a few questions though..... I currently reward what we call dream dollars to our customers. Is there a way to rename the points to dream dollars? We award $1.00 per purchase is this doable? I also see someone asked if there was a setting to not award points when the customer buys an item using points. This is important, if the customer is getting the item for free because they used points instead of money to purchase the item, if the program awards them points for the free item it would be a loss to me, considering the reward would be $1.00

You can change the name of Reward points to anything you like. You can change it by altering the files in

includes/languages/english/extra_definitions/YOUR_TEMPLATE/reward_points.php
includes/languages/english/modules/order_total/ot_reward_points.php
includes/languages/english/modules/order_total/ot_reward_points_display.php

Yes

You either reward a point for a products, or Reward Points can be calculated on the Order Total or Subtotal (depending on the setting of the Allow Redeem of Reward Points on Order Total or Subtotal configuration).

You can set it up not to give reward points on certain categories.
You can set the limit on how many points can be use on a order. Reward point is very flexible to do a wide rage of things.

I am really anxious to try out this mod in our popular store. However, I just installed the 1.5.0 version into my 1.5.1 test site. All files appear uploaded correctly. However, when I go to the Layout Box controller, there is no "Shopping Cart with Rewards" sidebox.

Could you tell me what would be causing this not to be there?

Again, it's not a matter of enabling it or not. The entry simply isn't there for me to select under the Tools --> Layout Boxes Controller.

Make sure you change all custom folder names to YOUR_CUSTOM_TEMPLATE folder name. Make sure the reward_points.php and the shopping_cart_with_rewards.php files uploaded to includes/modules/sideboxes/YOUR_CUSTOM_TEMPLATE.

Make sure the tpl_reward_points.php and the tpl_shopping_cart_with_rewards.php files uploaded to includes/templates/YOUR_CUSTOM_TEMPLATE/sideboxes

If you have uploaded them correctly make sure the file sizes are correct. Partial uploads will corrupt the data.

If you uploaded Reward Points correctly there's going to be 2 side boxes for you to have the options to activate.

I just installed this mode, but i have one problem:

i have super orders & am using it to update.

IN SUPER ORDERS
When i change status from pending to other status , the pending points doesnt transfer to "earn points"

IN ORDERS (normal )
When i change the status, the pending points will transfer to "earn points"

anyone facing the same? and what to do about it?

The one thing that I mentioned:
for certain product, it has discounted price, hence is it possible to configure that - when points are used, customer pays the "regular price" for that certain product and not a discounted price ? In another word, do this reward full suite module able to differentiate if certain product is having discounted pricing or regular pricing ?

Hi,

I downloaded this plugin to my computer. I read the instructions and I can not unzip this file to my server since it is not a local computer, I also do not have a "my custom template" since this was something I was not aware to make when I started this process, I will have to figure out how to create that when i am done I guess. It's too late to start over. Do I just upload the folders I need? I put zen cart into my main directory on my server. When I clicked upload folder I got a warning msg to download some java application that warned me the plugin has security vulnerabilities.... Any insight on these issues would be greatly appreciated.

Am I missing some configuration issue? I installed the files correctly.......I can see the number of reward points that a product has......when I add something to my cart, I can see the amount of "points" in my shopping cart......and then when I make the purchase, it shows that I have zero points pending.

Even as Admin, when I go to look up the test customer account, it shows zero pending points.

I am attaching a screenshot of my configuration, with hopes that you can see something I need to adjust.

BUMP - In case I wasn't clear in my post directly above this one, here is where I stand with this module.

Everything APPEARS to work, right up until the point that I place my order. After I place my order, I see no PENDING points to award to the customer.

It's almost like the points which were in my shopping cart have disappeared!

Is there something I need to do from an ADMIN perspective to see who is waiting for pending points and assign them to the customer account? When I use the Customers --> Reward Points area, it doesn't show any customers with Pending points, even though I make a purchase for an item that has 30 Points in my shopping cart.

Any ideas on what I can do to make this work?

Edit - I figured it out. Didn't see the Modules -> Order Total configuration.

Hey guys,

I have one problem with the redeemed points & when order is cancelled.

Eg :

1. customer redeem points (eg : redeem 500 points) during check out & gotten the order.

2. What if the customer wanna cancel the order (and we delete it).

3.The redeemed points (500 points) are not going back to "earned" points.


Any solution for this?

I don't use Super Orders but you can try what curt_l did and see if that works for you.

Reward Points only recognizes "Adjust Reward Points for Sales/Specials" Either you use Always use the base price.
or
Use price less Discounts and Specials.

It does not work the way you are describing. You can hire a coder I suppose.

Unzip the Reward Points folder on your computer.
Your shop has a admin folder that is named admin or named to a custom name that you changed it to. You need to put the contents of the Reward Points admin files inside your custom admin folder.
Same thing with the includes folder.
In the includes folder change the name of the custom folder name to the name of your custom folder name that you are using.

Upload of files to your server.

Quick question ---- first off, I LOVE this mod, and it's all working great except for one thing.

In the Zen_Orders_Total table, the module is leaving the VALUE blank ($0.00). So even though the text correctly shows the correct points, the value isn't updated into the database.

Here is a screenshot to show you what I mean:

Is there a code to show the Reward point full suite Group name to the customers?

For example, on the reward point side box, the group name will be shown to the customers.
If I assign the group name "Beautiful Customer" to one customers, then the customer can see his group name(level)


I tried some tricks but no works...

The group name is only showing on the Admin pages... not for the customers.

I'm trying to build the customer membership levels, so I need to display the each group name to my each customer...

I have chosen from the configuration - reward points - Reward Point Status Track - select mode - advanced - all my order statuses (i have more than 50) as pending except one that i call order completed - however all the tests i did and even if i change the order status to order completed - the customer does not earn the points they are still pending all the time - BUT i have noticed that sometimes some customers (the percentage is 1 to 20) earn the points after i change the status of their order to completed!
I even updated the reward points to the latest version for my 1.3.9h zen cart this did not fix the problem.

I have also tried all order statuses as ignored except the default one that puts point to pending and the order completed status that is supposed to put the points to earned.

I can manually change the points from pending to earned for my customers.

I have a test server with this addon installed if someone can help me then please tell me so and i will give all the access details!

Between the update.sql and the new.sql the only difference is the following line

UPDATE `configuration_group` SET `sort_order` = LAST_INSERT_ID() WHERE `configuration_group_id` = LAST_INSERT_ID();

what exactly this line mean - do i have to run the update patch or i may run only the above line if needed?


I just found what is happening - I have super orders addon installed and if i change the status of the order from the super_orders.php?page=1&oID=3911&action=edit page then the reward points just ignore it! But if i change the order status from edit_orders.php?page=1&oID=3911&action=edit then everything works properly!

Can someone tell me what i have to add or change for the super_orders.php to work properly?

I keep seeing errors like this in the cache folder whenever a customers completes an order

I have just installed the latest version of reward points (i had 1.32a version and i upgraded to 1.33a for zen cart 1.3.9h) I just copied the new files over the old ones but i did not run any update sql patch - However i used to see this error and with the previous version)

We recently upgraded to zen-cart 1.51 (new install with ported database from old site).

Reward points is installed but doesn't seem to be working properly. Points are not getting moved from pending to earned, plus a lot of customers seem to have 200 pending points for no particular reason. No points are awarded for new accounts.

I am seeing this error in the logs which seems to be related. The products_id field is not formatted correctly.

Any ideas as to the cause?

I installed this plugin and placed all files in the corresponding folders on my server... However, I have a few issues....
I don't have the following on my admin page
admin-catalog-reward points is not in my menu
admin-configuration-reward points is not in my menu
admin-customer-group reward redeem is not in my list

I also need to know where to change the point values, it seems it is automatically giving 1 point per dollar. I also need to know how i can go in and add points to existing customers who earned them before the module was installed.

Also this is a minor change but I want to change the colors of the font for the reward listings. And I want to change the name to dream dollars. Any help with these issues would be greatly appreciated. TY TY TY -victoria

Did you run the install SQL file?? If not, doing so will probably address most of the issues/questions you have..

I have the rewards box, I changed the rewards name, it adds 1 point per dollar when i put the items in the shopping cart, but I am still missing the menu options that will help me set these options.

You say you got an error when you ran the SQL.. well that's the start of your issue.. No SQL, no admin menu..

Errors = ERROR LOG file created.. Look at your error log and post that here.. It will tell you what happened.. without this information folks can only GUESS what happened, but clearly it's an installation issue..

ok, i uninstalled the new.sql and reinstalled it by opening it in notepad and pasting the file contents into the admin-tools-sqlpatch. I still do not have the menu items in my admin to set the point amounts and to control this module. missing...

I don't have the following on my admin page
admin-catalog-reward points is not in my menu
admin-configuration-reward points is not in my menu
admin-customer-group reward redeem is not in my list

I don't know what else to do I have been trying to fix this for a month and my store launch has been on hold due to it. I see there are others with this issue and they too uninstalled and reinstalled to only get the same result. However they responded they are fixed but no details how they fixed it. Stevesh you were right! When I installed zen cart somehow it created an admin folder named adminurrhtcqq, I also had an admin folder. I moved all the files from the admin folder to the adminurrhtcqq folder and wala I now have menu items!!! I am sooo happy I don't know how to thank you guys! You are the best!! Now I just need to test it. I will keep my finger crossed! I need to try to figure out why I wasn't given the option to rename my own admin folder so this wouldn't have happened.

Hey guys, I would really appreciate some help on this. I just installed the points module for my store running Zen Cart version 1.3.9. and after copying the custom folders over and then running the new.sql from the back of the site in admin>tools>sql patch the module is not running correctly.

It's not completely messed up as the points module option shows up in the configuration menu but when I go to it these three errors come up at the top of the screen...

Forgive me, I am a noob and am slowly getting I am having an issue getting this fully installed. My issue seems to be similar to Beyond Dreams' issue above. I moved everything to the custom folders and I moved everything from the admin folder to my custom admin folder.

The shopping_cart_with_rewards and rewards_points box shows up in my layout boxes controller. There is nothing showing up in the Order Total module for me to configure.

Ultimately at the end of the day Beyond Dreams issue was an installation issue (the most common problems with module installations.. I suggest rolling back your site the state it was before you installed this module (you DID back up before you installed it right????), and start your install over and carefully make sure you have all the files in the right folders and run the installation SQL file.. BTW, when I say rollback it means not only the files, but the database..

Yes, thankfully I have learned to always make a backup before a big change or install.

I suppose I'll restore and try again. I know it has to be an operator error, but I can't seem to figure out where my error is. Third time is a charm, maybe.

It's actually not that mysterious..:smile: It says that you tried to create a DB record which already exists.. To me it indicated that when you restored your site to a pre-install state, you may not have rolled back your DB too.. Suggest running the uninstall SQL and then re-run the installation SQL..

FYI..Use the forum code functions to post code otherwise the forum software will parse things and add smilies to things where they shouldn't be..

I saw the duplicate entry part, and I figured something got added twice but I couldn't figure out where. I did as you suggested, ran the uninstall and then the new.sql again, and no errors.

Well, now I get 404 error when I try to go to Customers>Group Reward Redeem or Customers>Reward Points.

Would this have something to do with table prefixes?

Hi, I installed via the upload from my computer and chose the new.sql
it seemed to install most of it.. I can see the following
Admin>Configuration>Reward Point Configuratioin
Admin>Catalog>Reward Points
Admin>Customers>Group Reward Redeem
Admin>Customers>Reward Points

What I dont see is the Admin>Tools>Layout Boxes Controller (Shopping Cart with Rewards' sidebox ) or the ("Reward Points" sidebox)
nor do they seem to work when I make a sale.. there is no indication in the shopping cart that reward points are being earned.
then after the sale I checked the customers/reward points and there are no pending points.

not sure what to do
any help would be appreciated

i installed the Reward Points Module for zen-cart 1.5.0.
The test costumer buy something and it will be count right.

Now I have 3 questions:

How can i offer my costumers the discount?
I can see nothing in "Step 1 of 2 - Payment Information"

If the points are used, they stay or disappear?
Can not test it now.

Can I add a small refID system?


And one Problem:

When I open "Customer Reward Points Admin"
i see index: ...

but no costumers only the error.

Check your debug logs in /logs and see what is showing when you get that error, they are date stamped ...

I have moved the login links to the head wrapper section in tpl_header.php. I'm trying to include the reward points in there too. I have been examining the code in tpl_header.php as examples to accomplish this without any luck. I tried adding the sidebox code in there which didn't work either. Is it possible to get the reward points to display in the head wrapper? Any help much appreciated.

I'm sorry if this is posted in the wrong place.

I installed reward_point_full_suite_2.1b and it works fine with single prices, but if you have qty discounts it does not give the correct points, it still calculates the points at the single purchase price. so for example:

1-3 8.99
4-10 7.99

if i purchase 10 it will give me the points for the 8.99 price instead of the 7.99 price.

Does anyone know if this works with Super Orders?

I found an issue with the calculation of rewards points when used in conjunction with the 'Rush/Priority Handling' add-on.

Sorry. Not an issue. Resolved by going to Configuration -> Rewards Points Configuration -> Advanced Reward Point Calculation Rules and adding in ot_priority_handling and subtract.

Works like a charm.

I am running, Edit Orders, Super Orders, Rewards Points, Shipping Notifications, and COWOA.

All of the mods were done at roughly the same time and it was quite some time ago, but yes, rewards points are being rewarded properly when the order has been marked 'delivered'.

They are in a pending state in all other instances.

Let me be clear on what I actually said.. what I said was I have NO IDEA if Rewards Points works with Super Orders and that IF it doesn't, that you may need a developer to help you with that if no one in the community can provide an answer for you. The Rewards Points module works with the default order and Super Orders is an enhanced version of the default order. So if they do not work together, it may not take much work to correct that, but I DO NOT know what that would require (or IF a change is required). I also stated that if there were code adjustments needed that I DO NOT know what work would be involved or how much a developer would charge to make the changes needed (IF they are needed). Yes, in a nutshell I think it simply says that they don't work together, I'm sorry I didn't share with him our conversation. And I had misremembered and thought you had said it didn't work together, not that you weren't sure. Forgive my oversight, it was nearly 3AM.

On another note, I wonder if the people who have it working together are working on a prior release rather than the most recent of Super Orders. I have everything I need installed, I'll give it another go, if by chance I figure anything out, I'll be happy to post here. Thanks.

I've just installed the 2.1b reward points module and I found the following issues:

1) Reward point display in product info.
No effect to the reward points display when the Primary Category Reward Point ratio changed. But changing the point ratio of sub-category or product's, the reward pt. display is correct. It will overwrite the global reward pt ratio.

2) Reward Points earned
When check out, the reward points earned ONLY follow the Global reward pt ratio regardless of the product or sub-category pt ratio setting.

(e.g. If I set $100 will earn 100 reward pt (product pt ratio:1) in product point ratio and 50 reward point (global pt ratio:0.5) in global pt ratio at the mean while, it displays 100 pt. will be earned. However, only 50 reward pt earned when checkout.)

I didn't find any error when installation. But I can find the log file mentioned:

My zencart ver is 1.5.1 and PHP Version: 5.2.17 (Zend: 2.2.0)

So i just installed Reward Points (latest version) and having an issue. I've figured out that I can only have Reward Points or Reward Points Tiered Discount active at a time and not both. However, the problem I am running into is that when Either one is active Half the page doesn't load on step 3 of checkout (order confirmation). As soon as I enable the other module (i.e. Reward Points Tiered Discount) it works for roughly 3 page loads then has the same problem. I've run through everything and re-installed twice. Any Ideas? I've tried uninstall then install again and didn't merge any file even the product info layout changed. But same problems occured (mentioned above). This time, there is no any error record in the log file!

That might be in Customers -> Group Reward Points -> Global Points Ratio -> 1.00

I believe one point is rewarded for each dollar spent, so you're being mighty generous.

I have a customer with some reward points in several order but no point appear in her account on store. It seems that all the order with a reward points less than 10 points doesn't work....

Short answer to your question is no. Why in the world would you want to give out fraction of points in the first place. That would be custom code. You will have to hire someone to rewrite the Reward Points module to do that.

If they are not showing in the admin area then you have not installed Reward points right, or a file or files didn't upload all the way. Go back and check your installation of Reward Points.

I figured it would be custom and I'm looking into it. We are using this as a "store credit" reward so customers are given 3% back on every purchase as store credit. It's what my boss wants to have so ... I will make it so. Thanks!

Why don't you try the Store Credits and Rewards Points Module. It might serve your purpose.
That module allows store owners to offer store credit to their customers. Credit can be manually set from the Zen Cart admin, or awarded to customers after each purchase by giving a percentage of their order total as store credits.

It appears that its the first of those sql queries.
However the code appears fine.
The only way that I can see it producing the code thats in the error is if $products_id is corrupt
ie: $products_id = 11178' <- note the trailing apostrophre

We may have to do away with the Rewards points module because I can't figure out what's going on. I do not see any problem with that product id in the DB and it happens with other products as well so it definitely cannot be an issue with the id.

Thanks for helping to troubleshoot though. I am surprised that I am the only one seeing this problem in the log.

Be aware that $products_id is NOT in the database.
It is a php variable that has been assigned somewhere.

p.products_id and p2c.products_id ARE in the database

Have you tried uploading the files again. It could be a corrupt upload.

Thanks so much for the pointer about $products_id. I searched Zen Cart and all the files that uses this seems to have

Hi everyone. I have Super Orders and Edit Orders installed(current) on v1.51, it seems to work well. Until I try to edit an order.

I am able to make edits to an order. But when I try to update and order, I get a blank screen. This is the the error log:

However the edits made to the order are actually saved. Any idea how to fix this? Thank you!

Has anyone gotten pagination to work in admin. With over 250 customers that start with A, it's taking the database ages to pull the report on 250 customers. Ihave even more in S. If I set it to 50 the database pulls the data in a number of seconds, but I can't get to the rest of my customers.

I am also having this issue (and am a complete PHP n00b) on my test site (where I'm trying out Edit Orders for the first time). I have no issues on my main site (where I only have Reward Points and no order plugins). Any thoughts on how to fix? My test site, where I'm encountering this error is running Zen Cart v1.5.1 and Edit Orders 4.1.2, but no Super Orders. I'm using PHP version 5.3.x. Let me know if you need more details.

Sorry if this has been answered before - been looking around and can't find much. This add-on is excellent, however I'm looking for some docs or instructions that explain the workings of this to my customer. Has anyone written a good doc that I could pillage for my site that explains how everything works to my customer base?
