    Presumably Chinese would need the right (UTF-8?) settings in both configuration and database. Are you sure you have that correct everywhere needed?

    it should be correct, but it doesnt matter since even if i add in an english name, it just wouldnt update, i even add directly from the admin and it still couldnt work where it would've worked before.. here's where i add it from the admin, i add "Main Gate" to the chinese text but it doesnt work

    okay i noticed that i cant add a new category from the admin anymore.. and i have this warning:

    WARNING: You have Products in the Top Level Category. This will cause pricing to not work properly in the Catalog. Products found: 1

    what does it mean? how do i fix it?

    i've deleted every product from my zen cart, and even go into my database and delete from there, but the warning is still there, what the hell....

    Look in phpMyAdmin ...

    Look at the table:
    products
    products_description

    are there products in there?

    Look at the table:
    products_to_categories

    are there any references to:
    products_id
    categories_id

    If you say you deleted all products ... you should not see anything in:
    products
    products_description
    products_to_categories

    Do you find anything in those tables?

    thanks, i found one at products_to_categories, deleted it and it's fixed
