Still trying to go through this to figure out why after what appears to have been a clean install at least three times, the same response is appearing at the payment installation for PayPal. In all three cases (if not mistaken two were zipfile uploaded and decompressed on site, one was unzip local and ftp to site) was the same database referenced? I haven't looked through the code to see the execution path after clicking the install button, but there's a number of things that look wrong on the page that displays after clicking install (update page), first is that there is no arrow next to the expected module, then there is nothing below the update option. Have you tried reviewing:

It seems that perhaps this is the problem being encountered. Also, have you tried installing any of the other PayPal options, just to see if get any further/different system response?
