Thanks nrg77. That clears things up for me.

Thanks for posting this, I had been trying to figure this one out, too.
I have a further question.
One of the items I wish to sell is business cards. Customers can order 100, 500 or 1000 cards. The pricing and weight works out correctly, but the "Units in Stock" only reduces by "1" for any given order. Is there a way to make Zen Cart recognize that the number of cards ordered should be decremented from UiS?
It's not a horribly big deal, since I'm a reseller and don't keep any stock, but for public aesthetics, I'd like to make it work "correctly" if possible.
see test store here:

item is "Custom Recruiting Cards"
You can set the QTY OF UNITS to say 100, that will mean the customer has to type 100 for the checkout to go through however there is a downside. Now you will have to seperate out your attributes to seperate products because ZC does not currently cater to attribute level which I believe is because it doesn't have unique ID at the moment.
Another words, it is doable but a big hassle.....It is the same reason why you can't put a certain attribute in special but you can put a special on the product if its not price by attribute.
Hope all that make sense...
You could just disable the display of the number in stock.
