UPS Prices Seem Way too High

Having installed the UPS shipping module, I quickly did a test to find that the shipping prices seem very very high. I turned off tare weight and any other attributes that influence the shipping price. Still, shipping seems to be outrageously expensive. I'm not sure where to begin troubleshooting this, but it just can't be right as it is now.

Any suggestions?

The rates come from the UPS server, not Zen Cart.

I am having the same problem. I go to the UPS website, look up the zone in their documents and ZenCart says $10.59 and the UPS website says $8.02. I am more inclined to believe the UPS website. I also have the tares set to 0. Any thoughts?

Double check the settings in the UPS Shipping module. There is a space there to add a handling charge. Make sure it's empty or set to 0.00

Remember if you have the tare set to zero, you need to add the weight of the shipping materials (box & packing) to the weight of the product. Otherwise you will be quoting the shipping to low.

On the product page I input the weight which included the packaging. I doublechecked the UPS Module and handling is set to 0.

I just checked a different page of the UPS website & the shipping prices on that part of the site are in agreement with ZenCart. I guess the pdf file that hey sent me is wrong.

i have the same problem. the shipping rate is too high. i added a product without attribute. handling fee is 0.00 and weight is 1lb.

but upon check out, it says:
United Parcel Service (1 x 4.00lbs)

where does 3 lbs come from?

ZC version: 1.3.8a

Peek in the Shipping/Packaging at the 3lb tare weight that is being added in and then adjust it according to your needs ...

I have no tare weight or handling charge and my shipping estimator is charging more than the actual rate that is ran though UPS
exp..

• actual UPS $6.76
• amount on estimator & charged client at checkout $ 11.50

• What could I be doing wrong, tare weight is at 0
• Shipping handling is at 0

when you get rates from shippers on ZC you are seeing their published rates,

when you go to the site manually you are seeing your Discount Or List rate...
