Default Installing ZenCart For The First Time - Help Needed.

    Hi,

I have got myself a host (dot5hosting), and in middle of installing ZenCart 1.3.8 for the first time through FTP, using this tutorial https://www.zen-cart.com/tutorials/i...hp?article=107 I am installing on the MASTER FTP account and not created any additional ones.

When i connected the FTP i saw PUBLIC_HTML folder. So inside that folder, i unzipped and uploaded the entire ZenCart Folder, i just renamed the ZenCart folder to CATALOG though, i know it wasn't necessary but i just did. So nowi have the PUBLIC_HTML folder with all my ZenCart files inside it.

I have followed the instructions and now i'm up to STARTING THE INSTALLER section. When i type in my domain, nothing happens, i do not get the welcome message or anything. My domain is www.electrobitz.com Did i need to do something in my host control panel before i started installing? It has a ZenCart installation section in my control panel, but it's the old version of ZenCart, maybe that would have been easier though?

Any help will be appreciated, thanks.

    look at: electrobitz . com/catalog
Since you installed zencart in a folder - you need to use the folder name.

Hi, thanks for the reply. I tried that but nothing happens, it says "internet explorer cannot display webpage" Is it safe to delete that CATALOG folder, and re-install everything again? Thanks.

Yes, I would delete what you've done so far and start again. I think Zencart belongs in the root of your site, so upload the files directly to the public_html folder, and all should be well.

I have deleted the old contents and done a new install but it still doesn't work for me. I just contacted the host company a while ago, and they said their server address must be blocked from my location, which is China. It works perfectly where they are, USA i think.

If you guys try now www.electrobitz.com it probably works for you aswell, let me know if it does, thanks.

I'm seeing the Zencart installation start page here in the US - if you've just uploaded the files, but haven't gone through the installation process, that's what I should see.
