Canada Post Letter Rates

Does anyone actually have CanadaPost returning proper rates for letters?

I have setup proper envelope dimensions at Canada Post servers and in my table rates with no luck.

What am i missing?

Hello dal2009,

I do! Add to the cart and see what happen.

P.S. Look over and make sure that you have not miss anything.

I see that, how did you setup at the Canada Post server? The server does not seem to select my "lettermail" carton.

Actually on the CP server if I look in Shipping Services, letter mail is not an option.

Thank You

Hello dal2009,

You are correct. When you login Canada Post Server you will not see lettermail.

You have to have your table setup correctly for it to work.

Login Canada Post Service

Go to Add/Modify/Delete Boxes

Setup your lettermail like the info below:

Example: Lettermail_Service_1, Lettermail_Service_2 and so on. For the Lettermail Canada Post Module to work it have have Lettermail at the beginning. Check attachment.

Thanks for the tutorial, BUT I have it all setup the same and still this is not working?

Did you modify a file?

CanadaPost claims that they do not offer Lettermail rates so I'm wondering if there is a hidden step not in any manuals.

I'm stumped, I've uninstalled and reinstalled and still only receive pricing for parcels:

See here:

http://www.dalster.com/store/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=42_23_27&products_id=74

Add this product to the cart and you'll see I get no Letter Rates?

Any ideas?

Hello dal2009,

No modification on my part.

Quote from Gord: The height cannot exceed 2 cm for Lettermail rates.

I just make sure that the lettermail dimension is 2 cm and under in height, 27 cm and under in width and 38 cm and under in lenght.

L 38cm x W 27cm x H 2cm

I had the same problem. Then I retrace my steps and I notice that I had a file in the wrong location.

I also contact Gord and he was a big help.

Please check the attachment below.

Is the MACOSX folder needed or the file in there? I assume its for a "Mac" or something,?

I just re-installed the whole module and still nothing??

I have little hair left to pull out, anybody have some suggestions?

Must something small I'm not seeing.

Thank You

Too late to edit above:

Was wondering if it could be a "permissions" problem on any files?

dal2009:

Hello dal2009,

That should have been deleted. Ignore the MACOSX.

Since you are not getting 110-Connection Timeout. You are okay.

Can you show us your Canada Post Server Table image like post 4, your admin Canada Post Module of how you set it up (post 4) and a category product image like post 6?

I've notice that you have Regular Parcel and Expedited Service. These services has the same price. Just 1 is needed. Xpresspost is missing.

Login your Canada Post Server

Go to Shipping Services/Shipping Rate To Canada

Make sure that Priority Courier, Xpresspost, Regular Parcel are check. Uncheck Expedited.

For some reason when I select Expedited Service. Xpresspost will no longer show.

I did a test.
I change the height of Lettermail envelopes to this:
Example: L 31 cm x W 27 cm x H 3 cm - Under 0.500 kg or 500 g

By having the height no longer 2 cm for Lettermail. The module start giving Lettermail shipping price to items that cannot ship by Lettermail. For items under 0.500 kg or 500 g.

When I correct the Lettermail back to 2 cm in height. It worked as it should.

I hope someone else would come around. The more heads together would be great.

Sure, here you go:

IT WORKS!!!! :clap::clap::clap::clap:

Here was the problem after countless hours of checking everything, hopefully this post saves a lot of people time.

Letter Mail for what ever reason will not work if your shipping estimator is in "Popup" mode.

Once I switched it to "2= Display as Listing on Shopping Cart Page" inside of
Config/shipping/packaging/Shipping Estimator Display Settings for Shopping Cart

Everything works!

Thank You Royal for your help and time, it was reviewing your website that made me change my display settings.

Hello dal2009,

Congrats! Well done!:smartalec:

You are very welcome!

I have followed everything in this post and I cannot get this working. I have checked and re-checked the sellonline site, and my site and I am still not getting lettermail shipping showing up.

I had hoped that removing the popup item would work, but it didn't. I have setup a test product to use.

http://pixelmountainphoto.com/cart/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=6&products_id=14

Please help. I don't know what I am missing.

Thanks!

Shanon

Shanon, can you post images of the 3 items Royal had me post?

Thanks for coming back to this post.

I have also rechecked the settings for the module and they match what you and Royal have.

I have attached the screenshots.

Thanks for the help!

Shanon

Hello Shanon,

I notice something. Can you change Large Envelope to Lettermail_1. Reason for that is. It has the same height as your Lettermail_0.

*Lettermail_0

Lettermail_1*

Thanks Royal,

I have made that change and tried it again. Nope, still 6.54 to ship an envelope.

Thanks!

Shanon

The problem maybe this:

You have to change "Large Envelope" at Canada Post to say maybe"Lettermail_Large"

Remember it has to start with letter mail.

Going by the example you show for your product size its to large for your Lettermail package on the CP server , then it looks for the next size up which says Large Envelope, so it sends as a parcel.

Try that and let us know.

Edited: Opps, just read Royals reply, so my info seems to be the same, sorry.
