Here's a quick tutorial on how to add fields to easypopulate v1.2.5.4 or 1.2.5.5

phazei:

Have to have PHP 5 I guess. Other people also had same issue because of that.

fgetcsv should work on PHP4, but it doesn't seem to be working as well.

:frusty: seems like it will take forever for my host to upgrade PHP to 5...

thanks for the reply, guess i'll just hold on to 1.2.5.4. for now

Re: Here's a quick tutorial on how to add fields to easypopulate v1.2.5.4 or 1.2.5.5

Can anybody suggest a fix for these errors please they seem to be pointing to lines rather than files :-

Warning: fopen(/var/www/tempEP/Full-EP2009Feb04-1705.csv) [function.fopen]: failed to open stream: Permission denied in /var/www/admin/easypopulate.php on line 1134

Warning EasyPopulate support & development by langer. Donations are always appreciated to support continuing development: [email protected]
Success Installation Successfull! A full download of your store has been done and is available in your uploads (tempEP) directory. You can use this as your 1st template for uploading/updating products.
Success File Full-EP2009Feb04-1705.csv successfully exported! The file is ready for download in your /tempEP/ directory.

first half saying i've got errors but second half saying everything is ok.

Thanks

Re: Here's a quick tutorial on how to add fields to easypopulate v1.2.5.4 or 1.2.5.5

Is it possible for me to "append" the Attributes file to the "Full Version"?

Will EP read it? That would make my life Sooo much easier!

Attribute do not work correctly in either version as yet. Sorry. This has been a long time deficit of the free version.

Re: Here's a quick tutorial on how to add fields to easypopulate v1.2.5.4 or 1.2.5.5

Hi there.. i posted this in another thread, but maybe think this one is more suitable so apologies for repeating myself, but after reading this I realise that some glaring assumptions I made from previously posting.. here's what I said..

and btw using latest ZC with csv version of EP (not advanced version)

Hi all.. I have set up Zen Cart with Easy Populate and have it working but not ideally.. I'm exporting a number of fields from Filemaker that I have to combine into one to fit into v_products_description_1. Ideally I'd like to set up a v_products_description_2, v_products_description_3 and so on, so I can place fields into there own unique field so I can add individual formatting for text on each v_description.. ie Bold on one.. Bold Italics on another, to break up the monotony of long-winded descriptions.
I did see on here someone with a link to a modified easypopulate.php file, claiming to add fields, but I'm not that technically minded to fully understand.. I guess if someone can confirm it's possible to do via this method or another I can employ someone to take on the task..

Now I realise that you can't just add numbers after v_product as this pertains to different languages, but is it possible to split the description text into different a v heading so I can apply different formatting to the text for each one? I don't know whether I'd be better off trying to do this from Filemaker and group the descriptions and formatiing from there..
Thanks in advance.. any help or tips would be greatly appreciated...

Re: Here's a quick tutorial on how to add fields to easypopulate v1.2.5.4 or 1.2.5.5

WTF? This is confusing. Why were these threads merged? Mine was a specific support thread for a addon. The addon faq thing says each addon needs its own support thread. Now if anyone is looking for help with 1.2.5.5.csv they won't know where to find it. Chances are they will end up looking in the 1.2.5.4 thread, and I'm not going to bother monitoring it. How agitating. No warning or nothing. Damn you moderators!

Neil725:
You need to set the permissions on the folder to like 0777 or something. The code isn't able to write to the directory.

Show your host this: http://www.gophp5.org/
It is possible for PHP4 and 5 to run concurrently. PHP5 adds significant features that really push PHP to a much more admirable language. It's been over 3 years since PHP5 came out. Version 5.2 is very secure and stable. As a programmer, I'm only doing PHP5 now, PHP4 isn't worth it.

fgetcsv should work on PHP4, but it doesn't seem to be working as well.

I've just installed easy populate on an immutable PHP4 server and got the fgetcsv error.

On looking into it it is quite an easy fix.

Have a look at the PHP docs:
http://uk3.php.net/fgetcsv

The length parameter has been set to 0 on line 1222, which is OK for PHP5, but PHP4 needs a real number. I changed mine to 1000 and it now works fine.

was:
} else if($filelayout = array_flip(fgetcsv($handle, 0, $csv_deliminator, $csv_enclosure))) {

now:
} else if($filelayout = array_flip(fgetcsv($handle, 1000, $csv_deliminator, $csv_enclosure))) {

This just saved me hours of going into each product to get them sorted as I needed in the admin!

Re: Here's a quick tutorial on how to add fields to easypopulate v1.2.5.4 or 1.2.5.5

Greetings,

Looking for a way to add "featured" products into the datafeed via EP.

Would like to be able to have a column in the EP feed for "Featured" - using either a 1 or 0 (like product status) to show if an item is featured, and in turn, show up in the "Featured" areas of the site.

Suggestions?

Thanks!

Re: Here's a quick tutorial on how to add fields to easypopulate v1.2.5.4 or 1.2.5.5

Hi,

I'm using the latest version of Easy Populate CSV and I'm having a couple issues.

  1. It installed fine, but I'm having troubles getting the products to import successfully.

  2. This is the error I get:
Warning: array_flip() [function.array-flip]: The argument should be an array in /home/xxxxxx/public_html/xxxxxx/admin/easypopulate.php on line 1222. I haven't messed with any of these files.

Here are the csv files I'm trying to upload:

http://groundedgroup.com/data/EPTest10.csv
http://groundedgroup.com/data/EPTest9.csv

Both files contain the same data, however, I tried saving them differently to see if that would make a difference. No dice.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Did you try removing the single quotation marks?

Also, while I'm not sure about EP CSV, but in EP you need to have the last column EOREOR.

Re: Here's a quick tutorial on how to add fields to easypopulate v1.2.5.4 or 1.2.5.5

Thanks for your help.

I tried removing the single quotes, but no luck. I also tried it several other ways, such as:

http://groundedgroup.com/data/EPTest11.csv
http://groundedgroup.com/data/EPTest12.csv
http://groundedgroup.com/data/EPTest13.csv
http://groundedgroup.com/data/EPTest14.csv
http://groundedgroup.com/data/EPTest15.csv

I'm still getting the same error. Oddly, at the bottom it says the file uploaded, I'm just not seeing any categories or products added. And yeah, I think adding EOREOR to the end is limited to the former EP version.

Any other ideas?

Thanks.

At the moment, perhaps reinstall EP CSV?

Re: Here's a quick tutorial on how to add fields to easypopulate v1.2.5.4 or 1.2.5.5

Well, I tried re-installing everything, including Zen Cart, but still no dice...I get the same error. I'm following the install directions, I think to the T, so I don't know what I'm doing wrong. I've had good success getting other modules to install on other Zen Cart sites, so I think I know what I'm doing to a degree, but this one keeps denying me. Arg.

Seems like everybody else is having good luck. Hmmm.

Thanks for the suggestions though.

Peace.

Re: Here's a quick tutorial on how to add fields to easypopulate v1.2.5.4 or 1.2.5.5

JHouse or anyone else, have you been able to resolve the error you were receiving:

Warning: array_flip() [function.array-flip]: The argument should be an array in /home/XXXXXX/public_html/gsc/admin/easypopulate.php on line 1222

I am receiving the same error. Please help if you can.

I am using 1.3.8. I just installed Easy Populate CSV on a Mac.

Thanks.

Re: Here's a quick tutorial on how to add fields to easypopulate v1.2.5.4 or 1.2.5.5

i just followed the instructions and got this to work perfectly.

i am running

zencart v1.3.8a
Easy Populate Free - from langer / modhole 1.2.5.5.
MSRP Display 1.2

and added a cost and msrp field

now all we need is a add-on for cost into zencart and would be perfect
