Lightbox Gallery (combined jgallery and zenlightbox)

Mabe just one little thing about this mod...

If we have severals langages in our site, the way you link to the gallery in the more_information box uses english...
You have defined it in the languages files, so we can use it, don't we?

So in cart/includes/modules/sideboxes/more_information.php

replace

$more_information[] = '<a href="gallery.html">' . 'GALLERY' . '</a>';

by

$more_information[] = '<a href="gallery.html">' . BOX_INFORMATION_GALLERY . '</a>';

Then, I made the changes to my other languages files, and everything is OK

Thanks for all ;)

Re: Lightbox Gallery (combined jgallery and zenlightbox)

deggertsen:

Okay, here's a more in depth explanation.

Personally I always add Ultimate SEO URLs but if you don't you may need to figure out what the url to the ez-page you would like your gallery to be on. However, I've tried disabling it and it still worked fine... You may have to test it.

In order to figure out what the url for the page is you will need to finish all the steps (skip step 6) and go on step 9 of the instructions it says you will need to turn on the more information box in the layout boxes controller. Find out what the url is for this page. If it is mysite.com/gallery.html then you have nothing to worry about but if it is something other than gallery.html then you will need to go into the index.php file in the gallery folder and do a find and replace for "gallery.html" and replace with the correct url for the page (i.e. "page.html?chapter=0&id=12").

Hopefully that helps. I'm subscribed to this thread now so I'll try to be better about responding.

I'm not slow but I am a bit confused by the ez-page bit. Do I need to create an ez-page and insert some content in to it and run the gallery from there? I have followed all the instructions (no SEO URLs). I can upload an image but that's all (the filename gets all buggered up though - 9ba70b1c37284b920e29ea4d29a95d07jpg - with no dot before the jpg). I go to shop/gallery/ and just get a blank page.

Any thoughts?
Thanks!

Re: Lightbox Gallery (combined jgallery and zenlightbox)

I have installed jgallery which is working fine. I see to get it going you need to put the following into an ez-page:

<?php
$G_JGALL['inc_path'] = 'gallery_lb/';
include($G_JGALL['inc_path'] . 'index.php');
?>

Is there something similar required with define pages for lightbox gallery? This line in the instructions gives a clue... "Should be simple enough. But these lines had to be added to create another define pages page called gallery. EZ-Pages just don't work for some reason."

I have been able to create an ez-page from the source code from http://www.ellori.com/gallery.html and get it working (to some extent) and lightbox works for my product images. Buggered if I can get the lightbox gallery working properly though.

Tearing hair out here, really want it working!

Re: Lightbox Gallery (combined jgallery and zenlightbox)

slobadog,

When you're creating the ez-page you don't need to put anything in the body area but simply put in "gallery.html" in the "Internal Link URL" box (see attached image).

In order to get lightbox working on certain pages there are several files you have to change and a few places where you have to add the lighbox code. Pay attention in particular to the files in "includes/modules/pages" as you will notice the file "jscript_zen_lightbox.php" in each of the folders where lightbox is applied.

I've noticed the problem with the uploader scrambling the image names but haven't had time to fix it. If you figure out how to fix it let me know and I'll try to update the add-on. If you can't fix it then I just recommend using ftp to upload your images to the gallery folder.

Re: Lightbox Gallery (combined jgallery and zenlightbox)

Ok so I have installed t Lightbox Gallery mod. It's fantastic :smile:

I have a question thought...

Before I had lightbox gallery installed I had Jgallery installed. In jgallery you could have catergories to your gallery i.e say your selling t-shirts you could have your red t-shirt section of the gallery a blue t-shirt section gallery etc. Is this possible in lightbox gallery? If so how do I do it?

Thanks guys.

Glad you like the mod.

Unfotunately I really haven't had the time to work on further development of lightbox gallery thus it does not have the ability to do what you are asking. If you would like to write a patch for this that would be great!

I am currently working on making this mod compatible with the Ceon SEO add-on.

Thanks for your answer deggertsen.

Believe me if I had the ability to write a patch I would.. !

CEON compatiability would be fantastic as thats something I'm looking to implement within my store within the near future.

Once again thanks, and keep up the good work :bigups:

Re: Lightbox Gallery (combined jgallery and zenlightbox)

Hello again,

I have just found an issue with my transparent black lightbox overlay in internet explorer 7 & 8 (of coarse no issues in FF). Basically when you click larger image the overlay overlay covers the whole screen minus about 80px from the right hand side of the screen. This happens at all resolutions??

Anyone have any I deas about what this could be and how I can fix it?

Thanks

Just sorted this out out by adding:

#overlay {
width: 100% !important;
height: 100%;
}

to the main stylesheet and this seemed to work...

Re: Lightbox Gallery (combined jgallery and zenlightbox)

Thanks for this mod!

I've got two galleries successfully up and functioning on my site. I had problems with 'gallery.html' and 'gallery1.html' like many others and here's what I found:

When defining the page through EZ pages using an internal link and pointing it to gallery.html worked great from any page in the site except the home page. When it was clicked from the home page Ultimate SEO was adding a string of numbers after it causing a 404/not found error.

I tried adding 'gallery.html' and 'gallery1.html' under the Ultimate SEO admin panel, and still got the same error.

My fix: Go to EZ pages and rather than defining gallery1.html as an internal link, assign the page as an external link and point it back to http://yoursite.com/gallery.html (or /store/gallery.html if you're in a subdirectory).

Now it's working great for me and I'm ready to populate it! Anybody want to crop and edit 1000+ images for me? haha

Glad you got it working! You should just batch process all your images =). I love batch processing....

Re: Lightbox Gallery (combined jgallery and zenlightbox)

So, maybe I broke it?

I had four or five test images in each gallery and it worked great. Added all the images to it and now my second gallery (gallery1...) tells me 'Image Creation Failed' when I click on the link.

Before I go through the process of editing all the files for the second gallery and seeing where the problem is, do you have any input on what would cause that to make my search a little easier?

Re: Lightbox Gallery (combined jgallery and zenlightbox)

The problem seems to be when there are enough images to need a second page. I went over config.php thinking that might be the culprit, but it's not it. It's working great with 'gallery' but when I copy that config.php file and change the instances of 'gallery' in the file to 'gallery1' and keep everything the same I still end up with the same problem. The gallery fails to load when there are more than 1 page worth of images uploaded.

Re: Lightbox Gallery (combined jgallery and zenlightbox)

Hmm... it might not be a page issue. I changed config.php to have enough rows/columns that all the images would be able to be displayed on one page and it still doesn't work. Any input would be very helpful!

Thanks!

Re: Lightbox Gallery (combined jgallery and zenlightbox)

Possibly another clue? I set the rows/columns smaller thinking it might have just been too much information per page and it works again, BUT, when I go to gallery1.html gallery1 is displayed, but if I click on page 2 of that gallery I get page 2 of 'gallery' rather than 'gallery1'

Sorry for the barrage of comments, I'm just trying to figure out what's going on with this thing!

Less important: Once I get this figured out, how do I change 'gallery' and 'gallery1' where they are displayed on my page? I figured out where to change it in the nav bar (english.php if I remember?) but not where to change where the gallery is displayed in the center of the page.

Thanks again for all the help -- this is a great mod!

Re: Lightbox Gallery (combined jgallery and zenlightbox)

Make sure that in the index.php file that gallery.html (it appears several times in that file) is changed to gallery1.html. I think that would fix it... But then again there may be more than that to the problem. If you'd like me to take a look send me ftp info so I can go in and look at the files...

Re: Lightbox Gallery (combined jgallery and zenlightbox)

I changed all 'gallery.html' to 'gallery1.html' in the index.php file and that allows for a second page and the first page displays correctly no matter how many images I have on it. But when I go to page 3 (or page 2 depending on how many rows/columns I assign) I get the same error I was getting again.

Should I change all instances of 'gallery' to 'gallery1' in the index.php file? Like these:

$body_table = "<table class="gallery1_bodyTable"

$type = exif_imagetype($_SERVER['DOCUMENT_ROOT'] . GALLERY1_DIR . $file); //get the imagetype with exif-support

...etc. or should I lave those as just 'gallery'?

I tried changing all instances of gallery files (gallery_bodyTable, gallery_thumbs, etc.) to gallery1 and leaving GALLERY_DIR the same, as well as changing both, but neither seemed to change the problem.

Thanks again for the help -- if you'd like ftp information to check it out for yourself just send me a message!

Re: Lightbox Gallery (combined jgallery and zenlightbox)

I recently installed this mod and I am a bit confused. Nothing appears to be working properly. The only thing that has changed is that I have the Zen Lightbox settings under configuration in the admin section.

How do you upload your images?
Is it not working properly because I dont have the SEO mod installed? or did I install something incorrectly?
Thanks

Re: Lightbox Gallery (combined jgallery and zenlightbox)

I changed all instances of GALLERY to GALLERY1 and everything's working now... except...

I've lost all my thumbnail images in both galleries. Just a bunch of question marks. Once the images are clicked and full size they're fine.

Also, less important but something I'd still like to figure out: the 'X' to close the lightbox window also died. Where is that located for me to replace/repair it?

Third: Once all this is working, do I need to use the uploader in the admin section every time I want to upload a photo, or can I just FTP them into the gallery/gallery1 folders?

Re: Lightbox Gallery (combined jgallery and zenlightbox)

FTP Actually works better if you can upload your images that way. The uploader is clunky and needs work...

As for your problems... My first thought is that it has something to do with your config.php file or not changing the gallery.html in the index.php file... But I really don't know without going through your files and debugging...
