Lightbox Gallery (combined jgallery and zenlightbox)

Sorry to bump out this old thread but I've been trying this addon and I have a wierd problem. The image uploader doesn't seem to generate the images correctly onto the server. Instead of .jpg at the end of the file it only gets "jpg" no dot, so the file isn't recognized as an image and therefore doesn't appear in the gallery. Any clue on how to sort this out? Could this addon require at least PHP5? I've got PHP4 installed atm.

Re: Lightbox Gallery (combined jgallery and zenlightbox)

Hi Zenners,

I know somewhere deep down this is a fantastic mod but....

  1. Will simple SEO URLs work?

  2. I've created an EZ-Page and pointed it to gallery.html and changed the index.php by replacing all instances of gallery.html with my ez-page URL. Ummmmm, where does that leave me? It gives me an EZ-Page that points to a gallery.html that's not found.

  3. what does an EZ-Page have to do with the define page?

  4. I changed the directories from /gallery/ to /site/gallery/ in the config file.

:blink:

Still not found. I'm desperate. Please help. I will be eternally greatful.

Thanks,

MC

Re: Lightbox Gallery (combined jgallery and zenlightbox)

I'm sorry, I don't have time to figure out all of the individual problems without access to your site. It's much faster for me to just ftp into your site files than it is for me to guess what the problem may be from what you wrote...

I'd be happy to look into any problems if you simply PM me your ftp info...

Sorry I can't help otherwise, it just takes too much of my time...

Re: Lightbox Gallery (combined jgallery and zenlightbox)

I've got Lightbox Gallery installed with 1.38a+security+CEON URI Mapping+CJ Loader. I believe that I've got all the configuration set up properly as the default gallery shows, but the PREV, NEXT, CLOSE, and LOADING buttons aren't showing up. Previous posts lead me to believe that it's got something to do with the URI mapping and gallery.html.

Anybody got any clues?

Sounds like the buttons images are in the wrong path or missing. Put a link to your site and I'll check it for ya. ;)

Thanks. My site's currently down for maintenance since it's in very early development and I don't want to be indexed. PM me your IP address and I'll add it to my admin list.

Re: Lightbox Gallery (combined jgallery and zenlightbox)

Well, thanks to Asdesign for pointing me in the right direction(s)! :clap:

If anyone desires to use this mod in conjunction with Ceon URI Mapping, here's what changes need to be made since the URI mapping requires all absolute path references to items loaded by .js and .css files:

  1. /includes/templates/CUSTOM/css/stylesheet_lightbox.css

Change all 5 occurrences of ../images/zen_lightbox to /includes/templates/CUSTOM/images/zen_lightbox (where **CUSTOM **is your template name). If you're not running out of the root, prepend that path name (e.g. /store/includes/...).

  1. /includes/templates/CUSTOM/jscript/lightbox.js

Change lines 78 & 79 to include the full path (as above) to the two .gif files.

  1. /includes/modules/pages/xxx/jscript_lightbox.php

This script is included in each page where a lightbox could be displayed (check the documentation for this mod).

Lines 20 and 21 are originally

var fileLoadingImage = "<?php echo $template->get_template_dir('.gif', DIR_WS_TEMPLATE, $current_page_base,'images'). '/zen_lightbox/' . 'loading.gif'; ?>";
var fileBottomNavCloseImage = "<?php echo $template->get_template_dir('.gif', DIR_WS_TEMPLATE, $current_page_base,'images'). '/zen_lightbox/' . 'closelabel.gif'; ?>";

make the following changes

var fileLoadingImage = "<?php echo '/' . $template->get_template_dir('.gif', DIR_WS_TEMPLATE, $current_page_base,'images'). '/zen_lightbox/' . 'loading.gif'; ?>";
var fileBottomNavCloseImage = "<?php echo '/' . $template->get_template_dir('.gif', DIR_WS_TEMPLATE, $current_page_base,'images'). '/zen_lightbox/' . 'closelabel.gif'; ?>";

Happy galleries to all.

Re: Lightbox Gallery (combined jgallery and zenlightbox)

Only thing I noticed about this gallery is that you have to prepare your images before uploading, by making them unified, meaning all at the same size. Otherwise, you get ugly looking thumbnails. I reckon there might be better gallery solutions out there. :)

You actually can change the thumbnail size using the config.php file to make them all the same size. Granted it will skew the image but it's an option...

I totally recoded the html and css for it but having the thumbnails in different heights is kinda annoying. I like it sorted out all in the same size. I guess some sort of cropping script should be implemented to make this gallery a lot better.

The config.php file has parameters that you can set for height and width. If you set those two values then it will resize all the images in the gallery to that height and width, thus making them all the same size. In other words, there already is a script that resizes the images for you.

Re: Lightbox Gallery (combined jgallery and zenlightbox)

I am having the same problem as others - I have installed this mod but it just keeps giving 404 errors. I use the CEON SEO mod so I don't want to install Ultimate SEO. I did make the changes listed in a previous post for the CEON mod, but still no luck. I know I must need to change the gallery.html in the gallery/index.php file, but I don't know what to change it to! Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Re: Lightbox Gallery (combined jgallery and zenlightbox)

I have it working on this page with CEON URLs but I haven't had time to see if I can fix the pagination (as you can see page 2 is broken). I changed gallery.html to index.php?main_page=gallery and put that as the internal link url in my ez-page. If I remember right that's all I had to do... In fact I don't even think it's necessary to change gallery.html in the index.php file because those links are all for the pagination and since the pagination isn't working anyway there would be no need to change it.

http://mybarnwoodframes.com/index.php?main_page=gallery

If anybody else has time to figure this out and fix it please PM me with the solution and I'll be happy to make an update to the add on. Sadly I don't have the time and resources to work on this right now.

Re: Lightbox Gallery (combined jgallery and zenlightbox)

Yeah I must have something installed wrong, but I can't figure out what. I am uploading the files via FTP and retaining the same file structure. I have checked that I renamed the relevant folders to my override template name. But the only indication I have that anything is installed is that I can see the Zen Lightbox settings in my Configuration menu. However, the lightbox does not work anywhere in my store. There is nowhere in my admin to upload images, and when I go to https://www.ideawebservices.com/index.php?main_page=gallery, it gives a 404 error.

Also, no link shows up in my More Information box, and the link is definitely set up in the sidebox template.

Re: Lightbox Gallery (combined jgallery and zenlightbox)

Good news! I finally broke down and spent a few hours updating this add on a bit. I just uploaded a new version of this add on. Here are the changes:

  1. Updated the image uploader to the uploader currently used in JGallery. Allows you to delete, edit, rename, and more.
  2. Fixed some minor bugs.
  3. Fixed it so that no changes are needed out of the box for the first page of the gallery to work without Ultimate SEO URLs.
  4. Began to make changes necessary to allow pagination to work without Ultimate SEO URLs (obviously not finished).
  5. Updated to the most recent zen lightbox version 1.5.

Let me know if you run into any bugs/problems. Be aware that you will probably need to uninstall the old version of zen lightbox before installing this new version.

Re: Lightbox Gallery (combined jgallery and zenlightbox)

That's great, I can't wait to try it! I have a question - Does this mod allow you to have multiple albums within the gallery? So for example, you would click the gallery link, and then on the gallery page, it would have Album A, Album B, and Album C. Then if you clicked on an Album name, you would see all the photos in that album. Can it do that, or is it limited to just one album?

Thanks!

Re: Lightbox Gallery (combined jgallery and zenlightbox)

@Danielle At this point there is no way to do multiple albums. You can do separate galleries on different pages by following the instructions included in the package but no way to do multiple albums.

@starchang98 Did you try running using the upload link to run the sql patch? For some reason when I copied and pasted it in it didn't work for me either. Another option is to run the sql query manually. That's easy to do if you have phpmyadmin or something similar but otherwise you may have to know how to run it in command line.

As far as the multiple zen lightbox headings in the admin configuration... I'm not sure what to tell you. You may want to go to the Zen Lightbox forum topic to see if there is a solution there. Post the solution here if you find it just in case others have the same problem.
