Lightbox Gallery (combined jgallery and zenlightbox)

Right, I got things working ... was my stupid fault for not double checking what I was doing - I need sleep, I've been awake for more then 72 hours working this site ... too much fun to worry about sleeping!

The problem for me was self-caused and was due to how I originally modified the files for my test site, and then lack of proper attention when updating my live site ....

Simply put, I forgot to change the root folder in the config.php file and that in turn was causing the page not to load correctly.

Now that is out of the way, I'm facing the same issue as Holljac ... I reckon I've got one more night in me before I need to sleep ... so hopefully we'll see what I can find ;p

No, what I mean is...Is there a file or anything related to the installation of this addon that has left that site vulnerable to attack, or is it utterly unrelated?

I seriously doubt that. I've looked through the PHP and whilst not being an expert, I certainly didnt find anything to suspect that.

Has anyone got the previous/next buttons to show up yet? I'm thinking the gallery code itself is maybe the issue? Because if lightbox only "sees" one image per product, the previous/next buttons don't get displayed. So maybe the gallery considers each image to be individual, rather then part of a group, does that make sense? If multiple images in a gallery were somehow listed as the additional images, then maybe the previous/next buttons would show up?

Re: Lightbox Gallery (combined jgallery and zenlightbox)

How do you add text to the gallery page? I want to add a little blurb above the page numbers. I tried adding text to the define_gallery.php page but it doesn't show up on the site...

Re: Lightbox Gallery (combined jgallery and zenlightbox)

Personally, I gave up and went the route of defining my pictures as a category and then each group is defined as a subcategory and then the first picture of the group is entered as a document general that can't be added to the cart. Then I used IH2 to add more pics to that group. It works OK. Kind of a round about way, but usable. Go to avianbows.com to see what I mean.

It seems like the author has lost interest in the project which is very unfortunate.

the previous/next buttons not appearing is probably because of wrong path defined. To easily fix it do this:

  1. Download Firefox (even if you don't like this browser)
  2. Install an addon called "Firebug"
  3. Go to your site, open up a picture and once it's opened in lightbox, right click on either the previous or next button and click "Inspect Element" You will then see where it's searching for the image file of that button. Then go to your ftp and upload the button images to where it looks for them.
  4. Refresh your site and try again, buttons should appear perfectly now.

I can't click on the previous or next button because they are not there at all. It's not like just the image is missing, the whole link is just not there period.

Also, the previous/next buttons have the same path specified as the close button, and they are in the same location, and the close button works perfectly.

My issue is the same as Danielle's. No image, no link. Image files are where they are suppose to be.

Since I could never get it to work on my local server, I never modified the live site.

deggertsen:

Okay, here's a more in depth explanation.

Personally I always add Ultimate SEO URLs but if you don't you may need to figure out what the url to the ez-page you would like your gallery to be on. However, I've tried disabling it and it still worked fine... You may have to test it.

In order to figure out what the url for the page is you will need to finish all the steps (skip step 6) and go on step 9 of the instructions it says you will need to turn on the more information box in the layout boxes controller. Find out what the url is for this page. If it is mysite.com/gallery.html then you have nothing to worry about but if it is something other than gallery.html then you will need to go into the index.php file in the gallery folder and do a find and replace for "gallery.html" and replace with the correct url for the page (i.e. "page.html?chapter=0&id=12").

Hopefully that helps. I'm subscribed to this thread now so I'll try to be better about responding.

so i got u to install this mod for me once but my site got hacked and im gonna try to do it again myself :lookaroun just wondering how do you find the url of the ez page? i know stupid question right but just wanna make sure i do this right...cant afford to pay u again

Checked the images, they are where they should so this isn't a path issue.

Go into Zencart admin and under Lightbox check if you have gallery mode enabled. It might be the problem because as far as I can see the lightbox code seems good.
