thanks deggersten, i finally got it to run, i found a code that worked! its was posted here by a 'dark angel', (THANKYOU!) http://www.zen-cart.com/forum/showthread.php?t=45314&page=173 i think she changed some of the prefixes to zen_ but she must have done something else cuz i tried that already, i didnt really analyze it but it worked so yay!!

so i can acess the image uploader and upload photos but they arent showing in my gallery (dangit!). I think i remember reading somewhere about this so i'll go hunting for the answers...in the meantime i'll happily take any advice! cheers!

Re: Lightbox Gallery (combined jgallery and zenlightbox)

deggertsen:

I've had this problem come up for a few people so let me just put the solution again here:

Check the gallery/config.php file to make sure the gallery path is correct. By default it is set to "/gallery/" currently when it may need to be changed to something like "/store/gallery/".

If that needed to be changed make sure you also check the file includes/templates/YOUR-TEMPLATE-FOLDER/templates/tpl_gallery_default.php to make sure it matches the gallery path:

For example change "require DIR_FS_CATALOG . 'gallery/index.php';"
to "require DIR_FS_CATALOG . 'store/gallery/index.php';"

Hopefully that helps some people. :D

okay so i found your advice here on page 2 of this thread...so when you say "store" i put the name of my cart right? i tried it and still doesnt work :frusty:

Re: Lightbox Gallery (combined jgallery and zenlightbox)

Hi Everyone!
I have gone through the thread and didn't find an answer to this problem that seemed appropriate. Maybe you guys can help me out.

I an using the 1.3.9 release of Zen and php 5 I have a template monster template (ugh, I know) and 2 additional language packs installed. I am NOT using any SEO URL mods.

My prev and next buttons are not showing on the gallery images. The close button and the captions are. I am a novice at css and zen so I would appreciate any help you could offer in correcting this. I should add that everything else in the mod ( the lightbox, the up-loader, everything) is working like a charm. Thanks!

Re: Lightbox Gallery (combined jgallery and zenlightbox)

G'day people

Usually dont post much as I rarely actually 'know' what I do to fix problems I encounter, more so just stumble around for hours until I understand things enough to fix what I stuff up .. I find these forums absolutely fantastic!

But this time, I'm stuffed ... Ive spent atleast 20 hours trying to figure this out and no matter what I try it all comes back to the same result:

Note: I DO NOT use any SEO/URL mods, this has been tested with multiple mods, clean installs, etc

For this example I used:

Installation Steps:

Completely clean install of all mods ...

1- Create the database
2- Install ZC with demo data
3- Install theme
4- Adjust few admin things (layout box controller > categories sidebox etc)
5- install Lightbox Gallery (PRECISELY! as instructed, I have done it atleast 15 times, all on clean ZC installs)
6- Create EZ-Page called Gallery (as instructed in the installation files) and added an internal link to 'index.php?main_page=gallery' (minus the ') as instructed
7- Enable more_information sidebox using Layout Boxes Controller, Gallery options appears at the bottom by default of that box

Notes: at this stage all seems to be okay, in my Admin>Configuration menu is the Zen Lightbox option and its variables etc. however, under the Admin>Tools>Gallery Image Uploader I do not see anything except for the control options (Home | Upload | Create etc etc), none of the sample images show.

The Problems

Note that Admin>Configuration>Zen Lightbox options work fine, 100% - the issues are with Gallery Image Uploader and displaying the actual Gallery pages.

Lets start with the Admin features:

Admin>Tools>Gallery Image Uploader>

A- click on Upload and browse to an image, click on Upload button - PROBLEM 1 - system returns File Array failed to upload. Looking in the gallery folder I can see nothing has been uploaded. This happens regardless of the file size, image size, accepted file extentions.

B- click on Create, enter Filename: ex. familyPics, select Directory radio button (or try creating a File, either or, same result) and click on the Create button. The system returns this message "The directory, ../test/gallery//familyPics could not be created. Check to make sure the permisions on the /files directory is set to 777"

 - notice the double // between gallery and familyPics - I tried looking for this everywhere but to no avail
 - also the comment stating "... permission the /files directory is set to 777", by this I assume we meant the /gallery folder; as I can find no folders/directories in this mod called /file
 - of course I have adjusted the permissions (but then again, I am me ... no doubt the answer to this PEBKAC! :dontgetit)

Okay so enough with the Admin issues ... back to the more_information sidebox link and the Ez-Pages Gallery header display problems.

1 - more_information sidebox: clicking the Gallery link (which by default is opening index.php?main_page=define_gallery) displays Zen Carts customisable 404 page with the Site Map beneath that
2 - Ez-Page for Gallery (internally linking to index.php?main_page=gallery), displays a blank page headed by Gallery. No images appear on this page.

...
So there we have it (i think, I hope) the first REAL issue I haven't been able to figure out myself (or given up trying on!). Anyone seen similar issues with this new update? I've just thought of one terrible reality - it could be the Template Monster theme, I should try this using a free theme ....

Cheers

Re: Lightbox Gallery (combined jgallery and zenlightbox)

I have just noticed that during all the installations and following the INSTRUCTIONS file ... when getting to this point:

  1. Edit the cart/admin/config.php file. Change the "$upload_dir" path as instructed in the file.

That file does not include "&upload_dir"?, but contains:

<?php

/****************************************************************/
/* Config Section                                               */
/*                                                              */
/* $sitetitle - The title at the top of all pages. */
/* $filefolder - The main folder to be browsing. */
/* $user - The username required to login.                      */
/* $pass - The password required to login.                      */
/* $tbcolor1 - Color1 of TD on home.                            */
/* $tbcolor2 - Color2 of TD on home.                            */
/* $tbcolor3 - Top of home list.                                */
/* $bgcolor1 - Main color of page.                              */
/* $bgcolor2 - Color of page border.                            */
/* $bgcolor3 - Color of textarea abd button borders. */
/* $txtcolor1 - Color of Normal text and hovered links. */
/* $txtcolor2 - Color of links.                                 */
/****************************************************************/
$tbcolor1c = "#bacaee";
$tbcolor2c = "#daeaff";
$tbcolor3c = "#7080dd";
$bgcolor1c = "#ffffff";
$bgcolor2c = "#a6a6a6";
$bgcolor3c = "#003399";
$txtcolor1c = "#000000";
$txtcolor2c = "#003399";
$filefolder = "../gallery/";
$sitetitle = 'Lightbox Gallery Image Uploader';
$user = '';
$pass = '';

?>

So I changed:

$filefolder = "../gallery/";

to

$filefolder = "../test/gallery/";

And added the login details for the admin account to $user and &pass ....

Re: Lightbox Gallery (combined jgallery and zenlightbox)

Right, last post for tonight ... tried this on a fresh install of Zen Cart using the classic them .. exactly the same result as above.

:hug: Atleast I can partly rule out the theme I paid for being the problem, I'm still pretty sure the PEBKAC!

Re: Lightbox Gallery (combined jgallery and zenlightbox)

Try switching the template back to Classic in the admin. If the mod works with the Classic template, then it is the Template Monster template causing the issues. If the mod still doesn't work, then something else is the problem.

I tried that, I even tried a vanilla ZC install using Classic template with no other edits .... stumped! :lookaround:

The easiest way to get this mod working is to install Ultimate SEO URLs :) I had no luck with it until I did that.

is that installed as part of a default vanilla installation, or is a module that is installed? if its module, I never installed it ...

No, you have to install it separately. I believe it mentions it briefly somewhere in the Lightbox Gallery readme, but it's a separate mod. You can download it here:

http://www.zen-cart.com/index.php?main_page=product_contrib_info&products_id=231

I also found that I had to make another edit, because the sidebox link was still not working. See if it works after you install Ultimate SEO URLs, and if the sidebox link still doesn't work, edit your includes/filenames.php as follows:

Replace:

define('FILENAME_DEFINE_GALLERY', 'define_gallery');

With:

define('FILENAME_DEFINE_GALLERY', 'gallery');

If I can figure that out, I'll give your edit above a shot ... not holding out for the SEO stuff though, reading through threads (hundreds of pages long!) now - lots of 'discussion' on that mod.

Hmmm, I'm not sure what to tell you, I had no issues with the Ultimate SEO URL's mod. Did you remember to rename the sample htaccess file from htaccess_sample to .htaccess?

Re: Lightbox Gallery (combined jgallery and zenlightbox)

I'm using 1.3.9d with php 5.3.1. Ultimate SEO is installed and working fine. I have installed Lightbox Gallery and everything works fine except, I can not for life of me get the previous and next button to show up.

I am trying to use this mod as purely a picture gallery, not to show products. When I click on a product, lightbox functions correctly and the prev/next buttons show up fine. When I click on a gallery image, the lightbox effect works great, but no prev/next images. I am totally stumped and hope someone can help me with it.

I am doing this addon on my server and not on the live site. Once I get it working correctly I will upload it then.
