Adding reCAPTCHA to Contact Us Form

In any mod, the folder "admin" is assumed to be your admin directory of your install. You should have renamed this folder for security reasons per the wiki. So you would upload to what you've renamed your admin folder.

Where do I add that? Login to admin section then append "&remove_recaptcha=yes"

Like this? http://www.yourdomain.com/store/admi..._recaptcha=yes

(admin would be replaced by your renamed admin folder)

You are correct. However, you would need a ? as well. Try:
http://www.yoursite.com/store/admin/index.php?remove_recaptcha=yes

Re: Adding reCAPTCHA to Contact Us Form

I also noted two more bugs:

  1. The breadcrumbs for the Contact Us page will be displayed as such: Home > Contact Us > Contact Us

  2. If you set any values in the in the admin>Configuation>email options>Set "Contact Us" Email Dropdown List each item will be duplicated. Meaning... each choice in the dropdown will be displayed twice.
    Example:
    Customer Service
    Customer Service
    Sales
    Sales

*Unless this happening because I was unable to remove the previous half install.

Re: Adding reCAPTCHA to Contact Us Form

JRayfield:

I went ahead and put the 'tpl_contact_us_default.php' file in the '/includes/templates/CUSTOM/templates' directory and everything seems to work correctly.

This also fixed my issue of the reCaptcha not showing up on the Contact Us page.

Place: tpl_contact_us_default.php here:
includes\templates\YOURTHEMENAME\templates\

Re: Adding reCAPTCHA to Contact Us Form

Now that is is showing up correctly it doesn't work correctly.

I can fill in the Contact Us info:

Name, email, message and hit SEND without doing the reCaptcha and the message is sent without any issues.

Hmmm... going to look into it later.

Re: Adding reCAPTCHA to Contact Us Form

I have not noticed this on the three installs I have used this on. The configuration key for the contact us page, shouldn't have touched by this mod.

Run this query in:

SELECT *
FROM `zen_configuration`
WHERE `configuration_key` LIKE 'CONTACT_US_LIST';

If you see multiple rows, that's your issue. The template files are direct copies from the template_default folder with the addition of one block of code at the bottom of the file where the captcha is displayed. This shouldn't have changed the breadcrumbs.

Make sure you have uploaded /store/includes/modules/pages/contact_us/header_php.php to your install. This file handles the logic of the form being valid before being submitted.

Only one result is present. *I did have to remove zen_ from zen_configuration.

Should I find and replace all references to zen_ within your contribution? (Could this be what's screwing with my install)

Re: Adding reCAPTCHA to Contact Us Form

My custom template folder is named '241'.

So, I tried putting this file (tpl_contact_us_default.php) in this folder:

/includes/templates/241/

That did NOT work. The captcha image did not show up on my contact page.

So, I placed this file (tpl_contact_us_default.php) in this folder:

/includes/templates/241/templates/

Everything works fine now.

Placing this file in the 'CUSTOM' folder, under /includes/templates/, does not work. It must be in the '/templates/' folder, under the 'CUSTOM' folder.

pickupman:

The /includes/templates/CUSTOM/ would be your custom theme folder. If you are running the default classic theme, that would be /includes/templates/classic

Re: Adding reCAPTCHA to Contact Us Form

My installation isn't showing up with either of these problems. So I would guess that this is being caused by your previous installation. I completely removed my first installation of this add-on, before I tried the new installation with the updated files.

Re: Adding reCAPTCHA to Contact Us Form

So there is one known bug:
This file: tpl_contact_us_default.php needs to go here:

/includes/templates/CUSTOM/templates/

*Custom being the name of your current theme

As for my install I still can't get it to work.
I removed the entire addon then reinstalled from scratch and now I am getting a blank page.

Blank "Contact Us" page: (as of 6:27AM PST)
http://www.justmymusic.com/store/index.php?main_page=contact_us

Re: Adding reCAPTCHA to Contact Us Form

Is there a uninstall function?

Every time I use (&remove_recaptcha=yes) to my URL it creates a new link/ID under Configuration and resets the private and public key to NULL values.

Example:
../configuration.php?gID=39
../configuration.php?gID=40
../configuration.php?gID=41
../configuration.php?gID=42

Is there a way to remove (uninstall) the configuration all together? Then start from scratch? I don't mind deleting all the new files one by one. But I would like to remove the .sql info as well.

Any help would be welcome.

Re: Adding reCAPTCHA to Contact Us Form

Update:

I removed all files but still couldn't get rid of the last configuration file: ../configuration.php?gID=42

After removing all the files my "Contact Us" page is back to zen-cart default and only one listing of emails is visible from the drop down selection.

Re: Adding reCAPTCHA to Contact Us Form

I uploaded the files, they are showing up in the proper places, the reCAPTCHA option is available under configuration, I entered the public and private keys, and I've checked to make sure that Enable Contact Form is set to true - but the captcha doesn't show up on the Contact Us page? What am I missing?

The site I'm working on is buymorreale.com.

Thanks,
Bill

Hi Bill,

In the original contribution, the file structure is incorrect. The file includes/templates/CUSTOM/tpl_contact_us_default.php should actually be in the includes/templates/CUSTOM/templates directory. Try moving it there and it should work for you.

Re: Adding reCAPTCHA to Contact Us Form

Perfect, glad I could help!

I have uploaded a new version of this mod to the downloads section. It fixes the error with the file structure as well as the issue with the SQL not installing automatically. It will be available once approved.

Re: Adding reCAPTCHA to Contact Us Form

Love this Mod. Running Zen-Cart v1.3.8a with no mod to the Contact Us form. Followed instructions exactly. Works great, with one problem:

In IE8, box is LEFT-justified under "Security Check:".

In Firefox 3.6, box is RIGHT-justified on same line as "Security Check:"

You can see this if you go to my site (using Firefox) at:
http://flairbyjdn.com/catalog/index....age=contact_us

Anyone else have this same problem? If you're only using IE, I would check your site with Firefox just to be sure you aren't experiencing the same problem I am.

Any ideas?

Re: Adding reCAPTCHA to Contact Us Form

It is the css rule float:left;

label.inputLabel {
float:left;
margin:0.3em;
width:90%;
}

You could use (not supported by IE < 6):

label[for=recaptcha] {float:none;}

Removing the float:left fixes the problem.

Thank Firebug. I can't tell how many times it has saved me.
