Thanks for the input Jay. I've got it up at bitbucket.org if anyone would like to contribute. I am now just adding the various pages (not for public consumption yet).

hey pickupman thankyou for your hard work, I am sure people will be grateful, I am so thanks!
Let us know when you have done it, put a sticky up and take the credit for your work :D

I need a few testers. I've got the code posted up at bitbucket.org page. You can download it by clicking on the "get source"->zip button located on the upper right portion of the page. You can post your issues as well under the issues tab for bug tracking.

hey pickupman,
thanks for this.... will try this out tomorrow.
Is the Recaptcha just for the create account page or for other pages?
thanks Jay

There options to enable on advanced search, contact us, create account, login, tell a friend, and product write review. So you can have the recaptcha on any of those that you want.
New Zenner
ok can I just try it out on the create account option, how to know what files to use for that?
thanks Jay

You would need files in admin folder, recaptcha lib plus
/includes/modules/create_account.php
/includes/modules/pages/create_account/header.php
/includes/templates/CUSTOM/templates/tpl.create_account_default.php
New Zenner
Oh, each of the files have clearly marked blocks of code for merging into your store files, sepcifically the template files.
New Zenner
hey pickupman the file;
You would need files in admin folder, recaptcha lib plus
this file is not in the admin it is in;
includes > classes > recaptchalib
?

Correct, you need the files in the admin folder**,** recaptcha lib (includes/classes/recaptchalib.php), and the ones as mentioned based on page name you are adding it to.

just done this mate and does not even show up, I had a basic captcha on the create account page but disabled this.
Maybe adding these file in a single way and not keeping them as is has an impact on installing them.
do I need to do another sql? no options in admin for create account?
... also do you have to change CUSTOM to your template name?
New Zenner

Yes, the files in /includes/templates/CUSTOM/ would go into your theme folder. If you already have these files in there, you WinMerge to copy the block of code into your template.
For create account, you would also need to have /includes/modules/create_account.php.
If you have previously installed a version of this mod, or just to be safe, login into your admin page. Then you can add ?remove_recaptcha=yes to the end of your url (http://www.yoursite.com/admin/index.php?remove_recaptcha=yes). This mod will automatically install itself. It will be under Configuration->reCAPTCHA.
New Zenner
tried to do the url and nothing.
oh what do I do now then? I already had contact us recaptcha.
I did not do winmerge as dont know how to, when I uploaded these files it overwrote some others.
What do I do now?
New Zenner
Have you renamed your admin folder to something more secure? If so, you need to make sure these files in the mod's admin folder are uploaded to your renamed admin folder.
New Zenner
ok so what is the best thing for me to do now?
I have recaptcha for the contact us page which was alreasy installed.
so shall I just install all the other recaptchas but did not want all of them, really think they should be split up as I am sure some people will not want them all, just my tuppence worth.
New Zenner
ok pickupman.... all gone quiet now fella?
New Zenner
... not too happy as I got all these errors on my contact us page now!!
I would suggest no one else trying this as it is not the complete thing

Going to have to try and restore my online shop now
New Zenner
Pickupman,
are you going to reply to queries on here fella, if not people are going to boycot your efforts.
Something is not right with your setup of the additional recaptcha pages or you need to give better instructions.
A response would be much appreciated, thanks

I got the same results so I uninstalled the Add on but I still have the reCaptcha in the Admin -> Configuration -> reCaptcha location. Does anyone know how to get rid of the Admin entry?
