Free Shipping

I've been looking around at various FAQs trying to get this working but to no avail.

I'm using ZenCart Version 1.3.8p3.

Basically I'm using ZenCart as an online-ordering system for this restaurant.

They deliver and of course have pick-up.

Basically they want this.

Orders Under $10 can ONLY be Pick-Up
Orders Above $10 can be Pick-Up or Delivery (Free)

At first I was just using a minimum order total of $10, but the client later said they still wanted to be able to have pick-up as an option for orders under $10.

So I've been trying to get it to only show the Delivery option if the order is above $10.

Except the way I tried it (Modules->Order Total->Shipping - Enabled as 'Always Free Shipping') then doesn't give me the option for "Pick-Up" on orders above $10.

And the (Modules->Shipping->Free Shipping Options) Doesn't show up as an option at all.

Any help would be appreciated.

Re: Free Shipping

Turn on the Shipping Modules for:

Store Pickup storepickup

Free Shipping Options freeoptions
Configure for Total >= 10.00 and leave all other settings BLANK not 0.00 but BLANK as in nothing in the input boxes ...

Now, the Store Pickup storepickup will always show and the Free Shipping Options freeoptions will only show when there is an order of $10.00 or more ...

Viola! You are done! :cool:

NOTE: make sure that you turn off the Free Shipping on the Modules ... Order Totals ... Shipping ot_shipping ... if you have that turned on ...

Re: Free Shipping

Hm...When I go to checkout (With an order total above $10) I still only see the "Store Pickup" shipping option.

Here's how it's currently set.

[Store Pickup (storepickup)]
Installed and enabled.

[Free Shipping Options (freeoptions)]
Installed and enabled.
Total >= is set to 10, everything else is either blank or 0 or default setting.

All other Shipping Modules are not installed.

As for Order Total Modules

The [Shipping (ot_shipping)] module is not installed.

As for the product settings - under "Always Free Shipping" they are all set to "No, Normal shipping rules".

Ah! The problem was in Configuration->Shipping & Packaging -> Order Free Shipping 0 Weight Status - I set that to no and it works now.

Thanks!

Re: Free Shipping

Knew I should of reminded you about that one too ... :cool:

Thanks for the update on the solution that worked for you ... :smile:

NOTE: make sure that you only have the two shipping modules installed ... I say that as if you saw the FREE SHIPPING! freeshipper when you had it set to 0 weight means free shipping then you probably have that one installed too, and you do not need it unless you are using 0 weight for Free Shipping or have Products marked as Always Free Shipping ...

Yeah while trying to get it work earlier I had freeshipper enabled and freeoptions since I was so frustrated, but now it's disabled and only freeoptions and storepickup are enabled.

Thanks again :smile:

Re: Free Shipping

NOTE: disabled and REMOVED is two different things ... so be sure once things are running happily that on all Modules for Shipping, Payment and Order Total that you only have INSTALLED the ones you actually use and that you click on the ones you are not using and make sure that you have REMOVED them ...

NOTE: also on Sort Orders on Modules make sure that they are all unique values or all set to 0 ... this holds true for everything except the Order Total modules where those must have proper Sort Orders to calculate correctly ...

Re: Free Shipping

I cannot figure this out.
Here is what I have

  1. I always have store pick up on
  2. I have shipping tables (I have light products and heavy products and each is calculated for different zones in Canada and the US

What I would like to do is allow the "lighter" products to have free shipping when over $75.00. The heavy products must not change.

They are in different categories if that helps.

I've tried doing this with the free shipping options and I used the
Total>= $75.00 (but that makes it for all my products)

Any ideas?
Can you use two of the functions at the same time in the free shipping options?

Re: Free Shipping

Would it work if you could setup for Total >= 75.00 and weight <= XX or do you need to make sure specific Products are not part of the weight that makes up the XX ...

On the Products that are heavy, is there something in the products table that distinguishes them from the light weight Products such as the master_categories_id ...

If not, you would need to customize the products table to make the Heavy Products so you can check if they are in the Order ...

If there is 1 heavy weight Product in the cart, what should happen?

If there are 3 Light weight Products in the cart and the order is >= 75 what should happen?

If there are 27 Light weight Products in the cart and the order is >= 75 what should happen?

If there is 1 heavy weight Product and 5 Light Weight Products in the cart and the amount is >= 75.00 what should happen?

Re: Free Shipping

Thanks so much for your reply!
I did try exactly as you say Total >= 75.00 and weight <= 2.
Actually it comes up at the checkout when I do that but it shows three shipping options 1) pickup, 2) my zonetable which shows at $10.00 (which is the same price to everywhere for my lighter product)((this is the section I want to change to be free when over 75.00)) and then 3) free shipping (which is what shows up because I have the free options on.
What I'm trying to say is that the free shipping shows even when
they haven't reached $75.00 for that weight. So no one in their right mind is going to pay shipping when they can use free shipping.:)

I have 3 categories that need to be shipped by weight. The rest I could use the over => and it would work fine I believe.

So maybe I should just do something with the 3 (heavy) categories ONLY perhaps? ? They are wooden signs, so I need to have them in a zonetable because of weight, and if they buy two, the shipping is less and 3 is less again and the shipping costs differ from each zone that I have. Then I could use "order total"
with the rest.

I'm not sure what you mean be product table do you mean zonetable? On the Products that are heavy, is there something in the products table that distinguishes them from the light weight Products such as the master_categories_id ...

Hopefully I'm explaining this well.
Any ideas would be wonderful.

Re: Free Shipping

To get two conditions to work together, you need to customize the Free Shipping Options freeoptions shipping module ...

Find this code:

// final check for display of Free Options
      if ($this->ck_freeoptions_total or $this->ck_freeoptions_weight or $this->ck_freeoptions_items) {

and change the ORs to ANDs:

[CODE]
// final check for display of Free Options
      if ($this->ck_freeoptions_total and $this->ck_freeoptions_weight and $this->ck_freeoptions_items) {
```\[/CODE]
The products table is part of your database ... what I am looking for is a way to identify the Heavy Products such as their master_categories_id ... and whether it is unique to these Heavy Products to identify when they are in the cart ...
Or, are there only 3 Products to be concerned with?
Re: Free Shipping
Thank you Ajeh.
I'm assuming the the master_categories_id is the number beside the category. In my case they would be category id # 13, 48, 24...
They are the same "kind" of product but under three categories all using the same zonetable configured by weight and zones.
The rest of my lighter product (which I want to be able to send free with over $75.00) I have under the zonetable as well, but managed to figure out (by weight) so it sends them out with a $10.00 charge only, no matter how many they've ordered.
Re: Free Shipping
From what you are describing ... the categories do not ALL happen to be these Heavy Products ... or, are ALL the Products in these 3 categories Heavy Products?
If ALL Products in these 3 categories are NOT Heavy Products ... are there specific products_id for these Heavy Products that would be a better way to specifically identify the Heavy Products?
You still have not defined what to do under the conditions I asked about on combining the Products in the same order to determine what to do about the shipping ...
Does the Zonetable shipping module work when you have either ONLY Heavy Products or a Combination of Heavy and regular Products?
If so, would disabling the Free shipping work if you knew 1 or more Heavy Products were in the cart?
Re: Free Shipping
quote: the categories do not ALL happen to be these Heavy Products ... or, are ALL the Products in these 3 categories Heavy Products
It's yes to both of the above (I think). ALL of my categories are not heavy (as I have 9 total) In those nine are the 3 heavy ones that I've got to deal with and must use the zonetable for. That's working fine.The other 6 I have to charge 10.00 or free shipping if they reach 75.00 or more.
quote: You still have not defined what to do under the conditions I asked about on combining the Products in the same order to determine what to do about the shipping ...
I actually don't have an answer to that question. They have to be shipped in different boxes. I know it's not the best but I don't know what else to do. Any idea? I've never actually had someone buy both kinds at the same time:dontgetit
quote: Does the Zonetable shipping module work when you have either ONLY Heavy Products or a Combination of Heavy and regular Products?
The way I have it now it works fine...but I don't have free ship for over 75.00 and I don't have a combination of the two products shipped at the same time.
As stated, to my knowledge no one has ordered the two at the same time...but I'm sure I have a few disgruntled customers who chose not to pay 2 shippings...I certainly don't blame them, but I've never been able to figure it out.
Do you have a good answer to this problem? I've done a lot of work and am willing to do what it takes.
I hope I've answered what you have asked...
Thank you again for your wonderful help Ajeh!
I have not had time to sit down and review your specific shipping needs and rewrite the code for your shipping ...
I hope to get to it later on or perhaps someone will have a chance before I do ...
Re: Free Shipping
If you have the ZoneTable shipping module working properly for everything ...
What would happen if you could take the shipping costs calculated in the ZoneTable shipping module, which you appear to have based on weight ... and then added a separate charge for the Heavy Products to this calculated shipping charge?
Do the 3 Heavy Products have the "same" shipping charge? and is that shipping charge based on quantity or just that it is on the order?
