COWOA Module (my update for ZC v1.3.x)

I have just uploaded an updated COWOA for ZenCart 1.3.9c and compatable with PHP 5.3x.

It is my Version 1.4. I did not write this modification, just combined all the add-ons to be in one install and cleaned it up considerably. All credits that were in the install.txt file remain there.

I did add the ability to be able to turn COWOA and Order Status E-Mails on or off in the Admin Configuration Screen.

If you have your own mods in the files that get over written, just edit the file and copy and paste out wherever it says COWOA above each addition to your file.

Re: COWOA Module (my update for ZC v1.3.x)

Hi, I had COWOA when I first started my site but later on found that I couldn't use it becuase my products were downloadable therefore won't work with COWOA.

Anyway, when upgrading to 1.3.9d, I still have the inserts on the overwrite files. Is it safe to just get rid of all the inserts e.g "If COWOA..etc" code from the over write files?

I'm assuming since the code is conditional, it should not get into errors if the condition is not present? I still have the SQL there and all other files though.

The original version of this particular COWOA had no way to be turned on and off, so the IF statement will trigger if someone uses the COWOA to check out with. At the very least, you should remove it from the login page, that way the IF statements will not trigger because it is no longer an option.

When you say your products are downloadable, you mean that they are FREE Downloadables?

Ok thanks for replying!

Yes the COWOA is not present in the login page, I disabled it. So it should be safe.

The downloadable items are free and some are paid.

In what way did it not work for you? Is it because they needed to create an account so they could access the downloadable files and if they used COWOA they wouldn't get access to the order?

Oh, well if you still want to use it, try my version. I added in what was an add-on to a version of COWOA that will send an e-mail to a COWOA customer and when they want to see there order, they click on the link sent and enter the email address they gave at checkout and the order#. It then displays that individual order number only. They can't put just any order number, it has to be associated with the e-mail address that they used when they placed the order.
The controls for this have also been added to the Admin Configurations screen to trun it on and off.

I do not have downloadables on the site I run, but an order is an order. I have posted it on the file section here, but it hasn't been checked yet. You can currently get it from My Mods Site.

Hi JT

I am not clear what is going on here as there seem to be several latest releases of this mod - yours and those of craftzombie as linked here.

Dazed and Confused

She has her version and I have mine which on the basic concept are the same except she only tells you what files to change and what to put in them.
I went a little farther and added the add ons that came with the original version into the install of COWOA. I also made it so you could turn it on and off and also turn on and off the Order Status E-Mails that can now be sent from my version to someone who uses COWOA. This can be done in the Admin Configuration Page. They can view their order by clicking on the link sent to them and then entering the e-mail address they used when purchasing the item and the order number that they received in the e-mail. They can not look at others orders, only the one that is associated with that e-mail address.

Try it if you like. I have uploaded it to the file section here but it hasn't been released yet. It is available on my mods site too.

PlayscaleMinis:

I take back the part about it working... I've got an endless loop. After filling out Billing Information, instead of continuing to Delivery Information, it loops back to the index.php?main_page=login page.

How did you install it?

I just installed a fresh 139d and it works as advertised.

P.S. I agree about a Step 7 however, if you had come here for your problems first, you would have seen this in the top message of this thread that you have the ability to turn COWOA On and Off..

Re: COWOA Module (my update for ZC v1.3.x)

I'm having a problem with my install. I installed, turned it on, and it starts out ok. The problem is after putting an item in the cart and clicking "Checkout", I go to a page that says:

If you have an account with us, you may login at the Login Page.
Checkout Arrow
BillingShippingPaymentOrder ReviewOrder Complete

and then is blank.

I'm a newbie to all this. Does anyone have any ideas?

Re: COWOA Module (my update for ZC v1.3.x)

Hello,
I've installed this module and it seems to work but there is a problem when customer goes to the "Billing" page":
On the top there is: TEXT_ORIGIN_LOGIN
and
then: TABLE_HEADING_CONTACT_DETAILS
and TITLE_CONTINUE_CHECKOUT_PROCEDURE
TEXT_CONTINUE_CHECKOUT_PROCEDURE

How can I change it?

My site: http://www.needlegraphy.net/

By the way, I like this mod very much.

Glad you like it.

If in our store folder, under includes/languages/english
you have the name of a template, ie: classic, add the files from the COWOA Mod that are in the install/includes/languages/english to that folder. You don't have to copy the extra_definitions folder. The defines for those 3 items are in the no_account.php file.

Under the install/includes/templates there is a folder named YOUR_TEMPLATE. Did you rename this to the same name as your template that is installed in Zen Cart?

Re: COWOA Module (my update for ZC v1.3.x)

You are a genius!:D
Now everything works perfectly!
One more question: on billing page customers see PayPal button first, then information they can log in and, at the end, information they can checkout without creating an account. Is it possible to change it so that information would be first? I have noticed twice today customers have an item in shopping cart and then they abandon cart:cry: I do not know if they don't bother to scroll page and they don't see "No account" option or they just testing my website (but what for??) So I think if this option would be first, it would be more visible. I hope I made clear what I mean.
Anyway, like I said, I like this Mod! Thank you!

One of those carts was probably me looking at your site seeing what you were seeing.

Ok, so on your Login Page, the Paypal button gets setup on the top of the page.
You can either edit the text in the includes/languages/english/login.php file where it has this

define('TEXT_NEW_CUSTOMER_POST_INTRODUCTION_SPLIT', 'Returning customers may benefit from creating an account with <strong>' . STORE_NAME . '</strong> which allows you to shop faster, track the status of your current orders, review your previous orders and take advantage of our other member\'s benefits.');

and change it so they can read that down below they can use the COWOA part or you would have to edit the includes/templates/template_default/templates/tpl_login_default.php file. In there you will see this:

<?php // ** BEGIN PAYPAL EXPRESS CHECKOUT ** ?>
<?php if ($ec_button_enabled) { ?>
<div class="information"><?php echo TEXT_NEW_CUSTOMER_INTRODUCTION_SPLIT; ?></div>

  <div class="center"><?php require(DIR_FS_CATALOG . DIR_WS_MODULES . 'payment/paypal/tpl_ec_button.php'); ?></div>
<hr />
<?php echo TEXT_NEW_CUSTOMER_POST_INTRODUCTION_DIVIDER; ?>
<?php } ?>
<?php // ** END PAYPAL EXPRESS CHECKOUT ** ?>

Move this code to below this so it is below the CONTINUE Button for COWOA.

<!-- BOF COWOA -->
<?php if (COWOA_STATUS == 'true') { ?>
    <fieldset>
    <legend>Checkout Without Account</legend>
    <?php echo TEXT_RATHER_COWOA; ?>
    <div class="buttonRow forward">
    <?php echo "<a href=\"" . zen_href_link(FILENAME_NO_ACCOUNT, '', 'SSL') . "\">"; ?>
    <?php echo zen_image_button(BUTTON_IMAGE_CONTINUE, BUTTON_CONTINUE_ALT); ?></a></div>
    <br class="clearBoth" />
    </fieldset>
  <?php } ?>
<!-- BOF COWOA -->

<!-- PayPal Code above inserted here -->

<?php // ** BEGIN PAYPAL EXPRESS CHECKOUT ** ?>
<?php if ($ec_button_enabled) { ?>
<div class="information"><?php echo TEXT_NEW_CUSTOMER_INTRODUCTION_SPLIT; ?></div>

  <div class="center"><?php require(DIR_FS_CATALOG . DIR_WS_MODULES . 'payment/paypal/tpl_ec_button.php'); ?></div>
<hr />
<?php echo TEXT_NEW_CUSTOMER_POST_INTRODUCTION_DIVIDER; ?>
<?php } ?>
<?php // ** END PAYPAL EXPRESS CHECKOUT ** ?>

Remember to erase the PayPal code from the top of the file if you move it.

Another thing you can do too,

In the /common/ tpl_main_page.php file you can edit these lines and turn off the side boxes when they are on the login page.

  if (in_array($current_page_base,explode(",",login,list_pages_to_skip_all_left_sideboxes_on_here,separated_by_commas,and_no_spaces')) ) {
    $flag_disable_left = true;
  }

and for the right side

  if (in_array($current_page_base,explode(",",'login,list_pages_to_skip_all_right_sideboxes_on_here,separated_by_commas,and_no_spaces')) ) {
    $flag_disable_right = true;
  }

This will make the login page wider and they will see more on the page because it won't be all pushed together.
Experiment with other modules as well.
