COWOA Module (my update for ZC v1.3.x)

I moved the code below COWOA but the page still looks like before. Is there any other file I could change? I would preferred to have this option on the top.

Re: COWOA Module (my update for ZC v1.3.x)

JTheed:

Under the install/includes/templates there is a folder named YOUR_TEMPLATE. Did you rename this to the same name as your template that is installed in Zen Cart?

Yes, I had done that, but that gave me a clue as to where the problem might lay, so I reuploaded all the files for the mod and now it works! So somewhere along the way something must have been compromised in the ftp process. It seems to be working fine now. Thanks for the help and thanks for a great mod.

Well, shoot...I spoke to soon...seems to be working fine with one exception....no email with instructions on how to view the status of their order. I did set this to "true" in the admin side.

More ideas?

Re: COWOA Module (my update for ZC v1.3.x)

JTheed! I am sorry! You were right! I have just made mistake. I change code in /includes/templates/template_default/templates/ tpl_login_default.php Now I have changed /templates/classic/templates/tpl_login_default.php and it works! How silly of me.
But the only thing I don't know is how to get rid of "Or" that remains below PayPal button. I've tried to look for it in languages/english/ but I couldn't find any "Or". Any advice? When I do it, I will stop disturbing you, I promise:D!

No problem, I don't mind helping.

In the same file at the bottom of the code that you moved for the PayPal button, remove this line:

<?php echo TEXT_NEW_CUSTOMER_POST_INTRODUCTION_DIVIDER; ?>

All of that for just an 'or' :shocking:

Disregard the above message even though it is what you are looking for and try this one. It puts PayPal at the bottom and puts or between each of the different choices.

And once again, if you turn off the side boxes on the login page, it will look even better

Darn seven minute edit rule. :P

Here is what your login page would look like if you turn the side boxes off on the login page.

Glad you like it. You need to do just ONE more thing.

In the stylesheet.css for your template, around line 266 look for this.

.floatingBox, #accountLinksWrapper, #sendSpendWrapper, #checkoutShipto, #checkoutBillto, #navEZPagesTOCWrapper {
margin:0;
width:47%;
}

Change the 47% to 42% and the 2 top boxes will be side by side.

Re: COWOA Module (my update for ZC v1.3.x)

im confused about something.

If I get a first time customer who shops in my site, and checks out without an account, the next time he comes in and shops, he checks out again, I get two customer ID's in the customers menu. with same email, address, name, etc...

I thought it would just display one customer ID for every checkout customer.

It is working the way it is supposed to be. It does this because each time the customer uses the COWOA, it doesn't check to see if they exist, because if they did, then they would just have to login. The information is kept to tie them to the order they placed. If you installed my Version, you will see how many people or times, as some will be repeats, the COWOA was used. COWOA is really a silly thing. If someone BUYS something that has a cost associated to it, then they HAVE to enter a shipping address to send it to and they have to enter credit card billing information unless you use COD. I guess a lot of people think they will get ads from you if they create an account. I have people using COWOA and they use aaa as their first and last name. On my mod site, it doesn't matter as I don't have a price on anything, it's all virtual. That being said, even if there is no money balance, you still want to tie the order to someone, because they may want to download it again. With my COWOA, they can by using the e-mail address they used when they placed the order and the order number, it will bring that order up just like order_history_info. (This can be turned off as well in the configuration screen). If you don't need to tie virtual products to anything, then use a web site, not a store and give them a link to download it. Hmm I think I went a bit farther than just your question, but there it is.

When you installed it, did you just copy the files over to your store or did you do a merge of your own?

That first e-mail is controlled in the install/includes/classes/order.php file.

Do you have a way to look at your database? If yes, then look at the orders table and make sure under the COWOA field that it is set to a 1 if it IS a COWOA order.
Also check the customer's name unders the customers field, and see that COWOA is set to a 1 in that field as well.

Re: COWOA Module (my update for ZC v1.3.x)

JTheed,

I am sorry I am bothering you again but I have a question: when customers have an item in shopping cart, choose PayPal button and are redirected to PayPal site after clicking "Continue" button they are redirected back to my site where they have to confirm payment. Is it possible for them to stay on PayPal site? What should I change to achive that? There is no point for customers to come back to my site because I will get their details from PayPal. I thinks it make all this payment process more complicated.

Cheers:smile:

Re: COWOA Module (my update for ZC v1.3.x)

Or maybe I could remove "PayPal" button from "Your shopping cart content" and "Welcome, please sign in" pages? It would be less confusing. :smile:

From every PayPal site that I have been to, it has always taken me back to the shopping cart. I think that is the way it is intended to be.

That's a possibility, only leave it on the payment screen so they can choose PayPal if they want to. It will still come back to the cart though to confirm payment.
