COWOA Module (my update for ZC v1.3.x)

I've narrowed down the problem a bit:

After Step 1 of COWOA, the Log In link on the store is supposed to change to Log Out, because the shopper is a temporary account holder. I tested this on your marine site and other zen sites with COWOA and this is the correct behavior.

Okay, so on my site, after Step 1, the Log In link stays a Log In link, and this creates the entire problem. I followed the install precisely. Do you know what code is responsible for changing, or in my case not changing, the Log In link to a Log Out Link as soon as Step 1 completes? If I could fix this, the problem would solved.

This code is in 2 places in super_orders.

The email part that is added in orders.php goes into the super_orders_functions.php file. Rather than go into all the details, grab the ZenCart Installation program from my mods site and you can compare your admin/super_orders files against it.

AFAIK the latest version of Super Orders is

but which is substantially different to your version.

Could you please provide a link to or further enlightenment about your SuperOrders 2.1.

I gather your Edit Orders version is based on 2.03 but it too is substantially different to this release, as well as 2.04.
Is a new version of Edit Orders, perhaps rolled in with superorders, in the making or about to be released?

I just uploaded the newest version of cowoa dated Oct. 1. My Zen install is version 1.3.9f. I followed the install directions meticulously but now when I use the no account feature to checkout, I get stuck on Step 1.
When logging in and checking out, I can finish the process.
Any idea how I can fix this?

I am trying to remove COWOA but some remnants are still around. In Gift Certificates .. Mail Gift Certificate, the page goes to a 1054 error because COWOA_account is no longer a column in the database. I'm just wondering which file is providing this text (below) so I will know which file needs to go back to pre-COWOA days. The gv_mail.php file does not contain this text, but may be pulling it from somewhere else. Anyone know where to find this text so I can replace the file?

okay, fixed it, it was a query_builder issue, that's why I couldn't find any file that contained the text.

I had already ran the uninstall.sql statements (which by the way needed altered because names of things following the WHERE portion of the statement weren't right for my database), but I went back and ran this one again, and the query_builder got fixed, at least for supplying the gv_mail page with data.

DELETE FROM query_builder WHERE query_name = 'Permanent Account Holders Only' LIMIT 1;

I have installed COWOA and my site is blank. I had installed a template before I installed COWOA, so I was hoping to ask you, since you were successful at installing it, if you also used a template and if you had any difficulty merging the COWOA files with yours. I am using Zen Cart 1.3.9c at the moment. I had a little trouble with figuring out where some of the files went since there install.txt list of files that changed had a few errors. I got the admin portion working, but not the site. I will try installing it again, but I was hoping to get some tips before I did that.

You got to tweak 2 files to make it work properly

1. /includes/templates/YOUR-TEMPLATE/css/stylesheet.css
2. /includes/templates/YOUR-TEMPLATE/templates/tpl_login_default.php

And here are the changes you need to do ....

I am attaching screenshots of my COWOA page in all 3 browsers, its not looking exactly same in all, but its reasonable & nicely aligned in all 3 browsers.

Nevermind...I used post #20 instructions to hide the sideboxes and then I placed the COWOA login at the top. Looks really good! I like this mod! Thank you!

I have just uploaded an updated COWOA for ZenCart 1.3.9c and compatable with PHP 5.3x....

Do you have an updated install.txt file? I am having trouble getting my installation to work, and I am wondering if it is because of the discrepancies between what the install.txt says and the actual files shown when I download the COWOA mod.

I noticed in comparing the file structure for COWOA 2.0c1, that there are some files affected in the mod that are not included in the install.txt list, some discrepancies as to where the files affected/added are located and some incorrect file names.

Here are the discrepancies I have found.

1. Files in a different location than shown in the install.txt:

Install.txt shows:

/includes/languages/english/login.php
/includes/languages/english/logoff.php
/includes/languages/english/checkout_confirmation.php
/includes/languages/english/checkout_payment.php
/includes/languages/english/checkout_shipping.php
/includes/languages/english/gv_redeem.php

File structure of the COWOA mod shows:

c) /includes/templates/YOUR_TEMPLATE/templates/tpl_modules/os_downloads.php should be:

"/includes/templates/YOUR_TEMPLATE/templates/tpl_modules_os_downloads.php"

I am going to go with the assumption that the file structure is correct and install it again with the changes to the file list above and see if it works. If I am not correct in my assumptions, can you please enlighten me. This will be my third attempt and I would really like to get it working.

Here's an update: I reinstalled COWOA by following the files as they are placed in the COWOA mod file structure instead of using the file list given in the install.txt (by the way I created a new install.txt with the fixes to the file list if anyone wants it). I am still having trouble getting the page to load. It just shows a blank page, however, I did find the offending file:

The modification to tpl_header.php listed in install.txt as Step 1A says the following:

"STEP 1a - In your custom template son your cart, edit the tpl_header.php file and look for this line.

change it to this.

This prevents the My Account from showing up after the COWOA Users enters their Order Number and E-Mail Address to view their order."

If I take this modification out, the site loads and the COWOA feature seems to work fine. Has anyone else had this issue when they changed this line in tpl_header.php? Since this was added later, how important is it to have this change? What is the downside to leaving it out?

I will be very grateful for any advice on this.

Okay, I found the problem, fixed it and tested the feature and it works great!!!!!

Here was the problem. I had added a comment line just above line 91 in tpl_header.php stating that I had changed the following line and included what the original code was in the comment. I guess the PHP parser wasn't ignoring <?php that was in the comment and was getting a "PHP Parse error: syntax error, unexpected $end". When I removed the snippet of code from the comment, everything worked as hoped. 8-)

That's usually indicative of a missing language file.. Check your install and make sure you uploaded ALL the files..
