JT I've read through the thread to see if the answer to my following question was here, but didn't find it. If I missed it, sorry, but here's the question: With your latest version, does it work if all the files using directories where overrides are allowed, are in the override file, instead of over-writting the core files? The reason I ask is that many of the files listed in step 4 of the installation instructions are in folders that have the override ability, but do not show to be setup in the override folders. I know that the override folders don't work in regards to some addons though for various reasons. So before I attempt to do it, I wanted to ask to see, if it's been tested, and if so, does it work if they are all listed in the override (YOUR_TEMPLATE) folder? If not, I'll over-write the core files. Thank you.
If you have Version C1, then the only files that touch CORE files are the 1st 14 and this is because changes have been added to the CORE files and I do not think you can use the override system for these, however, I could be wrong. In the FILES that are ADDED section, they use the override system or are NEW FILES that are not part of the CORE File System. Originally, I was putting templates in the default_template/templates folder but no longer do, they have all been added to the YOUR_TEMPLATE section.
If you find a way to add any of the 1st 14 files listed in the install text to the override system, please let me know and I will change it in future releases.
I just looked at the install.txt file and realized that I didn't change the language files to reflect that they should be in a YOUR_TEMPLATES folder as well. They are this way in the install files though. The pages files cannot use the override system, so there will still be 7 files that have to be overwritten or merged.
Also it shows /includes/classes/order.php as an added file but it is a core file as well.
Thanks for pointing this out to me.
