The other is... After installing IH3 Additional images started displaying in a column instead of a row... How do I fix that?

Problem number 1 resolved!

The problem consist in the ID that "owns the rights" for the subfolders in bmz_cache which are created by zen_cart...

The solution is: Just copy all the contents of bmz_cache to your computer ... delete the files on the server and upload the downloaded ones again! After that set the permisions to all folders and subfolders to 777

And you should be ok!

One more issue still stays for me! HELP NEEDED

My additional images position and look got messed up after installing IH3 ... They were appearing in a row next to my Main image

And now they are In a column?!?!

From memory you were asking a while ago how to customise the appearance of the product info page? weren't you, Image handler does effect some of the files that make up that page so check that your changes haven't been overwritten and make sure you merge the files were necessary.

And always provide a link to your site, as we can only guess at the problem being able to see the actual page and underlying code makes problems easier to diagnose

For small image hover to work on the product listing pages:

the following settings must match the Small Image Width and Small Image Height settings:

Subcategory Image Height

On this page the ones that the hover don't work on are set to 100 whilst the others Промоции на месец юни Specials? are set to 112 so change all the above sizes to 112

HI, We have installed IH3 but our cart is sitting in a subfolder of the root.. There is a LIVE zen cart in the /root/ which will be replaced by the one in teh subfolder once it is ready..
The IH3 install is not working, it is picking up the folders in the ROOT instead of in the subfolder..
Is there anywhere I can configure the install to look in the subfolder for the images??

ANY suggestions are greatly appreciated!! :blink:This tells me that the store in your subfolder is not configured correctly.. IH3 uses all the default image location settings in your store.. If your setup is picking up images from a different location then your subfolder store's configuration file is probably incorrect.. This is not at all an IH3 issue, but a Zen Cart setup issue..

BUT....

as you've not provided links to either of these stores, we can only GUESS at solutions.. (and since I'm not a fan of lobbing guesses at problems, without a link I can't offer any more suggestions unless I can SEE what you see)

How can I make the popup window for the Enlarged picture to be one of the cool borderles one(i think is js) instead of a normal small browser window?

This store started with IH2 and had a problem at that point.
It continued with IH3.

I have now 100% deleted and reinstalled IH3 for the 4th time. This is a super simple install. Every single file has been appropriately uploaded.

Still this problem continues.

If this store has the exact same install as the aaglockshop.com store (except now it has IH3 instead of IH2), what can be the problem?

Now, since I uninstalled and reinstalled IH3 ... what happens to the images I've already uploaded, since they will not be listed in the bmz_cache folder?

Added: Going back into the bmz_cache folder, after visiting a few product pages, I am seeing sub-folders being created and files being created within. So, that is working. But still no pics on the site itself ????

Image Handler is not managing your images.. It's pretty clear based on the links you've provided that your images are not being served up from the bmz_cache folder.. This means that for whatever reason IH3's primary functionality is not working..
This points to an installation issue.. Can't say where since I cannot see your store files.. suggest comparing your store files to the IH3 fileset and see if these are discrepancies in the files..

This question suggests you have not read the READ_ME file in its entirety, because the READ_ME clearly states that the bmz_cache folder makes copies of your uploaded images - therefore original images are not affected when the bmz_cache folder is deleted.

Suggest you read the entire READ_ME file before you install again. Also, when you uninstall, don't forget that you have to run an uninstall sql file before reinstalling.

There's no way for us to answer this unless you clearly state everything you did during install. Saying that you followed all the steps doesn't help us, because most often when there are issues, people only think they've followed all the steps.

The problems you're having clearly point to an installation and/or configuration error.

• Did you install all the files in install files and required core edits folder?
• Did you complete the necessary file merges?
• Did you set the bmz_cache folder permissions settings to match your ZC images folder permissions settings?
• Did you configure IH3 correctly?
• What are your configuration settings?
• Did you read in the READ_ME what your server requirements must be to run this mod and then check that against your server configuration?
• What other mods do you have installed that affect your product layout pages and/or images?
• How are you clearing your bmz_cache folder between installs? Are you clearing/emptying the folder from the admin, or are you deleting it entirely from your server using an ftp program?
• When you uninstall, are you first going in to the admin to turn IH3 off and then running the uninstall sql, and then finally deleting all the files from the server using an ftp program?
• Are you replacing the core files with original ZC admin files after you uninstall and then testing your store to make sure everything works as it should before you reinstall?

This is the kind of information we need to be able to troubleshoot your issue.

It is very rare that IH3 (and IH2 for that matter) simply doesn't work right - when this happens, there is almost always something unique to a person's store that's causing an issue.

But most of the time, it's installation and/or configuration error on the user's part. This is most often due to the user not reading the entire READ_ME file prior to installation.

Suggest rolling back your store to the state it was in prior to any IH2 or IH3 install, then read the READ_ME in it's entirety, and then attempt to reinstall.

Several times you have assumed I haven't read the read me file. Please understand this is not my first Zencart install, nor is it my first IH2/3 install. I've done this several times prior with never an issue.

I know I'm frustrated, and I'm here while you are there, so that it does make it a bit tough to offer support. But your post above was very condescending. It offered no help whatsoever other than to imply that I'm an idiot.

I'll just wait to figure this out another time. I'm too far behind schedule on this project because of this problem.

Actually her post does not at all assume you are ANYTHING..

ScriptJunkie has simply pointed out the most common things that are usually at the heart of most Image Handler install/configuration issues..

We can all clearly see that the images on your link are not being served up by IH3's bmz_cache folder and the most likely cause when this happens time and time again is usually an installation/configuration snafu. I understand your frustration, but honestly speaking ScriptJunkie's post is the best advice ANY of us hanging out here can offer you as we cannot SEE your store's backend to offer anything more concrete.

I will offer one more thing which again speaks to part of what ScriptJunkie has posted.

Not assuming anything.. I'm simply asking a question/attempting to provide more food for thought.. Something is blocking IH3's ability to serve up images from the cache folders, and I'm only attempting to offer some POSSIBLE reasons..

**ETA: **Did notice that whatever you did got the main product images working (though still not serving them from the bmz_cache folder) For example this product now shows the main product image: http://174.121.38.162/~fordbare/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=1_18&products_id=149

Check if you have different owner id's for the bmz_cache folders and the subfolders which are created form zencart!

When I install Lightbox what should i do with that file? Overwrite? Merge somehow?

Most people do not in fact read the READ_ME file, which is the cause of 99% of the questions asked on this support thread. When a question is asked that has an answer in the READ_ME file, (as was the case with you re: what happens to the images in the bmz_cache folder), then it is an accurate observation that the individual did not carefully and/or entirely read the READ_ME file.

Thank you for pointing that out. There was no way for me to know this from your previous post. Please understand that good tech support must proceed from the point of view that the user knows nothing at all - otherwise the support can easily go above the user's skillset and knowledge base - leading to further frustration.

This is just the nature of tech support. It is not meant to be condescending or to imply that you or anyone else is an idiot. Proceeding from the POV that the user may be a newbie is meant to provide support to the broadest possible range of users because it allows you to disregard what you already know while providing assistance for what you may not know.

And don't forget, you could be a ZC expert, but you're not the only one reading this thread. Often, newbies who have problems get valuable information and support for similar problems posted by other people.

You were new once. Do you recall the frustration of discovering a post with the exact same issue you were experiencing, but had an answer you didn't understand because it was written above your knowledge base and skillset?

We try to avoid that here because it serves no one. I'm sorry you feel offended. Take a break, take a breath, step away, have some coffee, and come back at it with a fresh perspective.

Yep its in the readme, just upload the lightbox version of aditional_images.php overtop of the Image handler version

These are mainly Guesses based on things that may have worked for others in odd cases

1. have you tried removing the .htaccess file from the bmz_cache folder? (it needs to be there, but sometimes removing it makes a difference), some people have removed theirs and copied across the one from images and it fixes the problem (again the files are identical, so it shouldn't make a difference, but for some people)
2. What exactly are the permissions on the bmz_cache, yes i know you say they are set properly, from experience i can say that some servers need different settings, (don't ask me why i have never figured it out)
3. can you clear the bmz_cache via the admin --> tools --> Image Handler. and if so is the actual bmz_cache empty when you check it?
4. DKunev mentioned ownership, that could cause problems, although it shouldn't happen so you may want to check that out too

If there was a problem in IH2 then it will still happen in IH3 as what you are describing sounds like permissions, the only other thing that would cause issues like this from my experience is massive images causing the script to time out, but your images appear to be properly optimised,

Are the images in the bmz_cache valid as in proper images (not corrupt or anything)

I've installed this on another site and it worked great, but I just installed it again and the main image is not showing up on the product info page. It does show up fine everywhere else on the site, just not the product info pages. My tpl_product_info_display.php file is not customized at all, it's just the default version. Any ideas why the images are missing?
