Image Handler 3 Support Thread (for ZC v1.3.9)

I've installed this on another site and it worked great, but I just installed it again and the main image is not showing up on the product info page. It does show up fine everywhere else on the site, just not the product info pages. My tpl_product_info_display.php file is not customized at all, it's just the default version. Any ideas why the images are missing?

a link to the store product would be great too so the others with more experience can chime in with more advanced info

did you set the settings in admin/configuration/images so that these are set to the same size as the small image width?

I know I have installed this in mine and several other stores before where the main store and hte test store can be on the same server with all settings exactly alike and one will behave where the other will give problems....just the computers getting back at us...lol

I am having trouble with zoom on hover. It works ok for products in the side boxes but not in the product listing, new products, or featured products.

Places where the zoom on hover DOES work are.

Sideboxes for featured products. and when viewing a product, the section for "Customers who bought this product also purchased" works. Nothing else will zoom.

look at the readme for the settings and make sure yours are set right then post them if you still have trouble

also which browser are you using and its version number. I have an old mac with OS 10+ and the hovers are working in the sections they are supposed to work, even the also purchased place.

you might also need to add that jscript_zen_lightbox.php that you put into the modules/pages and several folders into the products_all, featured and products_new folders

disregard the part of the lightbox files...sorry got myself confused

Will IH3 compress my images in a similar fashion to the option "Save for Web Devices" in Photoshop?

good question, that part of IH ahs always eluded me so someone else will need to chime in. I have not used it and only edit my images with Photoshop and the save for web feature.

Yes, compressing and displaying images in various sizes is the primary function of IH3. You can also tell it (via the settings after installation) which image format you want your images displayed in.

Suggest you download the installation package and review the READ_ME in it's entirety to understand everything IH3 will do for your cart. It's awesome!

The Caveat which a lot of people don't understand, is that imageHandler copies the images from the images folder compresses and resizes the images and stores them in the bmz_cache and serves these images on your site.
The original images that you upload into the images folder are not changed in anyway, this is to ensure that if you decide to change the image type, compression, watermark etc of images displayed on your site imagehandler can go back to the original untouched files, and create new images matching your changed specs to serve up to the customers.

As DarkAngel says its a good idea to save your original images for the web, because if you upload straight from your camera the images are often a 1 -3mb in size and that takes up a lot of server space once you get a few hundred products

Can water mark appears when competitor try to steal picture by downloading and screen print/copy? Show clear pictures on browsing.

Using 1.3.9a and I've just uploaded Image Handler 2 into my website but something is missing...in my admin/configure/images nothing shows up for the image handler options...nothing at the bottom which should have from IH resize to IH watermark...
I've added the files 3 times and still come up with nothing...
I've read the read me file and of course there is nothing there.

I've uploaded twice making sure something didn't happen. I uploaded file by file, then tried the fastest way making sure I changed to my core names.
I would love this to work:(

1. this is the image handler 3 support thread, so if your are using image handler 2 use that support thread, Image Handler 3 is the up to date replacement version for IH2 so you really should be using IH3
2. we can't guess without seeing your site, the obvious things are,
   a)did you rename your admin folder, did you remember to change the admin folder in IH3 to match
   b) Did you install image handler, admin --> tools --> Images Handler 3 --> Install image handler
   c) check for file corruption
   d) did you download from zen-cart add-ons? as there are some extremely old versions out there floating around
