Fual Slimbox Ver 2.0

We have used Fual Slimbox for years on most of our sites. Many thanks to Brian Tyler for putting this mod together and sharing it with the ZC Community.

The transition to Zen Cart version 1.5.0 necessitated that we review and update its files to make it "play better" with some of the new features of 1.5.0.

We felt that the submission should be made as a new add-on versus a mod as it is not compatible with Zen Cart versions earlier than 1.5.0 without changes to the slimbox_install.sql file.

Fual Slimbox V 2.0 should be released shortly. Please limit posts in this forum to FSB2 only.

First of all, we need to define "new".

Is this a completely new install of 1.50 or some other version?

An upgrade from 1.#.# to 1.5.0 or some other version?

Which version of FS did you install?

Will it work if you switch to Classic template?

The reasons for the questions.... You have way too many strange things happening in the background. Some appear to be creations from older versions, some appear to be non-loading of current version files, and some appear to be that Theme 470 may not be compatible with 1.5.0 or the latest FS.

It might also be that Theme 470 has an old lightbox mod pre-installed with it.

Answering these questions (and others in the Posting Tips) will help us help you.

OK it is a new install of 1.5.0

Im not sure what version it is as i renamed the file so it was easy for me to remember

It goes to a new window if i change templates

i did try and install zen light bob but it didnt work and i wasn't sure how to unistall it when it didnt work.

Also tried to install image handler but that didnt work either

OK it is a new install of 1.5.0I would suggest you start over with fresh 1.5.0 files, add the theme and , then, reload FS. Too many pieces left from all the things thrown at the site. You may never get all the pieces out without starting over. Take the time to read all the docs for ZC, any theme, and mod. The time taken is more than worth it to you later.:yes:

i did try and install zen light bob but it didnt work and i wasn't sure how to unistall it when it didnt work.With FS (and MOST mods), there's documentation provided in some form that includes many of the steps and questions involved in the mod's installation. See the Documentation folder included in the latest FS. There's even instructions for those using LightBox.

Also tried to install image handler but that didnt work eitherBefore adding ANY mod to Zen Cart 1.5.0, you should first check its page in the the Free Software Add Ons to see if it is 1.5.0 "ready." If it does not say that it is for 1.5.0, then you need to check http://www.zen-cart.com/forum/showthread.php?t=183643 to see if the mod has been tested and found to work with 1.5.0. Even your Theme470 should be thoroughly investigated to see if it is really 1.5.0 ready.

Recent tweaks to FS don't seem to be on the Add Ons site so I am loading them now. PM me if you need them before the system shows FS version 2.1.0.

In doing testing with the upcoming Image Handler release, I discovered that some of the files in the Fual Slimbox fileset still had old Zen Cart code.. I JUST submitted an update which makes the following changes:

• Updated the following files to remove leftover 1.3.8 and 1.3.9 code and to make sure 1.5 code is all merged in:
• includes/modules/YOUR_TEMPLATE_FOLDER/additional_images.php
• includes/templates/YOUR_TEMPLATE_FOLDER/templates/tpl_modules_main_product_image.php

I also included comments in the code so it's a little clearer for those merging these files with other mods where the changes occur.

Tested with the upcoming Image Handler release and all works well..

Just installed on a virgin V1.5 zencart and not sure what it is supposed to do but i don't see a change

I've installed FS 2.1.0a into my fresh ZC1.5 environment and it seems to work as great as v1.0 did on my old 1.3.9 site, with one exception: I'm not getting pagination Next/Prev for my additional images. Each image is light-boxed when accessed directly, but it doesn't seem to know there are additional images in the same directory.

I've reviewed and my install seems to be okay; will do so again tomorrow, but would you know offhand what areas I should look at that affect this portion of the functionality?

I substituted the file from my ZC 1.3.9h site to the new 1.5.0 build, and the multi-image "Next/Prev" pagination at least displayed briefly before erroring, so I'm thinking there may be an issue with this file and how it handles multiple product images in the new release?

Honestly I've no idea what drives this mod.. I only modified the core overrides files, and tested with Image Handler.. I didn't really dig into the core of this add-on.. Wish I could be more help..:(

-DBB1Image Handler has always worked with both lightbox add-ons, so it's been a part of the testing process to make sure that functionality is maintained.. :smile:

Now that neistudio has become the active "maintainer" for Zen Lightbox, it's very awesome!! It also give you more options for adding a lightbox effect to other places in Zen Cart..

(BTW, IH4 is on tail end of the QA phase.. keep your eyes peeled.. We're optimistic that we can submit it this weekend)

Yes, I installed the new Lightbox, and no issues whatsoever. I'm sticking with it going forward, and am glad to hear you tested with it as well.

Like DBB1 posted, I also installed the latest version of Slimbox into ZC 1.5. It seems to be working as far fine also, except I'm not getting PREV/NEXT buttons to display. I can click on each thumbnail and get the effect and click on the Close link, but not getting any nav buttons for multiple images. Anything that I might have set wrong? Thanks anyone for your help. Also, this could be a CSS problem, but the 2 additional images are displayed about a half inch lower than the 'main' or first image. Any thoughts? Thanks for all who take your time to help us newbies out.
