Newport Eco Template Support Thread

picaflor-azul:

I would take a look at the javascript file to see if this is possible. You can also visit the sliders authors site for more information. Check the readme.html file for the credit linkl.

Thanks,

Anne

I would check out this site:

http://cssglobe.com/post/4004/easy-slider-15-the-easiest-jquery-plugin-for-sliding

You might want to contact the author to see if they can help you.

Thanks,

Anne

Re: Newport Eco Template Support Thread

I noticed that your demo slideshow is not working with Mac Safari (Version 5.1.7) but does work with Chrome and Firefox. The slides are not moving even though the numbers are changing (so, shows only 1 picture).
Anyhow Easy Slider's own demo is working also with Safari:
http://cssglobe.com/lab/easyslider1.7/02.html

I may be blond but at least I found Zen.

I have the slider update changes slated for a future template update. In the meantime, if you need safari working you can use the code from the cssglobe site to update the slider code in the template package.

Thanks,

Anne

I actually misspoke in my last post. I noticed that the templates are already using the latest version of easy slider. If you absolutely need safari to work, then you will need to replace the slider with another one.

Thanks,

Anne

Re: Newport Eco Template Support Thread

I am setting up a multilanguage site with this template. But there are some language defines in the code files. How can I correct this?

Example:

in /templates/tpl_index_default.php

case 'SHOW_PRODUCT_INFO_MAIN_FEATURED_PRODUCTS':
  echo '<span class="navOne moduleSpan"><a href="javascript:void(0)" rel="featuredProducts" class="navOne moduleBox">Featured</a></span>';
break;
case 'SHOW_PRODUCT_INFO_MAIN_SPECIALS_PRODUCTS':
  echo '<span class="navThree moduleSpan"><a href="javascript:void(0)" rel="specialsDefault" class="navThree moduleBox">Specials</a></span>';
break;
case 'SHOW_PRODUCT_INFO_MAIN_NEW_PRODUCTS':
  echo '<span class="navTwo moduleSpan"><a href="javascript:void(0)" rel="whatsNew" class="navTwo moduleBox">New</a></span>';
break;

I have corrected this in later template releases and will update this template as soon as time allows. You can take a look at the Bradford Pure template to see how I changed the code to make it multi-language friendly.

Thanks,

Anne

Re: Newport Eco Template Support Thread

HEADER MENU ADPATION:

now in the header menue is :
QUICK LINKS - CATEGORIES - SHOP BY BRAND - ABOUT US - ETC...

Can I put two SUB-categories in it?

So like:

QUICK LINKS - SUB-CATEGORIE 1 - SUB-CATEGORIES 2 - SHOP BY BRAND - ABOUT US - ETC...

This is possible. It will take custom programming to the includes/templates/newport_eco/common/tpl_mega_menu.php file and includes/classes/categories_ul_generator.php

Thanks,

Anne

Re: Newport Eco Template Support Thread

Hi and thank you so much for this template! I spent yesterday getting to know it and changing all the colors. I had been looking for a nice clean, simple one that I could use that I could easily change the color scheme to a neutral gray-blue and this was perfect. I am going through the check list now on your newport_eco_readme.html file and there is a link to a graphic that is not working. It is under the section Recommended Admin Setting and under Copy the Values for Product Listings (link is http://www.picaflor-azul.com/free-demos/images/newport_eco/product_listing.png). This is in the readme file that came packaged with the template.
Again, many thanks and will let you know when I have it all finished and ready to show off!

Actually, the full link in the .html file is http://www.picaflor-azul.com/free-demos/images/newport_eco/product_listing.png.

When I copy straight into browser, am getting a 403 error. Thank you!

Sorry about that! I just fixed the image.

Thanks,

Anne

Re: Newport Eco Template Support Thread

I perhaps missed it, but what is the setting to have one of the tabs on the centerbox open upon landing on the homepage so that area is not completely empty?

I've looked, but am not finding it, just a point to the right thread would suffice if it has already been asked and if it has I apologize for not seeing it.

And..I am sooo happy I found these templates...they are awesome!

You need to edit the includes/languages/english/extra_definitions/newport_eco/footer_menu_defines.php file.

Thanks,

Anne
