Piccadilly Posh Template Support Thread

traytray:

The code fixed the footer text issue and I am working on the centering of the rest of the site. You are an angel~

Now that I've buttered you up a bit, let me ask how I might stop the cursor from turning into a hand when it points to Shop Our Sale on the main page. I don't want that heading to do anything but sit there and look pretty. No hover, no click, just pretty.

Hoping for as easy a fix as the footer issue ;)

http://designerperfumesnob.authsafe.com/

You need to remove the anchor tag from the text. Do a developers toolkit search to find the file you need to edit.

Thanks,

Anne

I found it, but I really can't figure out just how to edit.

echo '<span class="navThree moduleSpan"><a href="javascript:void(0)" rel="specialsDefault" class="navThree moduleBox">Shop Our Sale</span>';

Try taking out the anchor tag.

I tried a few variations and I ended up losing the entire heading. Do you think you can provide example?

I tried several variations and ended up losing the whole heading. Is it possible to provide edit?

echo '<span class="navThree moduleSpan"><a href="javascript:void(0)" rel="specialsDefault" class="navThree moduleBox">Shop Our Sale</span>';

This has been taken care of. No need to reply.

Re: Piccadilly Posh Template Support Thread

Hi Anne,

me again... you probably don't remember but back in January I was starting to work on getting a new site started using your Piccadilly Posh Template. I wanted the site to be french only so I had switched all the files in the English folders to be french and all was well. You however advised against this... I had to set the project aside because of work Schedule... I've been working on the site again for the last month and eventually I did hit a wall which had me resetting all the language files. (something with the shipper integration.. I need to be set in the proper language folders for it to return the info in the language I need... I don't know if anyone told you enough today but here it goes... YOU ARE RIGHT... :smile: )

Now to explain I am on version 1.5.1 + Piccadilly Posh + CEON Mapping 4x + Canada Post shipping module... everything was perfect... double checked with Firebug and HTML Validator in Firefox also tested in IE and again everything was ok.

Since then, I created french folders and french.php files... transfered all the translated files in there. Re uploaded the original English folders and English.php files in their proper place..

if you look at the page here: http://aigui-arts.com/boutique/

the search box went into the mega menu

the mega menu bar went down although I didn`t touch my stylesheets since this morning... the mega menu went down and to the right as if it was pushed by the search box which was to the far right halfway between the nav bar and the mega menu...

I've been going through each of the post from this thread and I went and double checked my stylesheets and they are as they were.

What could have happened for this to happen... any thoughts?

oops forgot to mention... adding my language files and folders also somehow made my slide on the home page break?

Re: Piccadilly Posh Template Support Thread

Hi Anne,

me again... I'm looking at the source file from your Template demo page and comparing it to mine... am I right to assume that this line isn't relevant to my problem?

this one shows on mine but not on yours:

<script src="includes/templates/piccadilly_posh/jscript/css_browser_selector.js" type="text/javascript"></script>

Re: Piccadilly Posh Template Support Thread

forget what I said above... you do have that line on your source page as well... what doesn`t show on mine is the very impressive jscript code for the easyslider... all of it... and I checked... my jscript file is there all intact same as the original file. So i guess the next question would be what can stop a script from even appearing on the page?

Re: Piccadilly Posh Template Support Thread

officially lost... here is an update

out of desperation I've tried this:

#navMainSearch {
float: right;
margin-top: -200px;
position: relative;
z-index: 15000;
margin-right: -485px;
}

but it feels as if I'm putting a bandaid and not solving the issue... and the rest of the page is still too low...

as of now... problems are:

  • mega menu or nav bar not where it should be
  • the slider script won't work
  • the layout was for 2 columns and now it's back to three eventough right sideboxes are turned off both in the Sidebox Layout and in configuration/layout settings

can all of this really be caused only by a language addon... can the fact that the languages was iso.xxxx and I'm using utf-8 be a problem causing all of this?

Hello ;) I can not tell you the exact cause of the problem, but if you modify the header or add items or remove items, you will probably have to do some repositioning if some of the elements move out of alignment.

I would recommend going in and removing all of the positioning in the css for the header elements. Then you can make adjustments if needed based on their native position.

Thanks,

Anne

No, this jscript is only used to make cross browser compatibility easier.

It looks like the jqueries used for the slide show are not being called.

Thanks,

You must not have the call for the script in the correct file. Double check your define_main_page.php

Thanks,

Anne

No, the character set is not causing the problem. The problems in the header are all css related.

The layout is 2 columns right now. You can see it in the module tabs at the bottom of the home page. Your slides are just short on width for a 2 column layout. There are instructions in the readme.html file for using slides of a different size than the default.

Thanks,

Anne

ok... I will try that... can you tell me too if the language and currency header might be lost as well because of that? I've never seen them show mind you... but saw that there were files included in the Template and first thought that I had to go make that code appear but it could be that's it's always been there but lost... LOL

thanks for the help

as far as I know... the only thing I took out was the text... everything else was left untouched and was working before I did the language thing... but I might have missed something

here is the file

<?php define(IMAGE1,'slide1.jpg');// default width 550px height 300px / define(IMAGE2,'slide2.jpg'); define(IMAGE3,'slide3.jpg'); define(IMAGE4,'slide4.jpg'); define(IMAGE5,'slide5.jpg'); define(URL1,'http://www.picaflor-azul.com/index.php?main_page=custom_quote'); define(URL2,'http://www.picaflor-azul.com/index.php?main_page=page&id=43'); define(URL3,'http://www.facebook.com/Custom.Zen.Cart.Design'); define(URL4,'http://www.picaflor-azul.com/index.php?main_page=product_free_shipping_info&cPath=159&products_id=14857'); define(URL5,'http://www.picaflor-azul.com/support'); ?> <script type="text/javascript"> $(document).ready(function(){ $("#slider").easySlider({ auto: true, continuous: true, numeric: true }); }); </script>
  <div id="slider">
  	<ul>
  		<li><a href="<?php echo URL1 ?>"><img src="<?php  echo $template->get_template_dir('',DIR_WS_TEMPLATE, $current_page_base,'images').'/'.IMAGE1 ?>"   alt="first slide image" /></a></li>
  		<li><a href="<?php echo URL2 ?>"><img src="<?php  echo $template->get_template_dir('',DIR_WS_TEMPLATE, $current_page_base,'images').'/'.IMAGE2 ?>"   alt="second slide image" /></a></li>
  		<li><a href="<?php echo URL3 ?>"><img src="<?php  echo $template->get_template_dir('',DIR_WS_TEMPLATE, $current_page_base,'images').'/'.IMAGE3 ?>"   alt="third slide image" /></a></li>
  		<li><a href="<?php echo URL4 ?>"><img src="<?php  echo $template->get_template_dir('',DIR_WS_TEMPLATE, $current_page_base,'images').'/'.IMAGE4 ?>"   alt="fourth slide image" /></a></li>
  		<li><a href="<?php echo URL5 ?>"><img src="<?php  echo $template->get_template_dir('',DIR_WS_TEMPLATE, $current_page_base,'images').'/'.IMAGE5 ?>"   alt="fifth slide image" /></a></li>
  	</ul>
  </div>

Can you say if something is wrong with it?
