Hi Anne,
I have been using Picadilly Posh on one of my sites for quite a while but just noticed (or just remembered) that the Specials tab in the green bar on the home page does not work. Site is on Version 1.3.9h.
http://www.findmypromdress.com/

There are specials but when clicking the tab they do not appear. Here is a link to the specials:
http://www.findmypromdress.com/specials/

If, for some reason, I can't get it to work, is there a way to turn it off? If customers click there they will assume there are no specials.

Thanks,
Nancy

You can compare your template files to the ones in the original template package. Especially the includes/templates/piccadilly_posh/templates/tpl_index_default.php to find out what mistake you have introduced.

You can turn off the specials tab in admin--configuration--index listing

Thanks,

Anne

I found a difference at the end of the tpl_index_default.php file. The following was added to include main page lower text.

<div id="indexDefaultLowerContent" class="content"><?php require($define_main_page_lower); ?></div>

I removed it to see if that was the problem but it made no difference so I put it back.

I did not see any other differences and the other files, I believe, are the originals, so I gave up and just turned off the specials on the main page.

If you have any other ideas, I would appreciate it, but I am OK with just leaving it turned off on the main page. Thanks for your help.

a lot of adjustments can be done with the stylesheet in the css folder of your template

Sorry, I also should have added to my post "and where and how and what do I change?".

Usually I say something to how but since I have had a migraine for the entire month of March---just been feeling a bit better for 3 days --- the brain was in a happy place and did not think..sorry

I would look for: includes/templates/pacadilly folder/css folder/stylesheet.php

Then Look for:

#logo {padding-top:0px;padding-left:0px;margin-top:-30px;margin-bottom:25px;
position:relative;z-index:15010;}

it will take playing with the numbers and replacing the file then trying the page to see results

BACKUP THE FILE BEFORE YOU EDIT IT. Using mac or pc?

First try adjusting the numbers in the red ones then if need to change the number in the blue one.

give a yell if you need more help

feel free to pm me but I took a look at your site and it looks good where it is supposed to be...of course if it is due to it being oval you can always create on of the same width and height in a rectangle. We are not set in gold as to what our logos need look like.

LOL that one gave e such a problem to do when I did it for a client and we opted to just leave the header be since it was looking better for her site

you need the stylesheet_mega_menu.css file to play with

possibly looking and editing the sizes here:

#mega-wrapper
{
width: 980px;
margin:0 auto;
display:block; <--- maybe set to inline
position: relative;
z-index:9999;
background: url(../images/menu-bk.png) repeat-x;
margin-top:-60px;
}

#mega-wrapper .mega-menu
{
list-style:none;
width:680px;
margin:0px auto 0px auto;
height:82px;
padding:0px 0px 0px 0px;
margin-left:300px;
position:relative;
top:20px;
}

it has been quite awhile and as I said I realy don't remember what I did. Maybe setting things to inline or position left might help but there are several places in there to try editing and again do the edit/upload/try page to see

In your stylesheet_mega_menu.css file change the margin-left on #mega-wrapper .mega-menu to 0.

Thanks,

Anne

I actually tried that yesterday, but it didn't change anything unfortunately.

You must not have saved your changes, or changed the wrong thing because when I make this change using firebug the mega menu is aligned to the left.

Thanks,

Anne

I also tried it in Firebug as well (my first port of call when trying to work out something) and it does align to the left when changing it to 0, but like you said, unless I am changing the wrong thing in the stylesheet, it is still not aligning. See screen shot of the stylesheet where I have changed it from 300px to 0px. The funny thing is though, when I look at it through Firebug again after I make and save the changes, it still says margin 300px?

If you are not seeing your changes, then you are either not saving the file before you upload it, or you are not overwriting the file when you upload it, or you are uploading your file to the wrong directory.

Thanks,

Anne

Re: Piccadilly Posh Template Support Thread

Looking at the stylesheet it definitely shows 0 for margin left and now it also shows 0 in Firebug (although it didn't yesterday for some reason) but it is still not aligned to the left.

The stylesheet I am changing is Line 2 of:

/home/toycrazy/public_html/includes/templates/piccadilly_posh/css/stylesheet_mega_menu.css

Is this the correct one?

In the #mega-wrapper remove the declaration for margin and in the #logo remove the declaration for margin-bottom.

Thanks,

Anne

Re: Piccadilly Posh Template Support Thread

Hi Anne.

Posted this and requested it be moved here...

I guess my first question is really about the best approach. Should I aim at uninstalling module tabs or tweaking it?

I think I'd be content with simply hiding the tabs as long as it's not too much of a hack.
