Australia Post Shipping Module 2.0

Hello OldNGrey,

Thank you for your response and assist. I've downloaded it and will confirm if it works over the next 24 hours. May I ask why this isn't on the regular Plugins page where I downloaded what I thought was the latest?

Regards
P1DRobert2

Re: Australia Post Shipping Module 2.0

I'm sorry but that did not work. The entire shipping tab no longer shows anything. The following error is shown in the logs.

[17-Jul-2025 04:04:41 UTC] PHP Fatal error: Uncaught Error: Undefined constant "MODULE_SHIPPING_AUPOST_COST_ON_ERROR" in /myddressurl/includes/modules/shipping/aupost.php:124

Re: Australia Post Shipping Module 2.0

Actually I may have fixed it by using the current module shown here in the zencart pluggins, and copy pasting the relevant sections from your latest module in github.
shown here.

if (zen_not_null($method) && (isset($_SESSION['aupostQuotes']))) {
$testmethod = $_SESSION['aupostQuotes']['methods'] ;
foreach($testmethod as $temp) {
$search = array_search("$method", $temp) ;
if ($search > 0 && $search >= 0) break ;
}

        $usemod = $this->title ;
        $usetitle = $temp['title'] ;
        if (MODULE_SHIPPING_AUPOST_ICONS != "No" ) {                                                    // strip the icons //
            if (preg_match('/(title)=("[^"]*")/',$this->title, $module))  $usemod = trim($module[2], "\"") ;
            if (preg_match('/(title)=("[^"]*")/',$temp['title'], $title)) $usetitle = trim($title[2], "\"") ;
        }

        //  Initialise our quote array(s)  // quotes['id'] required in includes/classes/shipping.php
        // reset quotes['id'] as it is mandatory for shipping.php but not used anywhere else
        $methods = [] ;
        $this->quotes = [
            'id' => $this->code,
            'module' => $usemod,
            'methods' => [
            [
            'id' => $method,
            'title' => $usetitle,
            'cost' =>  $temp['cost']
            ]
          ]
        ];

        if ($this->tax_class >  0) {
            $this->quotes['tax'] = zen_get_tax_rate((int)$this->tax_class, $order->delivery['country']['id'], $order->delivery['zone_id']);
        }
       if (zen_not_null($this->icon)) $this->quotes['icon'] = zen_image($this->icon, $this->title);
            return $this->quotes;                                                                   // return a single quote

Re: Australia Post Shipping Module 2.0

The latest versions haven't yet made it to the plugin page.
V2.5.8 has changes to collect the latest Australia Post changes introduced July 2025.
V2.5.8a introduced the "TBA" option request by Bruce, has a lot of error checking and writes errors to a log file.
V2.5.8b corrects the issue #24 where the constant is not defined when Admin error checking occurs.

V2.5.8b is in my GitHub https://github.com/OldNGreyBMR/aupost/releases/tag/v2.5.8b

Thank you OldNGrey,

The thing is that version V2.5.8a had errors that cause the shipping tab to show no modules at all. The errors are listed in my previous post. Does V2.5.8b correct that issue? Version V2.5.6 located in the plugin page does work when I pasted the relevant section of code from your from V2.5.8a to the area that caused the fatal error. Or at least it appears to be working. I'm a few days away from going live so won't know for sure for a few days if its all working correctly, with the modified V2.5.6.

Perhaps you could look over the error I pointed out regarding the current V2.5.6 code in the plugins and suggest a quick fix that is sure to work, that's better than my ham fisted copy and paste. I have a very limited understanding of PHP and I did the copy and paste based on intuition and desperation, so I do know if I did the right thing.

V256 is over 12 months old.
V258a introduced updates but didn't check for installation on a new installation.
This has been corrected in V258b. It works on older installations and also on a brand new zc210 install.

I cannot comment on any changes you may have made to an older version as I do not know the details of the changes and you confess to a "ham fisted copy and paste".

Always install and check software on a test site first. Never install directly into a production environment.

Re: Australia Post Shipping Module 2.0

I have resubmitted v2.5.8b for approval.
This version has improved documentation and the overrides, if used, are more generic.
A screen shot of the sample invoice is included.
Checks are performed for installation fo rthe first time on a new version of ZenCart.
The file in GitHub is https://github.com/OldNGreyBMR/aupost/releases/tag/v2.5.8b

Re: Australia Post Shipping Module 2.0

Hi All,

I have a problem, nothing new I guess.
Actually I have 2 Problems.

Problem 1. I sell very small items that are often purchased in large quantities, packets of cable ties actually. The smallest is 10cm x 10cm x 1cm. I think you can see I have a problem if someone buys 106+ packs. I have tried listing as 10 pack bulk lots but still get the same error, Exceeds Maimum Length.

Problem 2. I want to be able to use Prepaid Satchel + Regular Parcel + Express Parcel with ins and sig, but when I do, the system puts up zero cost. When I use them without ins and sig its ok. It appears to be the Ins & Sig or just ins parts that are causing the problems.

I am only able to use Regular Parcel, Prepaid Satchel and Express parcel no ins and sig to get consistant cost with combinations of size/colour.

I have 2 domains, both operating within a cPanel environment.

I have installed and preped Zen Cart v2.1.0 for one of them and want to be able to supply Australia Post doestic rates.
I have dowloaded the Australia Post Shipping Module v2.5.8c module and using the cPanel +Upload to the zc_plugins and use the Plugins Manager, the install fails. So, I have manually uploaded the files, All good I have a semi-functional shipping module, but with the problems above.

Any ideas?

I have conqured one problem though, for overwight and overlength orders, I have added a cost of 9999 and a message.

Australia Post (Exceeds maximum length. Error Code 9999: We were unable to obtain a valid quote from the Australia Post Server.
You may still checkout using this method or contact us for accurate postage costs.) $9,999.00

Dont think anyone would want to pay $9999.00 for $53.00 worth of cable ties.

Re: Australia Post Shipping Module 2.0

Hi again,

Well I have solved one of my problems. I now no longer get zero cost Australia Post quotes. It seems the module needs you to select at least on letter option Then no ().

I still have a problem when selling large quantities. That includes cartons. I have set max weight that can be shipped to 18kg, and carton weight to 18kg but when someone orders 2 cartons, I get the over weight message.

Any ideas?

This is explained in the "cubing.tx"t file. Paragraph six states:
" The best way to mitigate this problem is to 'prepack' any items where you are likely to consistantly be selling more than one at a time. With the example above, a 'bulk pack' of 20 items can be given real-world
dimensions, and your customers will only need order 1 pack of 20 rather than 20 packs of one. "
I have been unable to improve on this approach as investigated in detail by RodG who wrote OzPost.

I have never used CPanel but I suspect you have a corrupted file. I only use an SCP (FTP) program to upload files. I just downloaded v2.5.8c from the ZC downloads and copied the plugin to a new install of ZC2.1.0 and it works.

Something is incorrect with your installation. I would remove it and install a fressh copy of the files. Under Admin > shipping modules remove the module; Then, under Plugin Manager Un-Install "Australia Post". FTP a clean version of the V2.5.8c folder to zc_plugins > AustraliaPost

I have set max weight that can be shipped to 18kg, and carton weight to 18kg but when someone orders 2 cartons, I get the over weight message.If the max weight has been changed to 18kg then 1 carton = max weight. 2 cartons > max weight and is over weight.

The aupost program is set to max weight of 22kg which is an Australia Post limit.
If you want to ship more than the max weight you will need to process separate orders or use the TBA option and contact the customer with a separate postage quote.

Re: Australia Post Shipping Module 2.0

Hi,

I'm using the latest 2.5.8.c Austpost module. With the latest zencart build 2.1.0. I'm getting an error if I don't enable any of the AustPost Letters (and small parcels@letter rates) options. I just send parcels, not small letters. The prices for the parcels are returned but there's an additional pricing listed which appears to be an attempt to get a small parcel/letter price even though I did not enable any of the options. See image attached. If I enable Aust Standard under the AustPost Letters (and small parcels@letter rates) settings there are no errors, but now I'm stuck with a small letter option which I do not want them to select. I've set my default parcel size to 1,1,1 because I know from past experience that if a client orders multiple items the module just multiplies the number of items and the default parcel size and comes up with a ridiculous parcel size and resultant error. I only have Regular Parcel, and Express Parcel options selected. Any thoughts?

Re: Australia Post Shipping Module 2.0

I have uploaded a new version v2.5.8d in the Github https://github.com/OldNGreyBMR/aupost.

The issue of reporting an error if no letter option is selected has been removed. The debug screen now only lists the handling fees for parcels.

Hi OldNGrey,

I missed that post but have now installed the latest module and all appears to be ok now.

Just got this error message but think it had to do with the update being instaled:

#4 /index.php(35): require('/home/a1ntacxxx')
--> PHP Warning: Attempt to read property "errorMessage" on array in /includes/modules/shipping/aupost.php on line 1542.

Thankyou for the quick response it is appreciated.

There is an updated version (v2.5.8e) of the Australia Post Shipping Module in my GitHub https://github.com/OldNGreyBMR/aupost/releases/tag/v2.5.8e

This corrects the following issues:
Check for value over max cover without signature;
check for error message returned from AusPost not in XML format
improve debugging
