Tableau Responsive Theme - Support Thread

Picci:

Thank you Numinix, for your help, and thank you for this beautiful theme.

To upgrade to the latest version of Tableau, can I just upload the new files and over write the old ones, or are there any other steps to follow?

Check out the change log on all versions that have been released since your current version. That should tell you what files you need to change.

Re: Tableau Responsive Theme - Support Thread

Team,
I love the https://www.godblessyoga.com site that was developed using this template. I would like to also create headings along the top such as this site:
with shows, show schedule, meet jim... with my own headings. how was this done, any assistance would be great. or simply put I have 5 categories of products and would like them across the top rather than as a drop down.
thank you

Re: Tableau Responsive Theme - Support Thread

Hello everyone, I'm new to using Zen Cart, having taken over maintenance of an existing site for an old client that returned to me for their web work. The web site is https://www.waterschoice.com and we're looking to convert the site to one of the available responsive templates.

My question is with switching templates like this will we be starting over from scratch to pull the existing design into the new template and re-create everything or will the templates accomplish that for us once they are installed and turned on.

Thanks so much everyone, have a fantastic day and thanks for your assistance.

Sincerely,

David

They are doing that with Easy Pages which are built into Zen Cart. It sounds like what you are wanting to do is connect the top 4 links to by dynamic to your 4 categories though. Is that correct? If so that would require custom programming. Feel free to open a support ticket with us if you have further questions. Thanks!

Hello -

Thank you so much in your interest in our template.

I'm not sure if I totally understand your question. If you are talking about will you have to reinstall all the current modules that you have for them to work on Tableau, then yes. Also if you are thinking that after you install this template, once you enable the template your site will be the same, then that would be incorrect. It would look like this design instead of your current one. Please let us know if we are answering your question.

Thanks!

Re: Tableau Responsive Theme - Support Thread

hi thanks for the great work. i like the design.

i have been using zencart for 4 1/2 years. been pretty used to all the ins and outs. and so far so good. i am wanting to update my existing abbington mega to tableau to be more responsive to the mobile crowd. couple of questions

  1. am i going to lose any data (i.e. customer data base) or is this just a template upgrade?
  2. where can i find basic questions answered (like slide size in pixels)?

current sites are 510ego.com dripclouds.com and eliquidwest.com

Re: Tableau Responsive Theme - Support Thread

also, next questions...

  1. can i switch easily between my existing template and 'tableau' as i am building tableau before it becomes live, so when my existing customers would like to place an order, i can switch it back, get the order completed, then keep working on the new template?

  2. discount codes. i am not able to use gift certificates or discount codes in my current template, it's due to the CC processor and programming..which they will not write new code to allow the gift certs and codes to be deducted before the capture of the cc payment amount. processor is NMI. will the tableau template allow gifts certs and discount codes capture before CC processor capture??

thanks in advance.

Re: Tableau Responsive Theme - Support Thread

I created a folder called 'custom' under includes/templates

I renamed YOUR_CATALOG with 'custom'

I renamed YOUR_ADMIN to 'admurrhtcqq'

I uploaded the 'custom' files and folders to the 'custom' folder' on the server

I went to ADMIN>TOOLS>TEMPLATE SELECTION and the select does not find the Tableau theme.

Here is my folder structure
/
includes
includes/templates
includes/templates/custom

Re: Tableau Responsive Theme - Support Thread

Larry,

If I understand you correctly the tableau template instalation files should be put in the original installation folders.
Is this correct?

Yes, 99% of all modules and templates are that way.

Re: Tableau Responsive Theme - Support Thread

Can any say definitively what the difference is between the free Numinix template and their $40 version?

Also, is there a flexibility cost to using this responsive design? I'm just wonder if it becomes more difficult to make aesthetic changes and adding other plug ins?

I am leaning towards Numinix as there is a perception they support their product. Although I notice that last 4 posts above have gone unanswered.

Re: Tableau Responsive Theme - Support Thread

I do not know what the difference is between the two versions. I have not had very good experiences getting support from Numinix. I have waited for weeks in the past waiting on a reply. Every once in a while they respond quickly. I gave up waiting on them to answer questions. I uninstalled the template.

The difference between the templates is the design. Select whichever one best suits your company and brand.

We provide support for our premium plugins through our support center as well as respond to bug reports through github for any of our plugins. This information is provided in the download package of each plugin. You can also get free support from other community members here in the zen cart forums.

You can search for any text in templates using ADMIN > TOOLS > DEVELOPERS TOOLKIT. Once you've found which file contains the definition, connect to your server via FTP and modify the language file.
