GoDaddy PayPal error - (77) error setting certificate verify locations

There are a lot of possibilities and this lends towards other messages to phones which leads to additional settings as you don't want more messages than required to alert the store owner or a member of staff which is not built in yet ...

This is also better on another thread in the Featured Wishlist so not to bog this one down with posts out of the scope of this thread ...

My name is Bill Watt and I'm the Head of Product for Hosting at GoDaddy.

Thanks to the folks here for letting us know they were seeing this issue and to the Zen Cart team for getting this in front of us.

We are in the middle of a deployment that addresses the root issue right now and you all should be back to 100% very soon. I've been escalating the domains that have been posting here and I know sites like https://printable-craftshop.com have been resolved already.

I'll be reading through the thread over the next hour or so and will try to reply as much as I can. I'll also post back here when we have the full deployment done so you can all know.

TO MY SURPRISE MY CUSTOMER RETURNED AND EMAILED ME TO SEE IF HE CAN PLACE HIS ORDER NOW, AND I SAID YES BECAUSE MY SITE WAS WORKING AGAIN...

... BUT NO ORDER CAME IN AND I JUST CHECKED AND SEE THAT I'M GETTING THE ERROR AGAIN...

It's past my bed time Bill, and now I will have to call again tomorrow, waste more pre-paid minutes, lose more sales...

stiggybaby - shoot me an email - bwatt @ godaddy.com with the domain and I'll look into it. The rollout was still happening when I crashed last night.

Thanks Ajeh, I emailed Bill Watt too - I know that security is absolutely the top priority but this is costing me - not only in lost orders, time and cost of calls spent on the phone to GoDaddy, time spent dealing with customers emailing us why they can't order, time emailing customers to say 'you can try again now' and then it goes down again, and costing my reputation...really fed up now.

I'm also running an ad campaign - on a very tight budget - to send people to my site, this being the busiest time of year, but they can't order when they get there...are they going to come back?

Is this only GoDaddy servers? I only just moved my sites to them in August...do I need to move away and start again?

The syntax above appears to be correct, but I'm still getting a PayPal error - (77) error setting certificate verify locations error.

BTW where is the "UNLIKE" button on facebook. I went to the godaddy facebook page, but I cannot find the UNLIKE button...

I reported several sites this morning to GoDaddy ... I forget if I have your domain on the list ...

Be sure that you contact their tech support as well ...

I confirm that i have the same problem. Our website is hosted at GoDaddy and we have a certificate error when the customer is redirected to paypal to pay. We don't have zen cart but a custom cart build with PAYPAL REST API in PHP.

The code : try { $payment->create($apiContext); }
return an error : error setting certificate verify locations: CAfile: /etc/pki/tls/certs/ca-bundle.crt CApath: none

it's an intermittent error. In one week, we have 65 connections error to paypal.

According to paypal: This error is often caused by old libraries or corrupt files in curl. A reinstall can occasionally solve the issue. Or an update of your libraries may also help as well.

Be sure to contact GoDaddy tech support and tell them you are having this curl issue to get your site running correctly ...
