Responsive Sheffield Blue v2.0

soxophoneplayer:

IH4 install instructions - under the misc tab in the Readme - instructions re merging your additional images file. This is usually the first suspect.

The other is that I'm not sure if it's the case or not, but I thought some specific mobile display code was added to the IH4 version availble on github.

Egad, yes! I tried github IH and it totally mangled my site - mucked up my additional images, sent all my menus askew, and wobbled the little enabled/disabled 'lights' on my admin catalog pages. I gathered github was work in progress yet to be complete (?). Uninstalled/stripped everything out and re-installed the latest version I had from plugin pages (4.3.2) and all worked fine.

I did have, also, occasions when I was upgrading the cart and/or IH and forgot to merge the additional images file, which also disappeared my 'next/prev' arrows but with no other symptoms.

The above solved the problem!
Needed to put the original Sheffield Blue includes/modules/YOUR_TEMPLATE/additional_images.php file
and not to replace it with IH4 additional_images.php file.

The funny thing is that when installing Sheffield Blue I did realize that I have also Zen Lightbox so I did not think that this
Misc tab is relevant for me :)

Thanks Soxophoneplayer and mc12345678 for your help

How can I add a new menu item? I would like "New Products" to be on the top menu.

What file would contain this line break <br></br> circled above? I would like to remove it. This is what is causing the "Sold Out" and "Buy Now" buttons not to line up.

Re: Responsive Sheffield Blue v2.0

Like this template, seems to be working fine until I click on add to cart. I keep getting this error: "An unknown response null: :text/html; charset=utf-8: :SyntaxError: JSON.parse: unexpected character at line 1 column 1 of the JSON data was received while processing an ajax call. The action you requested could not be completed."
If I click on OK it does take me to the cart, but get the same error when clicking on the checkout button.
Does it on both desktop viewing and cellphone

My test site is https://www.montgomerycroquet.com. I'm using zen cart version 1.5.5a.
Any ideas as to what may be causing this.
Bill

Re: Responsive Sheffield Blue v2.0

Great template. I changed the content of the flexible footer Social Networks column to remove all but the FAcebook and Twitter links. After saving the raw HTML is displayed, not icons and links. I tried changing the content to a very simple <div> Hello </div> but again it displays all of this as text

Re: Responsive Sheffield Blue v2.0

Is there anyway to make clickable box-like buttons, similar to what's below the main body of text on this site - www.shortyspumps.com

I somehow made the boxes by accident (deleted some code) and now I have this - www.westnewtonsupply.com

Just a quick point, it's possible to configure the number of posts displayed per page (main toolbar: Forum Actions->General Settings) so identifying the page number that a particular post is on can be misleading.

Thank you for that incredibly helpful answer. If I had found the solution while searching the forum I wouldn't have made this post

You're welcome. Typing the word 'facebook' into the forum search yielded 32 results in 0.13 seconds, most of which answer the subject matter in your question.

Any chance that you're a magical search wizard and can find an answer to my question?

Re: Responsive Sheffield Blue v2.0

I am trying to get rid of the overhanging parts of this template. Like the Category header box or the top navigation. I woul like a simpler look better. I think most is done with all the .ribbon stuff in the css. Maybe there is a whole section to be replaced? I started to toy around with firebug but I think I will "butcher" the whole thing. Don't want to screw up the rest of the template. Any suggestion to code change? See my picture for better expatiation.

Re: Responsive Sheffield Blue v2.0

Not sure if this a responsive sheffield blue problem or zen cart itself, but the site seems to be auto creating banners for the home page slider section. I have deleted all the banners using the banner manager, and after a few minutes I had two pages of new ones within the banner manager section. I then went into the database and removed them all and I then ended up with 4 pages of new banners, none with images but they show on the home page as little dots and when the slider changes it shows a large no picture available image. I'm using zen cart version 1.5.5a. Testing URL is https://www.montgomerycroquet.com.
It's still adding new ones every few minutes. Any ideas on what is causing this and how to stop it?

Re: Responsive Sheffield Blue v2.0

mrbillinny, In your zen cart admin go to Tools -> Banner Manager. Did you try? Look at the readme from the template package. It is documented.

Re: Responsive Sheffield Blue v2.0

Hello Anne - apologies if the following has been tabled previously however there are 118 pages of posts :)

Just loaded this template and have a few problems that I cannot find a solution to so I need your help;

  1. admin/configuration - Sheffield Blue does not appear so I cannot make alterations to columns etc. - uploading of files seem all OK
  2. a second menu appears under main blue menu bar - I would like to get rid of it please
  3. Header logo is cut off regardless of any changes to sizes I make in includes/languages/english/responsive_sheffield_blue/header.php
(this may correct itself if 2. above is eliminated if that area is a fixed dimension?)
  4. I would like to remove some menu items (e.g. Brands) from the main header menu toolbar - where do I do this?
  5. I want to add 'Specials' and 'Featured' to the main blue menu bar - how do I do this?
  6. the product item boxes seem very large - is that by design or are they adjustable? if so so how?
  7. I would like to alter text in the NEW CUSTOMERS box in the checkout - (see image) - how can I do this?

I look froward to your assistance.
kind regards, Mike
