Super Orders is a massive collection of customizations mixed with new
features. Because it covers so many files, I'll break down the features
according to which file they appear in. All of these files are located in
the /admin folder.
Each feature description begins with a new line. All features are in
addition to the normal files; nothing was removed.
super_orders.php
Location: Admin > Customers > Adv. Order Management
The orders listing screen now has shortcut buttons on each order line that
match the buttons that appear in the sidebox, saving an extra click.
Added customer shortcuts, one to find all orders by the customer, another
to pull up their profile edit screen.
The original "edit" button in the sidebox has been replaced with "details."
"edit" now goes to a full editing system (see super_edit.php).
The detail screen (again, used to be the "edit" button) includes
shortcuts to edit the order, pull up the invoice and packing slip, and a
quick navigation system to pull up the detail screen for any other order.
Each product has a checkbox next to it, and under the products in an order
(detail screen), you'll find a button that says "Split Packing Slip."
Select the products that are being shipped and press the button. The screen
will advance to the packing slip, with a green check next to those products
you selected, and a red X next to those you did not. Click the logo in
the upper righthand corner to invert the checkmarks and X's; you can do
this as many times as you want.
You'll find the all-new payment tracking system on the details screen. It
will only appear if the order is a PO or check payment ("purchaseorder" or
"moneyorder" module codes). If the value of a check is not equal to the
order total, another check-submission form will appear to input a second
check number (from the customer if they underpaid, and a rebate
check from you if the customer overpaid). There is no value line as the
system assumes the second check will be for the remaining balance or overage.
Each step will only appear after the last is completed, and data is
timestamped each time it's entered.
super_edit.php
Location: Admin > Customers > Adv. Order Management > "Edit Order"
Ack: super_edit.php is based on Edit Orders v1.59 by ECDiscounts
(the original contrib doesn't work with the newest versions of
Zen-Cart, so I don't recommend using it)
From here you can edit absolutely anything about the order. You can even
change the payment method (note that payments are not resubmitted if
switching to an online module). All the fields are pretty self-explanatory.
To remove payment information (P.O., check, refund check, or balancing
check), simply remove all the data for that entry and it will be deleted
from the database. This a permanent delete, that's why all the lines must
be empty, so be careful.
If you make a mistake entering check or PO data in super_orders.php, you
can change it here. The "Last Modified" timestamp will be updated to
reflect this.
super_shipping_label.php
Location: Admin > Customers > Adv. Order Management > "shipping label"
This is taken directly from the "Basic Shipping Label" contrib available
in the Zen-Cart downloads section. I changed a filename, added some
defines for language interoperability, and recreated the button lable so
that it matches the others, otherwise it's exactly the same.
If it doesn't fit your requirements exactly, the label is super-easy to
modify. Just edit admin/super_shipping_label.php; the entire thing is HTML
except for the address data displayed. Adjust to suit your needs.
Ack: I can't credit the author because there is none listed in the file!
If you wrote this and want a mention here, PM me!
super_invoice.php
Location: Admin > Customers > Adv. Order Management > "invoice"
If the order payment is a PO, the PO details will appear next to the
address information after the PO number has been entered. The order must
be placed using the purchase order module included with this contrib. The
details appear regardless of whether a PO number was entered or not, but
the number will be included once you have entered it.
Added the word "Invoice" to the header (P.O. users typically require this)
Put the billing address in better position for a windowed envelope.
Displays the Federal Tax ID and removes the tax lines (if applicable; see
step 3 of "Offline Setup" instructions).
Clipped the shipping text to remove the details in parentheses.
Added "Amount Paid" and "Balance Due" lines. Each displays either the
order total or zero, depending on the payment method.
super_packingslip.php
Location: Admin > Customers > Adv. Order Management > "packing slip"
Now displays the shipping method with other order info (in case different
shipping methods have different priorities, e.g. Rush shipping).
Added the word "Packing Slip" to the header.
Put the shipping address in position for a windowed envelope (I know, it
usually goes in the box, but you never know).
If there are 4 or less products on an order, the packing slip will
include the product image. The 3-product limit prevents the packing slip
from covering more than 1 page. NOTE: You must have a different model
number for each product in order for this feature to work!
super_batch_forms.php
Location: Admin > Customers > Batch Form Print
Ack: super_batch_forms.php is based on "easy-batch-printing"
written by PandA.nl (Forum PM: paulm)
http://www.zen-cart.info/downloads/easy-batch-printing_v1.0.zip
This file allows you to print invoices and packing slips in bulk. It was
ported from the "dark side," but the original code remains largely in-tact,
as it works perfectly in the latest versions of Zen. The Super Orders
version simply integrates the code more seamlessly into the admin, and adds
a few more printing options.
The way it works is ingenious; it relies on a browser's tendency to print
frames on separate pages (they all do it at this point, most by default).
You select the form you want, for which orders, and the number of copies,
and the code spits out a new window with the right numbers, each one split
into a different frame. Then just press print on your browser. No PDF
formatting (read: a nightmare), and a lot less clicks than the manual way.
The number of displayed orders is still defined by the switch in the Admin
[Admin > Configuration > Maximum Values >
"Maximum Display of Orders on Orders Page"],
however it multiplies that value by 2 and does some math-based
formatting to give you two columns of orders. That means minimal
searching and clicking!
super_batch_status.php
Location: Admin > Customers > Batch Status Update
This file allows you to update the status of multiple orders at once.
The available options are the same ones available from the order details
page. Select the new status, add any comments, and whether or not to
notify the customer (set to "off" by default to avoid unintentional mass
mailings) and you're all set!
The number of displayed orders here is also defined by the "Maximum
Display of Orders on Orders Page" switch in the Admin, multipled by 2.
super_await_pay_report.php
Location: Admin > Reports > Orders Awaiting Payment
This report displays all your outstanding payment paperwork. Each radio
button will search for orders that are missing the indicated information
(e.g. P.O. orders that have not had a PO entered, check orders without an
entered check, etc).
By default it will look for orders older than 30 days without the specified
information (typical timeframe to define a payment as "late"), but you can
include orders within 30 days by clicking the indicated box.
The print format is just as its name implies, prints nicely on 8.5" x 11"
paper. You can click the title in the print format to return to the
regular admin display.
super_cash_report.php
Location: Admin > Reports > Cash Report
Similar to the "Awaiting Payment" report, the Cash Report display those
payments that have been applied to an order (i.e. payments received in your
office).
PO's are not an option because they are merely a promise to pay, not
actual cash. PO checks are included in the "Check/Money Order" search.
The dropdown displays all the payment methods currently applied to orders
in your system. The method name is first, with the module code in
parentheses (in case you have duplicated payment methods). If you wish to
remove the module code, you'll find the appropriate line (and instructions)
in admin/super_cash_report.php around line 155.
In addition to all the unique payment methods used on orders in your system,
there is an option to display refund checks that your company releases.
You won't find a "Balance Checks" option because those checks are lumped
right in with the rest of them in the "Check/Money Order" option.
Like the Awaiting Payment report, the print format displays a nice print
layout. You can also click the title in the print format to return to the
regular admin display.
