well after reading the thread it looks like mabarkdoll isnt answeing questions via email or this thread anymore.

guess the next thing to try is qbi plus ship rush and endicia. kinda sucks to have to pay for them both though.

I have been hunting for a solution to allow my site user to print prepaid usps labels - i thought order manager was the key but I am thinking the solution is to use (Still deciding though) :

-QBI
-ShipRush for Endicia

The cost is $39.95 paid to Endicia - Shiprush is free it seems as long as you use the shiprush endicia package >>
From ShipRush website:

Endicia Account Terms
A ShipRush-ready Endicia account is required to use ShipRush for Endicia.

Welcome to ShipRush for Endicia. Please read this so you understand the FREE TRIAL offer and the cost using Endicia going forward.

First, the ShipRush software is free of charge. Simply use it. Get your ShipRush serial number at http://www.zfirm.com/endicia. If the serial number expires, just come back to the web site for a new serial number.

Now, the FREE trial.

When you install ShipRush, it will ask for your credit card number. However you will not be charged. When you purchase postage, you will be charged only for the amount of postage you request.

During the first thirty days, the only charges are for postage. You can close your Endicia account at https://www.endicia.com at any time during the first thirty days, and all your unused postage will be refunded to you.

In other words, you will pay only for the postage you use, and not a penny more.

After the first thirty days, the monthly charges start. The account cost is $39.95/month, and is first incurred on the 31st day, and then each thirty days thereafter. (Of course, you also pay for the postage you use.)

You can open a single Endicia account, and use it on any number of computers in your office. However the account should only be used at one physical location. If you have multiple offices, each one is required to have its own Endicia account.

There are no long term commitments. You can cancel your Endicia account at any time at https://www.endicia.com and you will receive a refund for all unused postage. There are no fees or penalties for closing your account. All unused postage will be refunded to you according to Endicia's standard account rules. Details of account policies are available at https://www.endicia.com.

ShipRush for Endicia works like a postage meter: You will purchase postage using your credit card or checking account (aka ACH, details at https://www.endicia.com/uspspaymentoptions.cfm%29. This balance will be maintained in your Endicia account. As you print postage, this balance will be drawn down. If you need a refund for postage that is printed but will not be used, you can request a refund on the same day within ShipRush, and within ten days at https://www.endicia.com by logging on to your account.

There is no surcharge to use ShipRush. You pay only the actual, published USPS shipping charges. There are no surcharges or transaction fees. The ShipRush software is free of charge for your use as long as you maintain a ShipRush-ready Endicia account.

Only ShipRush-ready Endicia accounts may be used with ShipRush. If you use Dazzle or other Endicia solutions it will be necessary to open a new, ShipRush-ready Endicia account.

Thank you for using ShipRush! Z-Firm welcomes your feedback at any time:

I think i agree because Mark is continually updating QBI and also provides support if you are having issues . Can only hope if people are successful with it that they donate something to him so it is a continued resource. I know personally, i would be more than happy to donate to something that has the potential to save me so much time ...

looks like mabarkdoll has kinda abandoned this mod, i think his last post was in august . If you can get it to work as it is i think it would be a fantastic solution for shipping with usps .

For me i think the best solution will be the paypal 2.0 gateway once it starts transferring the shipping information correctly . The new mass shipping tool they have works absolutely fantastic . loads all your payments on one page and they all have little drop down menus for the type of shipment and the weight. when your done loading the info it prints them all at once. saves an enormous amount of time. i can ship 30 packages in 10 minutes or less .

Re: QuickBooks Endicia Zencart

I'm also having the same issue. I tried this on 2 different computers. If this contribution doesn't work and the author isn't around to help, then perhaps this contribution should be removed. It's a shame because it looks like he put a lot of work into it.

Supposedly this contribution has been downloaded a couple thousand times, so it must have worked at least partially at some point.

Has anyone been able to get this thing to work recently?

What I find shocking is that there isn't a huge demand for this kind of thing. Most people running Zen Cart need to ship packages right?

Re: QuickBooks Endicia Zencart

About all this package does is run USPS postage through Endicia. The QBI uitility will download your orders from the store, keep track of inventory, book keeping and much more. You can ship UPS and Fedex directly through QB (your shipping information is already in QB because it downloads from the store).

Stamps.com doesn't directly connect to Quick Books, but Stamps.com can read the address book from Quick Books making much easier. No manual typing of addresses. You can also get ShipRush for Quick Books which works directly with Endicia and it provides more functionality.

QuickBooks Endicia Zencart was a good idea in it's time, but now there's QBI and it's a much better option. This program has been abandoned and QBI is heavily developed and supported by it's author.

I tried QBI, but after having some difficulty getting configured, I decided we really didn't need or want to import each and every order into Quickbooks. Instead, we just import the daily deposits from our merchant bank account.

I'm in the process of writing some code that will write the endicia xml batch file. It shouldn't be all that difficult.

Why don't you take over this mod. It was starting out to be a pretty good mod until it was abandoned. I'm sure that a lot of people that don't use Quickbooks could really use this mod and would appreciate the effort. The guy that origionally did this mod hasn't replied to anything in just about forever. He hasn't even logged on since October 3, 2006.

Does anyone know if this works with ZC 1.3.8?
Has this mod pretty much been abandoned?

mabarkdoll, the author of the app shows Last Activity: 3rd October 2006 09:49 PM. No one else has taken up development of the program, so I would take that as a definite sign that this mod had been abandoned.

Re: QuickBooks Endicia Zencart

QBI works great, and you can use USPS Endicia shipping within QB (as well as UPS and FedEx).

Re: QuickBooks Endicia Zencart

Adam, thank you for that info, and thanks for creating the mod. I've never used Zen, but now I'm tempted to download and install it just to see QBI!
