Image Handler 2 (for ZC v1.3.8 ONLY) Support

cre8ive, unless something has changed very recently, only images that are the same size as your small image size is set to will have the zoom effect. Your front page has two different sizes of images.

DivaVocals:

Did you re-enter your image settings? (they would have been wiped out and reset to default when you uninstalled and re-installed IH2)

Yes, I tried all of that. It just wasn't creating or pulling a medium size image. It wouldn't zoom because it had no image to zoom with and on the product page, no image was shown. I ended up going back to the last version and everything is working fine now.

The new version deprecated functions that never worked or consisted of outdated code (ie: the SAFE mode hack, and zoom om medium images code which NEVER did anything as it was never fully developed), added in PHP 5.3 and Zen Cart 1.39 compatibility, and a much improved javascript. After that we made some additional updates to address a minor security concern.. All tested by several users Before it was released to the community.. I have it working now on my vanilla test store with no issues whatsoever..

Thanks for the reply Kathy. I understand what you are saying, but from what I can see there is only the one place to set the image size, in Admin -> Configuration -> Images. Is this right, and if so, why would my images be a differnet size on the front page

Sorry for my ignorance.

Thanks,

Ben

Sorry, I worked it out. Specified the same size as the small image in the new products images settings in Configuration -> Images. All works well, and fancy hover affect is back. Thanks

You should re-review the readme.. I believe we did a pretty good job of covering the correct image settings required to get everything to work correctly in IH2.. (We even provided sample settings) Also you should download the latest update (just updated in the downloads a few moments ago) as it fixes a minor issue with the "Clear Cache" function.. (see my post from a day or two ago for the specifics)

Re: Image Handler 2 (for ZC v1.3.8 ONLY) Support

Hi I am trying to install but hosted on yahoo running 1.3.9f. I am unable to load the files
.htacess
.keep
from the bmz_cache folder as host gives the following msg

Command: STOR .htaccess
Response: 553-The name you specified is not allowed.
Response: 553-Names must contain only ASCII letters (a-z,A-Z), digits (0-9), underscore, dot and dash.
Response: 553-Names must not start with a dot (.) or dash (-).
Response: 553-For additional info please visit:
Response: 553-See http://help.yahoo.com/help/us/webhosting/gftp/
Response: 553
Is there any way around this?

Thanks Shane

This is not an issue with IH2.. This is an issue specific to your webhosts own restrictions.. You'll need to speak directly to your webhost about a workaround..

Re: Image Handler 2 (for ZC v1.3.8 ONLY) Support

Want to upgrade due to a few issues including:
1-Bandwidth recently skyrocketed as thumbnails seem to be loading large images
2- Some customers reporting disfigured images (which I can't duplicate, think it depends on browser and version)

I looked at install docs but didn't see much on Uninstall.
Do I just copy over files and locations?

And. any SQL install as did not see mentioned in the install doc

disappointing but thanksIt is disappointing, but you will find as you go along that many of Yahoo's hosting restrictions will cause other issues with Zen Cart. (for example, SEO modules ALL require the use of an .htaccess file, and they will NOT work without them..)

Frankly I'm surprised you are running Zen Cart at all if your hosts restricts these type of files. They are included in MULTIPLE paces within the Zen Cart 1.3.9 files. (if you've removed these files, to get around your hosts restrictions, you are opening your site up for other issues..)

We added the same .htaccess file used in the image folders in Zen Cart v1.3.9 to the IH2 bmz_cache folder to add the same kinds of protections to the bmz_cache folders.

The BEST long term solution would be to change your site hosting to a webhost that is better suited for hosting a Zen Cart site. One of my client's had to make such a change for this very same reason..

Re: Image Handler 2 (for ZC v1.3.8 ONLY) Support

Yea not the only thing that annoys me about yahoo - try talking to their support for a start. Will be changing in Jan - cant wait! May I ask what we are open to? We are a COD operation so not too vulnerable there but clients email addresses? I have not yet implemented SSL as worried what yahoo might do to my database.

Did not remove anny files but now that I think about it when I first loaded files there were a couple of htacess files that did not go thro - was REALLY ignorant in those days and as thing worked just ignored it - Oops

Being a COD operation does not minimize your exposure to site hacks if you are bypassing Zen Cart security measures..

I'd suggest asking this question in a more appropriate part of the forum as the answer and any continuing discussion of this subject is WELL off topic for the IH2 support thread..> shanesoine:

Re: Image Handler 2 (for ZC v1.3.8 ONLY) Support

The IH2 install and uninstall functions handle adding and removing the proper SQL needed to run IH2.. Follow the install instructions to properly install IH2.

Thats a sign that IH isn't installed correctly

This sky rocketing didn't perchance happen after installing an seo mod like simple seo
If you click to view a larger image on pages like this, it won't work
http://www.cvtreasures.com/special-memorabilia-collections-john-wayne-memorabilia-c-101_156/john-wayne-autographed-western-color-photo-p-2127

because the mod is rewriting the popup url

see here

http://www.zen-cart.com/forum/showpost.php?p=599818&postcount=389

also i can see no trace of IH on your site and as your page appears to be heavily customised, with loads of font tags (depreceated now days) etc, and there seem to be nesting errors with tables and divs, have you tried validating

Something is seriously borked with the site, as just looking around the site i got this

Your connection to this server has been blocked in the firewall.

You need to contact Camelot-Hosting Support with the following IP address.

Your blocked IP address is 60.234.139.228

The only things I did were look at the site, try and run it through the W3c validator and open the site in an alternate browser (Amaya)

BUT...

I could have mis-read the O/P:huh:.
