"Whats New" Scrolling Sidebox

I, too, have both IMH2 and this scrolling sidebox installed. In fact, the scrolling sidebox works perfectly in FireFox and Safari, but gets buggy in IE7, e.g., only texts are scrolling, the images become static and displaying vertically all the way down the page. Would that be a IE bug?

I have changed the sidebox to the "old" one but would really love to hear any fix as well.

Since I have installed the "What's new" Scroller the internet explorer shows a mistake in the site. " myHint is undefined". The site runs but the exclamation mark is shown on the left site of the browser window. It appears after the mouse is moves over the sidebox.
The only myHint I found is in line 74, but I don't know how to define it.

actually...its not, here is the offending line, on (or around line 66)
onMouseOver="myHint.show('TT4')" onMouseOut="myHint.hide()"I removed this part, it still works as I want and , there are no more error shown in IE, didnt see any mouseover effects anyway :wink:

was going to answer this AM, but see you fixed it, bet it was because you have your own template and you needed to add a "sideboxes" folder and then add the tpl file to that?

3 Questions.

1. Can I set the "Whats New" to all products. Mine is seasonal. So i just want them all to scroll.

2. Can I make the sidebox larger? So it can show 4 or 5 of them at a time.

3. Did anyone figure out how to fix the Zoom Small Image Bug in ie??

is there an example of this add-on in use?

im trying to list my products out so that the visitor uses some side scrolling to view.. please see screen shot..

Hey, this is kinda funny... The images act as links to items. Stacked all the way down the page... Figured untill I get a fix. Id just put them on the bottom of the columns. See https://www.timeofyear.com in IE only.

I like this contribution - so thanks for the work on it, and I realize it isn't fully supported --- but...

Users should be aware of what I have observed and hope someone can suggest a solution:
Although the image sizes are the same as Small Image and would use IH2 in other circumstances the scrolling sidebox doesn't - this would be nice, but not a deal killer. What folks should be aware of however is that if you are using IH2 to automatically optimize images the scrolling sidebox doesn't use those optimized images but rather the original -- this means that if you have selected the default 5 images set in tpl_whats_new.php - then I think all five of those images are going to load when the page loads - in my case the images are 25KB+ each which could run into more than 130KB of bandwidth...

Does anyone have an idea how to get the scrolling sidebox to pull different sized images? ideally IH2 images... ?

is it just going to size the image based on the DIMENSIONS of small image?

Any solution for this one? I'm getting the same problem on the 6 stores that I have installed this contribution on. I wouldn't have noticed it but the last store I installed it on has a very high new product rotation so they are wondering why products from the initial set up over 3 months ago are still appearing as new products.

Any help or a pointer in the direction to start looking would be great.

For me the box is not scrolling, the pictures just change. Is it supposed to be like this, or scroll?

i'd just upgrade my database from 1.3.0 to 1.3.8 and i notice that this mod is not functioning...anyone?

Hi everyone,
I tried to modify this tpl file and adapt it for the featured products to scroll the same way but it did not work.
I changed all the "whats_new" with "featured" in the code, I thought was a brilliant idea :frusty: I was wrong.
Anyone has the reason why?
