"Whats New" Scrolling Sidebox

Hi everyone,
I tried to modify this tpl file and adapt it for the featured products to scroll the same way but it did not work.
I changed all the "whats_new" with "featured" in the code, I thought was a brilliant idea :frusty: I was wrong.
Anyone has the reason why?

Thanks for that Misty, I have that one.
The "Whats New" for 1.3.8 seams to be more stable and looks a bit different.
It puts a border, as per css, around each product.
You seam to understand code, can you have a look at that one?

I have just noticed in IE7 the "whats new" and the "featured" don't work at all.
The text scrolls and the images line up vertically staying still.
Any idea for a solution?

This is reason scrolling broken....slight alteration in code is
required i.e.

Thanks Misty, that worked great.
I would like to have the 3 scrolling sideboxes "new" "featured" and "sapecials" looking the same.
Featured and Specials have the same code but the Whats New scrolling box for 1.3.8 it behaves different, would it be easy to to make the three of them look the same?

so i have been working along and fixed the scrolling with IH2 with my site. but i found out that on ie6 it now doesnt work? i already added the lines you mentioned for it to work with ie7 and that works great. but something changed and now its broken with 6? i have been asking around, but nobody seems to know the answer yet.

Specials and Featured scrolling sideboxes work fine in IE6 with Image
Handler 2 installed ..See post above and

i have a problem with scrolling whats new and featured sideboxes.

my whats new shows always only 2 same products and i have over 1000 new products (thanks to EasyPopulate).
my featured sidebox shows same 5 products and they are not featured but only new.

whats wrong, can somebody help me?

default sideboxes (non-scrolling) work just fine.

Have you set, via admin, how many products in each,
you wish to show?

these are my settings:

Random New Products for SideBox: 3
Random Products On Special for SideBox: 2

...all other maximum display values are set to at least 10.

but i don't think that's the problem.

first, the boxes display always the SAME 2/5 products, not random from 1200. i thought it might have something to do with the date added, but it doesn't because these products were "somewhere in the middle".

and second, my FEATURED sidebox displays products that i haven't set to featured, these are ONLY new. Also, there are 1200 other new products, why do i always get the same 5 (not featured!!!) in the box?

btw, i removed scrolling from site because i need it operational...

there are display errors with scroling side box in IE 6 and 7
