Yahootreemenu with ajax.

ctcentralinfo:

In stead of doing that cut and paste what's on your tree.css file to the styleesheet of the template you are using.

BRILLIANT! I was toasted, couldn't figure out what to do to get it to work. Moving the css into my template's stylesheet.css did the trick! :bigups:

Re: Yahootreemenu with ajax.

solucionoproblemas:

Some of my categories didn´t expand. I noticed it was when the name of any subcategory contains the symbol & (ej: html code ó for accent). If the xml generated by load_branch.php contains the & symbol when converts category name to html code, then the xml generated fail on parsing.

Just need to find in load_branch.php the code:
echo htmlentities($cat['categories_name']) . $productsCountForTitle ."\n";

and replace with:
echo str_replace('&','&', htmlentities($cat['categories_name'])) . $productsCountForTitle ."\n";

replacing the symbol & with the string "&" makes xml parse it fine and the category three expands

BTW, im spanish and any categories using accents failed (á é í ó ú). If your categories tree doesn´t expand, search for any symbol that htmlentities converts to &anything.

hope that helps and congratulations for that great mod!

THANK YOU!!! Thanks for posting this solution. I have a site that uses lots of French words, like Château, with accent characters. This caused certain branches of the cat tree to not open. Making your change to load_branch.php fixed it! :cool:

Re: Yahootreemenu with ajax.

This sidebox is causing an error in IE 8. Page did not load entirely. Firefox 3.5 was fine. Seemed to happen on main_page=product_info for all products.
Error Message is:

Webpage error details

User Agent: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 8.0; Windows NT 5.1; Trident/4.0; .NET CLR 1.1.4322; .NET CLR 2.0.50727; InfoPath.2; .NET CLR 3.0.4506.2152; .NET CLR 3.5.30729)

I have turned the sidebox off and gone back to the old Categories menu. To the author: I'm happy to try to help troubleshoot this if I can be of help, but I need IE users to be able to see the products in my store. :smile:

Re: Yahootreemenu with ajax.

If I'm on a secure (https) page and use the small icon to expand down the subcategories, the link refers to an https page for the subcategory link.

If you then add a product to the cart from this https page it throws a secure non-secure warning.

This is happening with IE 8 and Zen Cart 1.3.8a

Thanks

Re: Yahootreemenu with ajax.

Is there a way to expand only one category using this yahoo menu tree add-on?

Basically have 5 categories with sub-categories and I'd like have the page load with only one select category expanded.

It'd also be great to be able to know how to expand selected categories individually by choice.

Ideally, it'd be cool to add an option for this under each category edit page in the admin. (feature request :clap:)

Re: Yahootreemenu with ajax.

Hi! for those who want to change to utf8 and have special characters in category names (spanish, french, etc), they should make the following in order to display them fine:

in load_branch.php line 135 and tpl_yahootreemenu.php lines 354, 357.

find:

htmlentities(whatevercomeshere)

replace with:

htmlentities(whatevercomeshere, ENT_COMPAT, CHARSET)

Otherwise, htmlentities takes ISO-8859-1 as default charset.

Hope this help.

Re: Yahootreemenu with ajax.

i loaded this today on the latest zen-cart (1.3.9d) and it worked.. well almost
the images wont load.. and i spent a while going through my directory permissions thinking thats the problem.. then i noticed the tree.css stylesheet doesn't load at all.
it's there in the code in includes/templates/template_default/sideboxes/tpl_yahootreemenu.php, but for some reason once the div is loaded, everything below it doesn't!

my quick fix was as follows on tpl_yahootreemenu.php (the red bits, including the dot added to line 2 with the <div> tag)

$content ='<link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="includes/templates/template_default/css/tree.css" />';
$content .= '<div id="' . str_replace('_', '-', $box_id . 'Content') . '" class="sideBoxContent">' . "\n";
$content .= '<link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="' . $template->get_template_dir('tree.css', DIR_WS_TEMPLATE, $current_page_base,'css') . '/tree.$
$content .= '<script type="text/javascript" src="' . $template->get_template_dir('YAHOO.js', DIR_WS_TEMPLATE, $current_page_base,'jscript'). '/YAHOO.js">

this way i can unload the module if i want to, without having to edit any other files.. as i'm still unsure how stable it is, seeing how the stylesheet link was completely gone, etc

i'm fairly good with php, but i don't know jack with JS and Ajax.. and it bugs me that there's no well maintained categories module apart from the JS tree menu (which works nicely, but the visuals are a bit broken on ie8) and this Ajax tree menu that's a total mess at first :(

Re: Yahootreemenu with ajax.

Hey guys.

How do I display this menu in the main content block of a Zen Cart implementation?

I copied the code out of the templates/sideboxes/tpl_yahootreemenu.php into my main content block but I get a javascript error :

Webpage error details

User Agent: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 8.0; Windows NT 6.1; Trident/4.0; SLCC2; .NET CLR 2.0.50727; .NET CLR 3.5.30729; .NET CLR 3.0.30729; Media Center PC 6.0; MDDS; .NET4.0C; InfoPath.3)
Timestamp: Mon, 11 Oct 2010 18:47:15 UTC

Message: 'document.getElementById(...)' is null or not an object
Line: 1
Char: 1217
Code: 0
URI: http://partywarehouse.co.nz/zen/includes/templates/template_default/jscript/treeview.js

My guess is it is looking for an element to load itself into but it can't find it on the page...which is fair because I don't have a left or right column.

Cheers, John.

Re: Yahootreemenu with ajax.

First off thanks for the great mod!

I have been using this for many years now, but have needed to change hosting companies. This menu now however no longer functions. If you click on the first category nothing displays.

If I turn javascript off in the browser the menu works in non-ajax mode just fine.

If I set the following option in yahootreemenu.php the menu works as well:

// Do you want tou use this menu without AJAX.
// This may be useful for the websites with a little number of the categories
define('YAHOOTREEMENU_WITHOUT_AJAX', true);

Does the server have any requirements in order to run ajax properly and if so what do I need to ask my new hosting company to enable on their servers? That's about all I can think of to why it's not working.

Thanks.
