Re: Yahootreemenu with ajax.

tried the www thing and it did not seem to work.

i think i might know why the ajax aspect is not working. below is the XML response. there is a little message being attached to the bottom which i think might be messing it up. any ideas how to get around this?

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="iso-8859-1"?><root> <category> <name>

General (2)

</name> <id>

4

</id> <productscount>

2

</productscount> <childcount>

0

</childcount> <multiexpand>

1

</multiexpand> </category> </root> <!-- <https://www.000webhost.com> Analytics Code --> <script type="text/javascript" language="javascript"> var websiteID='ghazalis.web44.net'; </script> <script type="text/javascript" language="javascript" src="http://analytics.hosting24.com/s.php"></script > <noscript> <a href="http://www.hosting24.com/" target="_blank"><img src="http://analytics.hosting24.com/s.php?websiteID =ghazalis.web44.net&from=noscript" alt="web hosting"></a> </noscript> <!-- End Of Code -->

Yes, you're right. It doesn't work because that additional message. That message makes XML response invalid.
Menu will work only with valid XML response.

You have to find the place where that message added.
If that message was added by the hosting provider, ask him to remove it.

You also can turn off ajax function

change
define('YAHOOTREEMENU_WITHOUT_AJAX', false);
to
define('YAHOOTREEMENU_WITHOUT_AJAX', true);

in the includes/extra_datafiles/yahootreemenu.php file

Re: Yahootreemenu with ajax.

Help, love ajax but certain categories do not work.

Is there a limit on how many categories or sub-cats one can have?

My Site: jpfinewines.com

Further down the list, "Whites" & "Reds" each with 10+ sub-cats do not open. Everything else works like a gem. Please help, trying to setup the rest of my site so I can get products loaded on.

Thanks

Re: Yahootreemenu with ajax.

same as ever buddy..
just put the www in front of the url and it will work out
you should edit the .htaccess as it was said earlier by me in this thread.
All you have to do is reading carefully all the thread ( is very long i know...) and you'll find all the answers you need.

have a nice time

Re: Yahootreemenu with ajax.

Arghhhh. This module is fantastic, but an absolute anus to style.

I'm trying to style the top level categories in a different way to the sub-cats. It's really hard to do since each class goes up numerically (ygtv1, ygtv2 etc).

Is there a way of doing this? Do I have to dive into the js?

Re: Yahootreemenu with ajax.

My menu's AJAX doesn't seem to be working or in effect. Any idea what this could possibly be?

The sub-cat's do drop down but after the main category link page loads.

I've realized the smooth subcategory drop down is only working from a little square next to the category text. I think this might be because the images aren't loading.

Any help on this is appreciated thanks!

This is what the link code is on my website where the drop down doesn't work:

<td> <a id="ygtvlabelel1" class="ygtvlabel" onmouseout="document.getElementById('ygtvt1').className=YAHOO.widget.TreeView.getNode('yahootreemenuContent',1).getStyle()" onmouseover="document.getElementById('ygtvt1').className=YAHOO.widget.TreeView.getNode('yahootreemenuContent',1).getHoverStyle()" target="_self" href="http://www.example.com/shop/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=75">Accessories</a> </td>

Here's the code from the example website it does work:

<td> <a id="ygtvlabelel1" class="ygtvlabel" onmouseout="document.getElementById('ygtvt1').className=YAHOO.widget.TreeView.getNode('yahootreemenuContent',1).getStyle()" onmouseover="document.getElementById('ygtvt1').className=YAHOO.widget.TreeView.getNode('yahootreemenuContent',1).getHoverStyle()" target="_self" href="javascript:YAHOO.widget.TreeView.getNode('yahootreemenuContent',1).toggle()">Hardware (6)</a> </td>

Why would that part of the code not change?

Re: Yahootreemenu with ajax.

So has anyone solved this one - How do I make the AJAX version have the subcategories expanded upon the load of the main page?

Re: Yahootreemenu with ajax.

Hey all,

Havin some trouble with this here module.

I have a site which has in excess of 15,000 products and I have the Yahoo Tree Menu installed on there.

http://dev.phmediagroup.co.uk/~clarkcrafts/

(The yahoo one is underneath the static category list)

The strange thing is that the drop down works, but not for a certain category (craft shop1). Earlier, I discovered that there were products within the subcats, but I sorted that out, completely repopulated the site, but it still doesnt drop down - the loading animation still shows, but stops.

Can anyone help me?

Thanks,
Tom

Re: Yahootreemenu with ajax.

Sorted it actually,

Turns out it was because one of the categories contained a troublesome character (é) which obviously cause some issues with the script.

Re: Yahootreemenu with ajax.

Is this working with 1.3.8? My jaw hit the desk when I saw this add-on.

I tried installing it for 1.3.8 using the 1.3.6 version and it pages load the same way as always.

Re: Yahootreemenu with ajax.

Hello all,
I must be confused. As far as I can tell, this loads the whole category tree in advance. Is this true? I expected it to only go deep enough to render the current view. I have lots of categories (661 at the moment) and it takes almost 10 seconds for a page to load. Turning this sidebox off makes the page load in less than a second. I am using v0.9 in a modified zencart 1.3.7 (lots 1.3.8 code plus other things). I do have define('YAHOOTREEMENU_WITHOUT_AJAX', false), but it doesn't seem to make any difference in load speed. Could it have something to do with how the categories are set up? No categories have both products and subcategories, and no category descriptions have uncommon characters. Could someone enlighten me or give me some pointers?

I am using this with version 1.3.8 and it works well. The only problem I am having is enabling links on Parent Items... and I'm not sure if this is a YTM issue or general ZC config issue.

If anyone could help me to fix this problem I would greatly appreciate it!
