i've had the same problem. i posted it on 1st page of this thread...
anyhow, can be fixed in this file...
\includes\templates\template_default\sideboxes\tpl _subscribe.php
Zen Follower
here's the edited tag on line 27:
$content .= "<table width='100%' cellpadding='0' cellspacing='6'><tr><td colspan='2'>Don't miss news of our Specials and New Products!<br />Enter your email address to subscribe to our Newsletter.</td></tr><tr><td>";
it is just that you have to change the width to 100%...
let me know if things work fine...

dang, mine already has that...
Tim.

could it be becasue my button is on the same line?
how can i move it to below?

I must have something that I either always remember to set, or that I don't change that you guys do, because I've installed this on four different servers and I've not run into this.
[correction...]
Just figured it out...the table hack actually gave me the clue.
You guys are still using a table layout-I'm guessing mods on the classic/bluestrip templates that dump everything into tables.
I've only been testing using layouts derived off the default template, which in 1.3 is (mostly) table-less, so the fields aren't forced into <tr> and <td>.
I'm going to do some more testing to make sure I'm correct in this, but in the meantime if you edit the template templates/your_template/sideboxes/tpl_subscribe.php and add a <br /> on line 26 before:
$content .= zen_image_submit....
so it's
$content .= '<br />' . zen_image_submit....
It will force a manual break before the button, which I think should solve your problem. You might also want one before the input button (line 17):
$content .= '<br />' . zen_draw_input_field(
No offense to the other solution but I really hate using tables to enforce a layout.

Thanks for getting back so quickly!
I'll make sure that adjustment is in the next release (probably this weekend) and add it to a 'patch' section on my site's info page on it.

so my first mass mail didn't go well yesterday.
i had 6000+ subscribers.
problems occured:
Query error (refer to: http://www.zen-cart.com/forum/showthread.php?t=37706&highlight=1065+query)
some people recieved the coding gibbirish instead of the nice html... ms outlook didn't seem to like my html  beside other mail providers, yahoo one of them.
beside those problems that im trying to solve,
im wondering if we can group those subscribers where every 1000 users (for ex) in a group. and send the newsletter to every group at a time....
is there a script where my subscribers can unsubscribe automatically ?? doing that maually is a big headache.
thank you

Regarding the gibberish-this is not related to the subscription module...it's related to the email or newsletter functions themselves, so while maybe I can look into it at some time I can't offer or give answers on it atm. I'd not even realized it was a known issue (I've seen it myself on emails (not newsletters) from others, but figured it was a fluke).
To unsubscribe, individual customers have options:
follow the 'newsletter unsubscribe link' either on the website, or the same link that's at the bottom of their page.
The page is http://yourcart.com/index.php?main_page=unsubscribe
(follow yor unsubscribe link to confirm)
They have to enter their email address, hit 'unsubscribe' and it'll take them off the list.
I was thinking of changing the contrib so for the email unsubscribe it skips the first (since the email address is present in the link), or at least autofill the field...maybe that-so they have a moment to reconsider :)
If you as an admin need to unsubscribe many people, it would probably be easiest for you to do a sql query...something like:
Delete from subscribers where email_address
in (
'[email protected]',
'[email protected]',
'[email protected]'
);
...taking care...because this deletes the record permanently.

The page is http://yourcart.com/index.php?main_page=unsubscribe this page doesn't have an input box to enter your email. just the unsubscribe button...
and about the 'newsletter unsubscribe link' that comes with the email, it doesnt seem to work on subscribers db, just the customers db ...
finally, the zencart's newsletter is so wierd. doesnt work fine for all...
i tried sending direct email from admin to my email (on outlook) and things worked fine... so i guess im not using the newsletter manager... :schmoll:

My contribution has the unsubscribe.
You might want to download WinMerge (a program for comparing files), download the 2.0.2 version of the contribution (to be sure you are using the latest) and check to make sure all files were changed and put in the proper template folders.
The unsubscribe page in my contrib is mostly similar, but lets you use the defined page editor to set the text, added the email box, etc.
I might look at the newsletter manager itself if it's such a headache to people, but I can't guarantee anytime soon...I've already taken on three non-profit projects and I have kids to feed-so work comes before pleasure (because I do like helping people/solving problems).

I was reading back through the posts and just realized...are you even talking about the contrib I made for 1.3.x? Or are you still working with the one for 1.2.7 (the one that was zipped at the start of this thread). It almost sounds like it.

Suddenly things make a bit more sense.
You could try to copy the unsubscribe bits from my contrib over, altho I can't remember if they have the installation check or not (I do not think unsubscribe does. subscribe/confirmation do.

A thought for your next update...make the sidebox only show when NOT logged in.

Ryk:

I'll think about adding that. You can do it in yours by editing:
includes/modules/sideboxes/your_template/subscribe.php
and changing line 28 to:
if (!$_SESSION['customer_id']) { $show_subscribe = true; }
So it'll first check to see if the contrib is on (lines 26/27, then see if there is no session). Logged in customers would not see it.

i have 6000+ subscribers and i want to split them into groups. (probably 500 emails per group)
i went to the zen_query_builder to create a new row, but i got stuck at the query_string. what's the sql code to select subscribers from 1 to 500, and 501 to 1000 etc...
