Re: Improved Attributes Controller (now built-in to v1.3.9)

Thank you for this great addition to Zen Cart. Is there anyway to sort the option values in the selection box?

Re: Improved Attributes Controller (now built-in to v1.3.9)

Don't they just display in the sort order you allocate them when first creating the values? Or is that what you're wanting to change?

Re: Improved Attributes Controller (now built-in to v1.3.9)

I was just looking to group all attribute values for one product together, alphabetical sorting would do this, but I see I can also do it by using the sort order when putting in values. ie: all one product values at sort #30, next product values at sort order #40. This makes it easier to find the model #'s when putting in product.

thanks again for the great mod

Re: Improved Attributes Controller (now built-in to v1.3.9)

I'm running a fresh install of v1.3.02

not sure if Zen problem or contribution bug, but

if I change option name "option type" from dropdown to radio, I lose default display. Meaning the radio buttons do not display default - even into checkout. Change back to dropdown and default returns. Other radio button 'option types' that were not edited display default just fine.

I don't have time to test at this moment (change attribute_controller.php back and forth) but wonder if anyone else has seen this, or has any ideas

Re: Improved Attributes Controller (now built-in to v1.3.9)

as a matter of fact I'm not so sure the improved attributes controller is even compatible with ZC v1.3.02... which has an application_controller.php file in admin/includes/languages

I didn't notice any difference when swapping new and old application_controller.php files - maybe I'm missing something...?

Re: Improved Attributes Controller (now built-in to v1.3.9)

Hi Kelvyn,

the improved attribute controller is great, especially with your tweak that I don't have to scroll anymore. Everything works fine until I delete an attribute from a product. After that, no attributes are listed in the Adding New Attribute anymore. In the column of Option Name it contents only Option Name and in the column of Option Value it only says Option Value. The Option Names and Option Values are still there, it's just not show in the Adding New Attributes anymore. Before that all my Attributes where listed correctly. Now I cannot add any attribute to my products, please help.

I appreciate any suggestions

Re: Improved Attributes Controller (now built-in to v1.3.9)

I uninstalled the improved AC and put the normal one online, that works fine. When I put back the improved AC online, it's not showing anything :( . It would be great if it would work, since I have so many attributes.

Thanks

Re: Improved Attributes Controller (now built-in to v1.3.9)

Is there a way to make it mandatory to choose an attribute meaning not allowing add to card until an attribute is selected..

Re: Improved Attributes Controller (now built-in to v1.3.9)

Yes you can, if you have 3 option for example. Put an additional option "Please Select" or something else as the first option and select this one as select only. You can find this option at the bottom of the Attribute controller. The yellow box, you can change "Used For Display Purposes Only:" to yes. So it force the customer to select the other options. The customer will get an error message if he is not selecting something else when he checks out. The same with Text. you can force the customer to type something in, when you change the option in the red box to "Attribute Required for Text" to yes.

Hope that helps

Re: Improved Attributes Controller (now built-in to v1.3.9)

hmm, it should work, after you did what I explained to you, please check my shopping cart and press add to cart without selecting anything. It will show you an error message. Please check this links, I just want to make sure this is what you want. If so, I will try to help you further.

Re: Improved Attributes Controller (now built-in to v1.3.9)

Ok good, did you mean, it didn't work with a second attribute or with a complete different product. You have to make always one attribute as Display Purpose only, in each Attribute group and each Product. If you have several Attibute Groups, like I have in my example, than you have to do this also in your second attribute group. Can you provide me with a link to your product shopping cart, where you want to have it mandatory?

Thanks
