kelvyn:

No sort order allocoted - I just want the to display 1-9, A-Z, alphanumeric, standard!

did you ever figure out how to do this? in my situation, i have an option name "color" with over 50 values, all color names like carolina blue and light pink... they are all sorted in a random way... a-z would be better to help me find the color i need

Re: Improved Attributes Controller (now built-in to v1.3.9)

Hi all/Bunyip

Now that 1.3.5 is released there are some changes in the attributes_controller.php file.

I was comparing files with the customised php and am at loss as to what to do. I am no php whiz and am afraid that if I start deleting/inserting code to try and update it, I might screw things up. Any help would be great.

or

Are the changes in this file, in the new version of zen imperiative to security or anything else or will it be fine if I just left it alone?

Re: Improved Attributes Controller (now built-in to v1.3.9)

I have had my site (Zen Cart V1.3.5) up for two days now (working well - thanks!) and I just FTP'd the Improved Attributes Controller to the appropriate location..., did a refresh from the admin page and here's what I got and, of course, don't know why?

Fatal error: Cannot redeclare class base in /home/bond2u/public_html/store/includes/classes/class.base.php on line 17

When you get a chance to ponder that one I'd appreciate it..

Looks nice...and thank you for your time!

Excellent contrib! Like others, I'm only disappointed that I didn't find it BEFORE adding hundreds of attributes... one-bloody-page-load-at-a-time.

Re: Improved Attributes Controller (now built-in to v1.3.9)

Hi,

I am trying to get this to work but am running into an error.:lamo:

Fatal error: Call to undefined function: zen_clean_html() in /home/admin/public/shopping/admin/attributes_controller.php on line 1657

I looked at the file and the line is

echo zen_clean_html(zen_get_products_name($products_filter)) . $show_model;

Not sure why I'm getting this error. Any help would be appreciated.

Re: Improved Attributes Controller (now built-in to v1.3.9)

Did anyone ever solve the sorting problem? When I open the attribute controler the option nam and option value boxes have items listed in what appears to be no order what so ever. It would be nice to even have it in just alpha-humeric order - I have 50 to 100 values (colors of products) and it's murder to try and browse through them.

Re: Improved Attributes Controller (now built-in to v1.3.9)

I don't think it is a problem - it displays the values in the order that you created them; if you'd entered a sort order in Option Values then they would display in that order.

Now, if you've got that many, it may be quicker to take a database dump of the products_options_values table and set the sort orders using excel or something and then re-upload it. (I wouldn't be tempted to change the actual id as other tables take info from here as well, and that would mess things up somewhat!)

Re: Improved Attributes Controller (now built-in to v1.3.9)

It doesn't seem like it's doing that either... That would mean the newest attributes are at the bottom of the list, but it's not doing this either.

What would happen if I went and changed the creation date for all attributes to the same date? (retorical question - I'm going to try it and let you know what happens)

Re: Improved Attributes Controller (now built-in to v1.3.9)

OK, first thing i found

products_options_values has no creation date value

products_options_values_sort_order for most of my items are set to 0

It would then seem that three option-values created in succession (the options_values_id is in numerical order and all items have a sort value of 0) would then be in the list box in order, but they are not - they are spread out through the list seemingly at random.

I guess the question is what value is used to sort these items in the list boxes?

Re: Improved Attributes Controller (now built-in to v1.3.9)

No, they don't have a date, but they do have that id, and that's what the initial sort seems to be on - at least, where I looked. I don't know if there's anything else affecting it.

However, the sort order will do the job you want in a fairly painless manner.

Does this not work on 1.3.6? I upgraded and it disappeared. When I uploaded the file again, nothing happened.

Re: Improved Attributes Controller (now built-in to v1.3.9)

Umm, well, I upgraded to 1.3.6 and uploaded the file...and my attributes look like the typical zen attributes, not like they did before the upgrade. So, any idea why it isn't working for me? I mean, there's only one file, I don't know what else I could possibly have messed up, LOL. But it isn't there.

Re: Improved Attributes Controller (now built-in to v1.3.9)

This mod doesn't seem to work in 1.3.6....

The interface still shows up and I am able to go about things like normal, BUT when trying to add attributes to products, all the attributes (size, color, etc...) show up in the dropdown menu and I have to manually go through the list of different sizes and colors and pick the one I want, AND it will only let me select one at a time.:shocking: Takes forever obviously.

Is there going to be an update anytime soon?

It works perfectly in 1.3.6. Are you sure you uploaded the corrrect file to the correct place?
