Time Zone Offset (for v1.3.0-thru-v1.3.9d ONLY)

digidiva-kathy:

Well, I installed it, but no matter what value I put in Admin>My Store>Time Zone Offset, the time at the top of the ACP does not change. I tried the optional thing and it was telling me the difference between me and the server was 8 hours, which was wrong, so I took it back out. Somehow, that got me closer than I was at first, actually even changed the time shown in the Server/Version Info screen for the server date/time, but still, when I try to use the offset, it doesn't change anything.

I'm running 1.3.8a and the latest version of the mod.

Thanks!

You are misunderstanding what this mod does.
It alters the time stamp that is put on the sales data in the database (mysql time)
It affects when purchased, updated and modified (sales)

To modify the display in admin you need to set the TZ variable (php time)
\admin\includes\extra_configures\time_offset.php
You need to find the TZ variable for your area and edit this file to your area
This should fix the display time in admin

Once this time is correct for your area the optional bits can help you keep the time offset for the database correct

Re: Time Zone Offset (for v1.3.0-thru-v1.3.9d ONLY)

Hi Gilby

Thanks for this great mod. I am using super orders and was wondering which file/files I would have to add the timezone code into to get the correct time showing in super orders edit.

From what I can see, the only file which would be conflicting is the admin>orders.php as I have also an admin>super_orders.php

Normal admin orders edit is showing correct timezone.

TIA

Cheers Heavenlynights

Re: Time Zone Offset (for v1.3.0-thru-v1.3.9d ONLY)

Hi,

I just tried to insatll this mod and it's throwing up the following error.

1062 Duplicate entry 'TIME_ZONE_OFFSET' for key 2
in:
[INSERT INTO configuration (configuration_id, configuration_title, configuration_key, configuration_value, configuration_description, configuration_group_id, sort_order, last_modified, date_added, use_function, set_function) VALUES ('', 'Time Zone Offset', 'TIME_ZONE_OFFSET', '0', 'The time zone difference between your store and the server. Enter +h, 0 or -h where ''h'' is the number of hours. If your store time zone is ahead of the server time zone, use +', 1, 7, NULL, '0001-01-01 00:00:00', NULL, NULL);]
If you were entering information, press the BACK button in your browser and re-check the information you had entered to be sure you left no blank fields.

Theres no reference in my database for the TIME_ZONE_OFFSET, so I don't know why its saying there is a duplicate entry ?

Where have you looked in the database?
If it says its there already it probably is
You could browse the configuration table for the entry and delete it. Then run the sql again

However if it says its there maybe it is
Look in Admin->configuration->mystore for the Time Zone Offset value

Re: Time Zone Offset (for v1.3.0-thru-v1.3.9d ONLY)

I'm getting an error after running the sql file.

My database is named, impact_zc1 all the tables within it have the prefix zen, so I have zen_admin , zen_banners etc etc.

So I never changed anything as all the tables have the prefix zen_ but after I run the sql I get,

Error
#1146 - Table 'impact_zc1.configuration' doesn't exist

Do I have to change anything in the sql file before running it?
Thanks.

Re: Time Zone Offset (for v1.3.0-thru-v1.3.9d ONLY)

I have sorted this

I added zen_

So this; INSERT INTO configuration

Became this; INSERT INTO zen_configuration and it all works fine.

What will be the TZ for India , city mumbai (all of India anyways has the same time)

Re: Time Zone Offset (for v1.3.0-thru-v1.3.9d ONLY)

hello
i have Zen Cart 1.3.7. and time offset for that release installed.
Seams like everything works correctly, when someone orders something it shows the right time in the invoice, but if I set up "feature product" and it's date, then for this feature the time shift has no impact, or at least not the one I expected :(...the time shift is still 9hours.
any idea?

thanks jm

Same here with Super Orders 2.0. The dummy that I am thinks about a find a replace now() by date_add(blablabla) but I don't think this is the right way to o things. A little helpfrom experienced admins would be nice...

Second, a question, this does change nothing in the Orders listing from the admin, the dates remains the sames, nor it changes the date of status update, is it the normal behaviour ?

Thanks

Sounds like a good plan.

You will need to merge the time zone modifications into the files overwritten by super orders 2.0

No, the whole point of this mod is to change the info thats stored in the database to show the correct local date and time

No, the whole point of this mod is to change the info thats stored in the database to show the correct local date and time

Finally the date in the order list is good, but the one if I upadte status is not the good one...
If someone knows where is the Update Status function it would be nice to tell, Iwould be able to change it....

Thanks Gilby.

In the mods files
\admin\orders.php
around line 139 is the code that you need to merge into the super orders 2.0 code

Re: Time Zone Offset (for v1.3.0-thru-v1.3.9d ONLY)

Is this module what's required for me to have my entire store set to Australian time, which is where I am? Or can I change that in the admin panel?

yes

or.... at least it "fixes" the places that are important with the sales data and customer contact.

It doesn't fix every possible place, just the most important ones

You cannot change the time zone from the admin (yet)
