Allow Customer to add to Order Comments

In 1.3.7, in the admin, when you got to modules do you see an option for Modules >> Container Sizes? I intalled this ran the sql with no problems, but don't see this option.

    i think the instructions may have been a copy and paste from another mod... order comments have nothing to do with container sizes. place an order as a customer, then go to the account history page and look at the order... if you have a button/link that says "ask a question about this order".... then the last step applies "You're done." :)

Re: Allow Customer to add to Order Comments

Hello,

I installed the "Order Question" module on my zencart 3.7. It seems working fine except as the webmaster, I didn't receive the email of customer's question. (I wrote a question as a customer, and I did receive the email as the customer).

Is this right? Also I noticed people concerning this thread are talking about changing the code. I didn't alter any code. Did I miss anything? Which code should I change if I did?

Thank you!

Re: Allow Customer to add to Order Comments

heres a change i had to make to get the hand cursor when hover over customer ask question box:

(this is the block around it, if u look carefully youll see ho anly change i made are to add a styled span around the img)

<!-- Start of Order Question Module -->

<?php

  if (ALLOW_ORDER_QUESTION == 'true') {

//		 '<a href="' .  . '"  target="ask_question">' . zen_image_button(BUTTON_IMAGE_ORDER_QUESTION, BUTTON_ORDER_QUESTION_ALT, 'onClick=javascript:window.open("' . HTTP_SERVER . DIR_WS_CATALOG . FILENAME_ORDER_QUESTION . '?order_id=' . $_GET['order_id'] . '",

    echo '<div class="order_history_question" style="text-align:center;"><br />' . TEXT_ORDER_QUESTION_LINK . '<br /><br /><span style="cursor:pointer;">' .

		 zen_image_button(BUTTON_IMAGE_ORDER_QUESTION, BUTTON_ORDER_QUESTION_ALT, 'onClick=\'javascript:window.open("' . HTTP_SERVER . DIR_WS_CATALOG . FILENAME_ORDER_QUESTION . '?order_id=' . $_GET['order_id'] . '", "ask_question","toolbar=no,width=300,height=425")\' style="cursor:hand;"') .

		 '</span><br /></div>';

	echo '<hr />';

  }

?>

<!-- End of Order Question Module -->

Re: Allow Customer to add to Order Comments

ScrapbookSupplies:

I just installed this mod - thank you for the contribution, it is a very nice mod and a great addition to the site! I am a Zen Cart newbie and just cannot find enough words to brag it up!

:clap:

My question is (and I hope I am asking in the appropriate place, I will take this to the .css area too in case I am wrong for putting it here)... Is it possible to add a little bit of space between the area where it shows previous orders and where it shows my account?

I guess I know it's possible, I just don't really know how to do it. Right now the way it is, these two items are kind of squished together, (see pic).

Any ideas would be great! Thanks so much!
Jeanne
add this to the bottom of your template stylesheet.css : {customise 30px as needed)

#accountLinksWrapper{
margin-top:30px;

}

Re: Allow Customer to add to Order Comments

This part kind of works in zen-cart 1.3.8!

But it opens whole new tab in FireFox (don't know about IE).

Is there a solution just to open new mini window!

Thank you very much!

virtualahmad:

I got it working in 1.3.7 as follows:

The order_question.php which is in the root of the unzipped folder goes to the root of your store.

Made the following edit in tpl_account_history_info_default.php:

Line 127 - 137:

<!-- Start of Order Question Module --> <?php if (ALLOW_ORDER_QUESTION == 'true') { // '<a href="' . . '" target="ask_question">' . zen_image_button(BUTTON_IMAGE_ORDER_QUESTION, BUTTON_ORDER_QUESTION_ALT, 'onClick=javascript:window.open("' . HTTP_SERVER . DIR_WS_CATALOG . FILENAME_ORDER_QUESTION . '?order_id=' . $_GET['order_id'] . '", echo '<div class="order_history_question" style="text-align:center;"><br />' . TEXT_ORDER_QUESTION_LINK . '<br /><br />' . zen_image_button(BUTTON_IMAGE_ORDER_QUESTION, BUTTON_ORDER_QUESTION_ALT, 'onClick=\'javascript:window.open("' . HTTP_SERVER . DIR_WS_CATALOG . FILENAME_ORDER_QUESTION . '?order_id=' . $_GET['order_id'] . '", "ask_question","toolbar=no,width=300,height=425")\' style="cursor:hand;"') . '<br /></div>'; echo '<hr />'; } ?> <!-- End of Order Question Module -->
>
> Changed to:
>
> ```
<!-- Start of Order Question Module -->
<?php
  if (ALLOW_ORDER_QUESTION == 'true') {

    echo '<div class="order_history_question" style="text-align:center;"><br />' . '<a href="' . HTTP_SERVER . DIR_WS_CATALOG . FILENAME_ORDER_QUESTION . '?order_id=' . $_GET['order_id'] . '"  target="ask_question">' . zen_image_button(BUTTON_IMAGE_ORDER_QUESTION, BUTTON_ORDER_QUESTION_ALT) . '</a><br /><br /></div>';
	echo '<hr />';
  }
?>
<!-- End of Order Question Module -->

Hope this helps out someone else.

Re: Allow Customer to add to Order Comments

1062 Duplicate entry 'ALLOW_ORDER_QUESTION' for key 2
in:
[INSERT INTO zen_configuration ( configuration_id , configuration_title , configuration_key , configuration_value , configuration_description , configuration_group_id , sort_order , last_modified , date_added , use_function , set_function ) VALUES ('', 'Enable "Ask a Question about an Order" module', 'ALLOW_ORDER_QUESTION', 'true', 'This enables the module.', '12', '999', NULL , NOW( ) , NULL , 'zen_cfg_select_option(array(''true'', ''false''),');]
If you were entering information, press the BACK button in your browser and re-check the information you had entered to be sure you left no blank fields.

why do i have this problem ???

someone please assist

Re: Allow Customer to add to Order Comments

Hi,

Does anyone know how to incorporate this into the Checkout Success page without popups?
As in the question field is already in there (kind of like order comments in the Checkout Payment page) when you reach the checkout success page. I tried a few times but always got a blank page...

Re: Allow Customer to add to Order Comments

What would be good would be if the action of contacting us, changed the status of the order.

Is that possible?

Also, on the popup window, how do I go about adding a white background?

Has anyone figured out how to get the comment to change the current order status?

Re: Allow Customer to add to Order Comments

Anything is possible. You would need to adjust the TABLE_ORDERS to reflect the new status. The current status is already being set within the order comment update, however, it would need to be reflected in the main order table in order to show up within the admin.

The background colouring is a simple case of adding a CSS style and tag to the script.

Re: Allow Customer to add to Order Comments

Would you be willing to try and make that work?

Or perhaps explain a little more what I need to do, or where I could find some current code to modify and insert to make it work.
