The only one supports this out of the box is Magic Seo Url, a commercial module.
Simple Seo Url also supports this, but you have to manually do it for each category/product name, so it will be a problem if you have too many. Automatic solution comes in future version.

Re: Ultimate SEO URLs

I cannot leave it live, but everything seems to work... Additional testing will be required, but its a simple thing to accomplish as well. If you PM me I will tell you how to do it if you provide me any bugs you run into.

If you remove the identifier, make sure that it works for all product types as well. If you dont have a work around for it, the other product types such as document, music will be listed as general.

Re: Ultimate SEO URLs

They seem to work.. Simply the product default string is just -- instead of -p-... So I haven't seen any operational issues... But you never know :P

The beauty is, they are still properly identifies and Google does not read dashes...

You would NOT be able to do this with say categories as well, however.

As long as it works, it is fine. The identifier is just a way to tell that this is a product, ignore the names, read the id instead. The p there, in this version of ultimate seo, doesnt do much. I believe this version doesnt support any product type other than the general one by default. So for 90% of the stores, they will be just fine. Otherwise, you are in trouble.

And also as a note, it doesnt have to be -p-, it can be -product- or -item- or whatever, it is just a specific string in there to identify.

Correct.

and... Ultimate does support the other product types you only have to add the rewrite rules.

Yup, which is why I said: not by default.

I still need to test it... If I simply tell everybody here and it fails, then there will be *heck to pay.

Secondly, the example store I gave is indexed I am not going to change every product url on a live store. I have it running on my development server currently and will try it in a production store first chance I get.

Re: Ultimate SEO URLs

Hi guys

I have a few issues with USEO and hope you guys could help me out.

  1. How do you increase the max number of categories to show in the URL? currently showing 2 I think
eg. to something like this domain.com/sports-tennis-raquects-wilson
where wilson is a category under raquects and raquects is a category uner tennis etc.

  2. How do you change the category seperator from "-" to "/"
    eg. domain.com/sports/tennis/raquects instead of domain.com/sports-tennis-raquects

  3. How do you remove the .html at the end of the url.

Thanks in advance

Re: Ultimate SEO URLs

Not sure about point 1 and 3, but as for point 2, doing so may break the site (assume that I understand how USEO works correctly)

Re: Ultimate SEO URLs

Hi Guys,

i have a problem and i hope, you can help me.

I had ultimate seo urls installed, but in spanish. Unfortunately i didn't read the guide, how to uninstall/reinstall the module correctly. so i just uploaded the english files to our server and now i can't login to the admin tool anymore. i just get a blank page and nothing happens.

i didn't overrite the "old" files. i just renamed them. so i renamed the new files to .bak and the old ones to the original name again. but still the login page is blank.

did anyone have the same problems and can give me a hint, what went wrong?

Thanks in advance

Edit: i went from login.php to autoload_func.php to application_top.php and it seems, that after application_top.php is parsed, nothing happens.

Re: Ultimate SEO URLs

Ultimate SEO urls doesn't rewrite EZ pages as they are database generated.
