Ultimate SEO URLs

Jerry5763837:

dear Mprough,

Much appreciated for your patience.

May ask another question here about SEO?

That is, when i type site:https://www.topalways.com into GOOGLE Search talbe, why my homepage https://www.topalways.com ranks about NO. 30, not NO. 1?
what is the most srtange is that, when mouse hover on my homepage URL in the search result, it shows http://www.topalways.com/-c-.html, not http://www.topalways.com/, and it is also http://www.topalways.com/-c-.html in status bar
Please help me to check. thanks very much

Hi, Mprough,

After searching, founkd somthing at http://www.zen-cart.com/forum/showthread.php?t=96924 maybe useful.
it seems that, https://www.example.com/-c-.html is a category URL, in which the category name disappeared, but this can be fixed at http://www.zen-cart.com/forum/showthread.php?t=96924

If so, where is my homepage?? why can not find homepage in GOOGLE Search result by typing site:https://www.topalways.com?

Any suggestion would be highly appreciated.:P

Re: Ultimate SEO URLs

To check for indexed pages.... you use site:domain.com in Google.

http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=site%3Atopalways.com&btnG=Search

You main page is not indexed. How long has your site been live?

Also, your main page title tag is an issue

<title>Wholesale - wholesale Electronics - China Wholesale - Buy Wholesale Products from Chinese Wholesaler</title>

This is not a proper title, your page title is not intended to be a keyword list.

Your top page result in Google for the site command above produces this page (https://www.topalways.com/page.html?id=16) and Google has not crawled it since Oct 17.

Some cache/crawl dates are sooner, but you seem to be having an issue with Google. I would start by repairing all canonical duplication, fixing the main page title tag and building links to the main page.

Re: Ultimate SEO URLs

Try a search for the word "canonical" - there is at least one thread with very detailed instructions.

Re: Ultimate SEO URLs

mprough:

The EN urls come from having the language function enabled... It is no longer enabled, but Gogle had already indexed the urls. They will drop off naturally, no worries. You robots.txt has them blocked as well.

~Melanie

Dear Mprough,

I did post the following code into my robot.```html
txtUser-agent: *
Disallow: /=en

now, GOOGLE warning that up to 20 pages with "&language=en" were restricted by robot.txt. I wonders to know can these restricted pages be indexed by google or not??

Is it possible to delete "&language=en"? please help me.
thanks for your patience.

Re: Ultimate SEO URLs

Hi, this mod has been working fine but our server was having problems with hotlink protection of images. So we had that turned off but now when this mod is enabled everytime you click on a product it shows error 404 not found. The main page works fine. thinking possibly a .htaccess problem?

ok, well when SEO is turned on I have used the default .htaccess file and obvisouly changed to my site name. But what do I need to do in the file to make it work. I really don't know why the hotlink protection being enabled made it work and not now!

Re: Ultimate SEO URLs

yes turned it on and off in cpanel

Sorry tried attaching file but no luck!

## Add these to your .htaccess file so that only one way to your site exists, either http://yoursite.com and http://www.yoursite.com ... the following adds the www if it's missing:
RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} ^lionblade.com$ [NC]
RewriteRule ^(.*)$ http://www.lionblade.com/$1 [R=301,L]

If you'd like your site to go to http://mysite.com instead of http://www.mysite.com, add these changes instead:

##RewriteEngine On
##RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} ^www.yoursite.com$ [NC]
##RewriteRule ^(.*)$ http://yoursite.com/$1 [R=301,L]

the following makes sure the correct mime type is sent for the .htc file

AddType text/x-component .htc
ErrorDocument 404 /page_not_found.html

NOTE: Replace /shop/ with the relative web path of your catalog in the "Rewrite Base" line below:

Options +FollowSymLinks
RewriteBase /
RewriteBase /~lionblad/lionblade/

From Ultimate SEO URLs

RewriteRule ^(.)-p-(.).html$ index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=$2&%{QUERY_STRING} [L]
RewriteRule ^(.)-c-(.).html$ index.php?main_page=index&cPath=$2&%{QUERY_STRING} [L]

RewriteRule ^(.
)-pri-([0-9]+).html$ index.php?main_page=product_reviews_info&products_id=$2&%{QUERY_STRING} [L]

For Open Operations Info Manager

RewriteRule ^(.*)-i-([0-9]+).html$ index.php?main_page=info_manager&pages_id=$2&%{QUERY_STRING} [L]

For dreamscape's News & Articles Manager

RewriteRule ^news/?$ index.php?main_page=news&%{QUERY_STRING} [L]
RewriteRule ^news/rss.xml$ index.php?main_page=news_rss&%{QUERY_STRING} [L]
RewriteRule ^news/archive/?$ index.php?main_page=news_archive&%{QUERY_STRING} [L]
RewriteRule ^news/([0-9]{4})-([0-9]{2})-([0-9]{2}).html$ index.php?main_page=news&date=$1-$2-$3&%{QUERY_STRING} [L]

RewriteRule ^news/(.
)-a-([0-9]+).html$ index.php?main_page=news_article&article_id=$2&%{QUERY_STRING} [L]

All other pages

Don't rewrite real files or directories

Re: Ultimate SEO URLs

dear Mprough,

Oh, no, another problem is rocking me.

Please see following warning from GOOGLE:

All the URLs in your Sitemap have the same priority.
All the URLs in your Sitemap are set to the same priority (not the default priority). Priority indicates the importance of a particular URL relative to other URLs on your site, and doesn't impact your site's performance in search results. If all URLs have the same priority, Google can't tell which are more important.

Any suggestion about this? thansk in advance.

They can be indexed, not crawled.
